WePhoto Reportage 2019 - Vol. 10 Dear all, This is yet another proud moment releasing the next edition in Reportage Photography under our banner, namely ‘The Series’. Since 2014 when WePhoto Group was founded we have come this far out of sheer passion for this art. Over the time, thanks to the continuous help and support of many likeminded colleagues, who have been as enthusiast as me in supporting this cause, that today we have created many platforms and thematic pages to represent the various genres in photography. Today WePhoto group has the widest presence across Facebook representing almost every possible genre of photography. As of date we represent various groups, thematic pages, with picture boards on Pinterest, a dedicated web portal and more than 90 books published on issuu.com. This annual collection called - The Series - is made out of eBooks each belonging to a specific photographic genre, and includes the artwork of several authors from Italy and abroad. The one in your hands is the tenth thematic book dedicated to Reportage Photography. Apart from the e-version these publications are available in the form of coffee table books as well.

INTRODUCTION: Reportage
Since the time Photography started, a significant, if not the most important, use of this form of communication has been the documentation of events. From sports to war, from political events and trade to the narration of common life events, in the streets, in cities, in villages or in the fields, it is all about the description of life in its numerous forms. Sometimes it makes a story or a news, at others it creates a basis for a protest or a reporting. But nothing has ever made a greater impact on the mind of its viewers than a pictorial coverage of an instance. We sincerely hope that you will have the same feelings by the time you flip through the last page of this eBook.

ARIANNA D’ANNIBALE Roma, Italia
facebook.com/arianna.dannibale.7 ariannadannibale90@gmail.com
I was born in Rome, in 1990. At the age of 23 I moved to England and, having learned the basics of English, I was finally able to realize my life’s dream of making my first real overseas journey happen.
The seasonal nature of my work then allowed me to travel every year and visit most of Asia and other countries of the world, and above all to discover my greatest passion: PHOTOGRAPHY. Photographing for me has been about capturing emotions, so I never focused on a single photographic genre, and favored color photography over black and white. Every single photo has something unique to offer, and it is the means by which I try to convey what I feel when I travel 10

BOB MATKODAK Tembilahan, Indonesia
facebook.com/bobmatkodak66 bob.dian1212@gmail.com
I live in a small town in Tembilahan, Indragiri Hilir, Riau, Indonesia.
I became interested in photography during the year 1986, particularly in black and white, capturing people’s portraits and moments. As time went by, I began to recognize the potential of SLR cameras in the ‘90s. I believe that the eyes are windows to the soul and I have tried to apply this in my natural light photographs. I don’t believe in conceptual photography and I instead take photographs of humans in their daily life and in their surroundings. 22

CARLO GIORDANO Altamura, Italia
facebook.com/Refante instagram.com/rephante/
I am Carlo Giordano, born in Altamura (BA) in 1988. For about 25 years of my life photography was just an art form that belonged to others not me, until the meeting with some young amateur photographers made me realize that I could channel my curiosity and my critical gaze at the surrounding world into an image.
So I bought my first reflex and many photography books, to study and experiment. The goal of every single shot of mine is to tell the reality of world around us, focusing on minute details, on things that are often underestimated, but that actually reveal the nature of things. In my shots I try to show the viewer that the world can be seen in an unconventional way. I like to experiment with different styles and want to be constantly evolving and growing. 34

LUCIANA TRAPPOLINO Lecce, Italia traluce64@gmail.com facebook.com/luciana.trappolino instagram.com/Traluce64
I was born in Orvieto on February 15th 1964, and graduated in Economics and Commerce from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). I currently live in Lecce, where I work in a public company. Since I was a child I have cultivated a passion for photography. I have been a photographer by vocation and I have lived perennially with my Reflex for over thirty years. I participated in several exhibitions, including some promoted by the FIOF (International Fund for Photography) within the R-Evolution Photo Festival 2018.
I have won several competitions and received several mentions of honor, including those of the FIOF International Photographer Awards 2017 and 2018; again in 2018 I was a finalist at the Miami Street Photography Festival and winner with the 1st prize in the competition promoted by Amnesty International Italy. Some of my photos have been published in acclaimed photo magazines: including the National Geographic and the FIAF Yearbook. My photography is a travel report, an ethnic testimony of customs and traditions of other peoples, which in part, with the contamination of the Western world, are gradually being lost. I love to focus on portraiture, especially the candid ones, which comes from closer encounters with people, while trying to capture their beauty, emotions, and things beyond their mere visual appearance. 46

STEFANO BERTUCCI Halifax, Canada
facebook.com/stefanobertocciphoto 500px.com/stefanobertocciphotography instagram.com/stefano_bertocci_photography
I was born in Livorno on 12 January 1980, and since 2005 I have continued with my profession as a factory worker.
I started doing photography since 2012 and I liked to photograph a bit of everything: from portraits to people to landscapes. In all these years I have learned a lot by observing the techniques of various photography professionals. Mostly I like cover to the instances that give me an opportunity to learn about new places. I have traveled all across the globe but I am very attracted to the Asian landscapes where I have found plenty of emotions, capturing the most beautiful and natural expressions of the locals. 58

RUTH CHUDASKA-CLEMENZ Finsterwalde, Germany
facebook.com/ruth.chudaskaclemenz 500px.com/shadows
I was fascinated about photography very early in age. My father gave me the first toy camera when I was about 8 years old. During my high school time I met a professional photographer who showed me the essentials and lended his first Nikon to me. He even published my first photos when I was 18. Soon it became my dream to own a Nikon for myself. Now, more than 30 years have passed. I did not follow his way to be a professional photographer because I wanted to be free in my decisions with what to shoot and what not to.
For me compulsion is the end of creativity in photography. But the fascination for photography never completely left me. Meanwhile I could realize my dreams and after having long experiences with analogue Nikons I changed to the digital one some years ago.. This is like getting one of my dreams fulfilled: Today I own professional gear and try constantly to improve my skills and to learn every day new and interesting things about photography and post processing. In my usual profession I work as psychiatrist, expert in testimonies for legal authorities in Germany. 70
