HOSPITALITY Baladi Experience Restaurant

DANCE & ARCHITECTURE My concept draws inspiration from the flow and movement of the popular Middle Eastern dance, Raqs Baladi, to create a tangible environment for people to inhabit. This traditional Middle Eastern dance is vibrant, rhythmic, and grounded. The restaurant will allow guests to experience the fluid movement of Baladi from every direction, as if the dance is taking place all around them.

EDUCATION White River Studios

LAKOTA MEDICINE WHEEL This space is a unifying interior environment that encourages the White River, South Dakota community to come together. One specific cultural element that is incorporated is the Lakota medicine wheel which is a sacred symbol used by the tribe to represent all knowledge of the universe. The wheel is split into four sections. Each uses different directions, colors, elements in nature, and character traits to link humans to the environment where they reside.

ADAPTIVE REUSE Scottsdale Satellite Library

COMPARTAMENTALIZED SPACES The site is an existing building in a public park located in North Scottsdale, Arizona. The concept behind the design of the library is to create compartamentalized spaces where people can interact in social areas without disturbing people who are reading or working in a quiet environment.

HOSPITALITY The Highline Hotel

intertwined My concept for this boutique hotel was to intertwind natural elements with man made developments. Â Throughout time, humans have covered nature up with their man made environments but in some cases nature has been found re-emerging from industrial developments. Â The Highline is a great example of nature peeking through the industrialization and development of New York City.

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN Space Cases

CONCEPTUAL SPACE Using a conceptual approach, the task was to design and physically model an interior environment that explores a series of spatial qualities that work together to provide a range/degrees of possible experiences: from “peering into” to being “peered upon”. Building upon the previous concept development phase, I used digital modeling to present a visual narrative of a spatial type that the design resulting from my conceptual exploration could be.
