When you look up the word “veteran,” it is defined as someone who has served in the military; however, the meaning of being a veteran is so much more than that.

It’s someone who has shown great courage and bravery in service to our country. Deserving of admiration and appreciation, veterans have established a benchmark for sacrifice and patriotism. A veteran is a hero to their country.

Over the past year, The United Family Diversity Council joined forces with the veterans in our company in an effort to honor and recognize them. To do so, the council designed and ordered special pins for every veteran that is a team member with The United Family.

The pins were designed to be worn directly on name tags so fellow team members and guests can see who are veterans and in which branch of the military they served.

Stores and team members across the company received pins and took pictures of their pin presentations and celebrations. Not only is it important for The United Family to recognize the importance of these pins, it’s essential that team members understand what they mean.

To the veterans of The United Family, thank you for serving our country, our stores and our communities.

For those veterans who don’t have a pin and would like one, please scan the QR code and fill out the google form!
