WePhoto B&W 2017 Vol 4 Dear all, Here comes yet another moment of pride for WePhoto while bringing out the next Book in ‘The Series’ representing the genre - Black and White (B&W) Photography. I founded the WePhoto Group in February 2014 and since then we have come this far simply out of our passion for this art form. Over the time, thanks to the continuous help and support of many likeminded colleagues, who have shared every moment of success while working together with equal enthusiasm. We have created other groups and thematic pages to better represent the various styles in photography. Today WePhoto group has the widest presence across Facebook representing almost every possible genre of photography. As of date there are twelve different groups and related pages, with picture boards on Pinterest and about seventy e-books published on issuu.com. This annual collection called - The Series - comprises eBooks, each belonging to a specific photographic theme, and includes the artwork of several authors from Italy and abroad. The one in your hands is the forth thematic book dedicated to B&W Photography. Apart from the e-version these publications are available in the form of coffee table books too. Black And White Black and White (B&W) Photography belongs to an altogether different era and the interesting part is that the art form has not only survived all this long, it is thriving with innovations taking place every next time. Seems as if man is finding it difficult to come out of its spell. B&W comes with a rich heritage in the form of works of Ansel Adams, Henri CartierBresson, Edward Weston etc, who created masterpieces out of the constraints of equipment, tools and above all - color. But absence of the latter evidently came to their advantage and helped them see what would not be visible in a colored world. Colors dominate frame, its aspects and elements; and so a B&W photographer will rather focus on the potentials of placement, shape, pattern, texture, tonal contrast and above all flow and quality of light. B&W photography is way beyond mere conversion of a color photo to grayscale. It is about creation of fine art objects from the scene around us. B&W is inspiring, ethereal and will remain forever.

CORRADO CORRADINI Melegnano, Itaia

ww.corradocorradini.com www.facebook.com/corrado.corradini.73 Mi chiamo Corrado Corradini, ho 63 anni e vivo in Lombardia.

My name is Corrado Corradini. I'm 63 and live in Lombardy. I had been a professional photographer for eight years at a well-established photo agency in Milan. During those years I was involved in sports coverage following the various events of numerous disciplines, performances, journals etc.

Gradually I became so

exhausted that the initial enthusiasm for work turned into a routine with very little creativity, and eventually I said goodbye to photography for about twenty years. In the year 2009 during the recording of a sports event with a small digital camera, I got a few moments to myself to explore the camera and it was like finding your true love that could never be forgotten. Today I am free from any constraint or obligation and I do photography just for fun only to find those moments greatly memorable. Now we have the digital devices but for those who had experience with an analog camera, it was like being in a wonderland. I consider myself a reportage photographer. 10

RUTH CHUDASKA CLEMENZ Finsterwalde, Germany

I was fascinated about photography very early in age. My father gave me the first toy camera when I was about 8 years old. During my high school time I met a professional photographer who showed me the essentials and lended his first Nikon to me. He even published my first photos when I was 18. Soon it became my dream to own a Nikon for myself. Now, more than 30 years have passed. I did not follow his way to be a professional photographer because I wanted to be free in my decisions with what to shoot and what not to. For me compulsion is the end of creativity in photography. But the fascination for photography never completely left me. Meanwhile I could realize my dreams and after having long experiences with analogue Nikons I changed to the digital one some years ago.. This is like getting one of my dreams fulfilled: Today I own professional gear and try constantly to improve my skills and to learn every day new and interesting things about photography and post processing. In my usual profession I work as psychiatrist, expert in testimonies for legal authorities in Germany. 34

Rita Scarola was born in Grumo Appula in 1990, studied pedagogical subjects and graduated in Political Science at Bari in 2016. During self-taught university studies, she began to be interested in photography, definitively maturing that indissoluble bond with the camera that would accompany her during her many trips around the world. India, Kenya, Turkey, the Balkans, Belarus, are just some of the other worlds that she explored her soul in. Rita pursued the possible dialogue with distant cultures even if it would happen only through a gaze. Eyes, hands, faces, smiles, tears: the quest for detail, for a tale to be told of the real world and for a necessity to immortalize what a naked eye might lose after it moves on and how to see beyond what was visible: a particular moment whose essence the human soul has the duty to seize. Member of Photo Group "Those of the Tower" Author and curator of collective photographic exhibitions: Â -WhoMan, Grumo Appula, 2017 -Reflections of Woman, Sea Tower, 2016 Membro del Gruppo Fotografico "Quelli della Torre" Autrice e curatrice delle mostre fotografiche collettive: -WhoMan, Grumo Appula, 2017 -Riflessi di Donna, Torre a Mare, 2016 -Torre a Mare colori e Tradizioni, Torre a Mare, 2015 -Strade, Bari, 2012 58
