Fifteen Years of Giving Back to Team Members
As many know, The United Family strives to be a presence in the communities it serves. From small towns to big cities, United is a supporter of community.
Not only does the company support the guests in our communities, but it also supports checkers, pharmacy clerks, grocery managers, cake decorators and more through United We Care program. It is a program designed to help team members when they need it the most.
In 2022, the United We Care team celebrated the program’s 15 year anniversary. The celebration kicked off during the holiday season in 2021 with a theme of “15 days of giving for 15 years of caring.” Team members had the opportunity to nominate their co-workers for a Christmas Blessing of $500! Ten team members per region received a $500 Christmas Blessing in honor of United We Care’s anniversary.
The next celebration was the swag bag giveaway. Team members who contribute funds to United We Care were automatically entered into a drawing for a free swag bag. A total of 100 swag bags per region were distributed to team members. This was the program’s way to celebrate their supporters and give them a ‘thank you’ for their continued contributions.
The last celebration was the program’s grocery giveaway that was hosted in August. Supporters of United We Care were entered into a drawing and 10 winners from each region received a $250 grocery gift card.
“As we wrap up our 15-year anniversary celebration, we just want to say thank you to all of those team members who continue to support United We Care,” said Kristi Gonzales, United We Care program manager. “To date, United We Care has blessed almost 2,000 team members with over $3.9 million in assistance. We know we couldn’t do it without our United Family! Thank you for your support and for making a positive impact on the lives of Team Members in need.”
Kristi Gonzales has been involved with United We Care since 2011 and feels honored and blessed to be a part of the rewarding program.
“It has been rewarding and humbling to see that as our world changes, and we navigate through these trying times, we are there for each other and ready to lend a helping hand,” Gonzales said. “United We Care is such a unique program in that it’s truly our team members taking care of our team members.”
Mike Fuller has served as the board’s president this year and will remain through 2023.
“For 15 years, United Family team members have given back to their own community of team members, and the United We Care program couldn’t be more thankful,” said Fuller.
