WePhoto - 2016 - Reportage - Vol 4
WePhoto “The Series” Reportage Vol 4 Dear all, I am very proud to introduce the new collection “The Series”. It was not so long ago since we have launched the first eBook, including the photographic work of the 15 administrators, who at that time were cooperating in the “WePhoto” group. Since then, we have published 21 eBooks and the Special edition “Calendar 2015” and now two Calendars 2016. This new collection – The Series - is made of different eBooks, each one (or more than one if required) related to a specific photographic theme, including the artworks of several authors from Italy and abroad. This is the fourth eBook of the Ten line of this new collection and has been dedicated to Reportage Photography.
We are all so excited and happy to be able to collect such beautiful images and, most of all to be able to share them with a wide audience. Spread, share, recommend everyone to download eBooks from our webpages and links below. Also make sure to leave your feedback on the eStores – 5 stars comments would be great. RATE IT! ANJAN GHOSH Calcuta, India
https://www.facebook.com/anjancreative71 anjanghosh.tumblr.com/ 500px.com/anjan1975 yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/profile/341547/ I am passionate about photography, especially in rural and semi-urban life. India is a country where the main essence comes out from the rural areas that makes it unique among other countries. My intention is to search this uniqueness and produce them on the global platform. Urbanisation is swallowing down our daily life style in a rapid pace. Yet, the Indian villages are competing with this urbanisation in a positive way for a long time. I do go to the interiors of my state [West Bengal] and literally ‘research’ the village life style. And then, if the need be, take a few snaps. I try to capture only those moments of a village or a rural life, which would bring out the hardcore truth about the subject.
Sometimes, I have to face challenges to get the required snaps. My intention is not to show poverty or the poorness of Indian villages, but to portray something which would eventually come in aid of the rural people. And the good news is, I am getting support in this regard. It is slow, but a steady process! A few of my like-minded friends are becoming aware of my intention, are showing interest to take some positive actions. We have taken a pledge that by this, if we can at least try to ‘change’ the life of one family in any part of our state; or in India, we would be greatly obliged. And by doing this, if we can ask or request the government to take some positive actions to change the condition of the village for the better, it would be a great achievement for us. I am an optimistic person, and I definitely believe that in the near future, more people would be interested in this endeavour. 10

FRANCO MAZZA Figline Valdarno, Italy
www.facebook.com/Franco217

And 'only from 2010 that I could devote myself to my two greatest passions: photography and traveling. My real passion is documenting the life and people. I am fascinated by the great outdoors and the strength of the people living in these difficult environments. With my pictures I hope to make the emotion experienced shine and especially the human aspect of the faces and places. Photography for me is life itself, is to learn to know the people and their human side through the most beautiful way possible. I hope you like my work. 22

From Paris to South of France to Miami, from Miami to Tel Aviv, I expressed my art everywhere. First in painting, then in street photography. I track the light everywhere and that moment of fusional love that delivers creativity in me and gives me this personal look of people and cities. My pictures are spontaneous, without post editing, and for a few seconds I have this pleasure and excitation to capture the moment to make it unforgettable. I often tell myself to be lucky to have been there without deciding it, at this place, with this unique light that allows me to give life to my Art. I want to show people in situations that highlight an aspect or different aspects of who they are. The human experience is unique and entirely unpredictable. It’s a fantastic challenge to explore it through photography. 46

DAVIDE COLAGIACOMO Genova, Italy
Amo l'architettura razionalista, così come l'Impressionismo.
In this world since 1973, I started to handle cameras at eight years, and then continued up to today, learning a language that I often use more than words (with pleasure of those who often suffer my sermons). I'm a non-engineer, but I keep engineering approach, rational and analytical. I love rationalist architecture, as well as Impressionism. And through photography I try to find different perspectives of visions to share with everyone. Photographically I like to portray people in their daily lives, as well as adore the architectural geometries and exploration of abandoned places. In all these phographic occasions, I always feel strongly called by the particolar, the detail that we don’t note in ordinary life, but feels good to be seen. Few months ago I found a cultural association whose purpose is to bring and talk together photography with other forms of art, in which I put all the energies that work and a wonderful son still leave in me. 58

Kumbh Mela, the largest spiritual gathering of mankind on the Earth, is held every 12 years on the banks of the 'Sangam'- the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. Millions of devotees take a holy dip in the sacred water during the mela. Maha Kumbha Mela held only at Prayag, once in every 144 years. It is believed that at the historic moment of the Maha Kumbh Mela, the river turns itself into sanctity spots filled with ‘Amrita’ (Panacia or elixir of immortality). The pilgrims get once in a lifetime chance to bathe in the spirit of holiness, auspiciousness and salvation. As mythology tells us, when Gods (Devtas) and Demons (Asura) used to reside on Earth, Gods were under the influence of a curse that gave birth of fear in them eventually making them weak. Brahma (the Creator) advised them to churn the milky ocean to obtain the elixir of immortality (Amrita). And Kumbh was the spot chosen to store the nectar of immortality recovered from Samudramanthan. For 12 heavenly days and 12 heavenly nights, equivalent to 12 Earthly years, Gods were chased by Demons for the possession of Amrita. During the chase for the Amrita, few drops of this elixir out of its ‘Kumbha’ (Pot) fell on four places now known as Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nasik. The whole Kumbha mela (carnival) and its cycle is a remembrance of that Mythological story. The mela takes place in all these four places. Out of these the one celebrated at the Holy Sangam in Allahabad is the largest and believed to be the holiest one. Thus the Kumbh Mela became one of the main festivals of Hindus as well as the largest spiritual gathering of mankind on Earth. 82
