WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? TO APPLY TO ANY OF DANCEEAST’S PERFORMANCE GROUPS PLEASE COMPLETE THE ENCLOSED APPLICATION FORM. Participation requires commitment throughout the entire year and may require additional rehearsal and project work. All those who submit an application will be invited to audition. Auditions take place in the form of an informal class and you will not have to prepare anything in advance.

Learn West End routines in Musical Theatre Dance, perfect your technique in Contemporary for Teens or develop your choreographic skills in Creative Dance. Why not give Creative Ballet a go or break, lock and pop in Creative Hip Hop? There is a dance class for all.

Keep fit and healthy with DanceEast’s wide range of fitness, wellbeing and dance classes for all ages and abilities. With classes suitable for beginner and advanced levels you can learn something new, get inspired and have great fun.

DanceEast has a developing programme of activities for children and adults with additional needs, and works with individuals and service providers. Dance classes run weekly for people of all ages.

IPSWICH

PERFORMANCE GROUPS DANCEEAST CENTRE FOR ADVANCED TRAINING (CAT) FOR THE EAST OF ENGLAND The DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training provides world class, non-residential dance programmes for young people aged 10 – 18yrs. Applicants need to demonstrate exceptional talent and potential with a desire to pursue full time professional training and a career in dance. DanceEast CAT classes take place at the Jewood DanceHouse, Ipswich on Saturdays (junior level) and Sundays, with mid-week classes in either Ipswich, Norwich or Cambridge.

MONDAYS 5.30 – 7.00PM Improve your dance technique and develop choreographic and creative skills in a fun and energetic male-only environment. No previous dance experience necessary but enthusiasm is a must!

DanceEast runs a range of Performance Groups for people of all ages. The length of commitment required is one academic year. These resident youth and adult performance groups will have the opportunity to collaborate with other community based dance companies, and perform at various local, regional and national platforms.

Recent finalists in the national youth dance festival U.Dance this company is aimed at experienced dancers, sessions will focus on contact work, choreographic and performance skills.

Time to Dance* is an open class where participants engage in a technical warm up, learn taught sequences and phrases, with a small amount of creative work. This is used as a preparatory session for The Elderberries weekly workshop.

Members are encouraged to explore creatively and build on technical abilities in order to grow as an individual and as part of a company.

The Elderberries† work towards numerous performance projects, devising original material through the creative exploration of various choreographic approaches.

www.artsaward.org.uk Members of Boyz United, Suffolk Junior Dance Company and Suffolk Youth Dance Company have the opportunity to work towards the Bronze and Silver Arts Award. The Arts Award is a national qualification that supports young people in all areas of the arts. The scheme provides a fantastic way for young people to develop creativity and leadership skills.
