Since then, we have published 60+ eBooks, a special edition work called WePhoto Annual Calendar for the years 2015, ’16 and ’17. This annual collection called - The Series - is made of eBooks each related to a specific photographic theme, and includes the artwork of several authors from Italy and abroad. The one in your hands is the sixth thematic Book dedicated to Minimal Photography. Apart from the e-version these Books are available in the form of coffee table books too.

In today’s overly photographed world the simplistic style of minimal photography brings a big relief to the eye. Artistically speaking, minimalism depends on a single fundamental principle of keeping it simple every time using minimum amount of compositional elements, separated by shape, color, and line. Minimalism being a very subjective style is open to interpretations. It may convey a concept or an idea, provoke an emotional response, or provide a unique visual experience. You need an eye to create a minimalistic image so as to decide what all to include and what not to. This art compels you to view the world differently through the lens and challenges you to look beyond the obvious for hidden photographic opportunities. Mario Buncuga

Influenced by Zen, this photographer intends to utilize the vacant-space technique in the traditional Chinese ink painting to contrast the virtual and reality in his works, and also explore the subject of the relationship between time and space. In the meantime, he also wants to experiment whether the warmness in the nature of human sensibility can be revealed in a highly rational photography composed of extremely simple lines and patches of colors. 10

FEDERICO LEFFE Milano, Italy www.facebook.com/federico.leffe www.instagram.com/federicoleffe/

Io adoro i particolari architettonici. All'inizio ero attratto dalla street photography.

I had got a Reflex camera to try my hands on but the experience was not worthwhile. The analog did not do it for me. My father had accomplished what he loved: his family but I loved architectural details. Though I did not understand this right away. I came to this conclusion after a long individual research. At first I was attracted to street photography but soon I realized that I did not understand how to do it. I continue to appreciate it but still I am not able to produce it. So I began to look for what I was more comfortable with and as I liked to realize details I chose minimal photography. Today I can express my point of view through my work that also helps me find myself. 22

GIULIO LETTICA Ragusa, Italy www.flickr.com/photos/elgiulio www.facebook.com/giulio.lettica

Born in '52, I started my first photographic experience in 1977 as a student, when, before I took a shot, I was expected to think about it thoroughly because of the huge cost factor involved with the film and its processing. I now realize that the real photographic freedom comes with digital camera. In addition to the world I have been photographing, there exists yet another world, which is made of simplicity. We are so accustomed to this other dimension that we do not notice it, but when we do, it offers so many new aspects and tremendous stimuli. You just have to look around to discover how much beauty exists in everyday things. In my photographic quest I do not neglect the traditional subjects, but what is most gratifying is when I can isolate its lines, shapes, colors, details, which is what satisfies my appetite for creativity. 34

ISABELLE PLUYAUD Touraine, France www.facebook.com/isabelle.pluyaud

I am Isabelle Pluyaud, a 54 year old French, living in the center of France, in Touraine, a region famous for its castles and wines. It is called “The Garden of France”. It is known to be the cradle of the French language for its absence of accent. I’m not a professional photographer. For me, photography is above all the passions, like music, painting, drawing, decoration, walking. It’s a way to revitalize and escape - escape from everyday life. I have been doing photography for several years (landscapes, fauna and flora). In May 2016, through some photo groups within a social network, I discovered minimal photography. I am passionate about this photographic art, and since my vision, my photographic approach has focused mainly on minimalism, which makes me vibrate artistically, and changes my perception of the world around me. 46

STEVE PARKER London, UK spgd@btinternet.com

Having spent most of his working life as a graphic designer, Steve Parker is now concentrating on developing his love of photography. In his early years, Steve utilised his natural aptitude for art and design and found himself working alongside architects, planners and urban designers producing technical literature and graphics for urban development projects in the UK and overseas. This grounding was the foundation for a 35-year career as a commercial graphic designer. Steve now focuses on expressing his art through the lens of a camera. Using natural and urban habitats as his canvas, Steve’s photographs are fuelled by his graphic sense of colour, shape and texture. The juxtaposition of large and small, dark and light, and an appetite for the quirky, feature prominently in much of his work. Other projects have included stage and film set stills, lifestyle and street photography. 94
