ello again! I hope summer is treating you guys well whether you are beach bound, taking summer school, or having an all-nighter marathon. Take time to relax and have fun because you deserve it…but do not forget about volunteering. *wink wink* There are many exciting activates we have planned this summer, so keep your ears out for them! There are DCMs every month and region picnic is just around the corner as well. *cough cough* Anyways, welcome to our third newsletter! You know what they say, “third times the charm”. Right? Okay, probably not, but nonetheless, I hope you enjoy reading this newsletter! There are many changes in this newsletter such as new graphic styles and layouts. Yay or nay? See you next month! - Sally Duong

Yearbook Distribution party

tudy for finals? Check. Pass AP tests? Check. Volunteer at the yearbook distribution party? Double check! As school ends, students face endless tests and cram all night long but that does not stop our dedicated key clubbers from volunteering. On Friday the 15, volunteers attended Mark Keppel High School’s very first yearbook distribution party. The party was hosted by our fabulous yearbook staff and included fun activities such as yearbook signing, selfie contests, and even included a photo booth. There could not be possibly a better way to relieve stress and celebrate the end of advance placement testing than this! Volunteers quickly rushed to the cafeteria after school to serve the eager attendees. Jobs ranged from controlling lines of over five hundred people, preparing yearbooks with stickers and covers, and managing the photo booth. Volunteers were literally flying as they dealt with the hectic crowd. After the party died down, key clubbers cleaned up the room by removing boxes, clearing tables, moving the backdrop, and rearranging the tables.

Ten Ren fundraiser

05 27 B

Bubble milk tea, takoyaki, and friends are just what the doctor ordered. On Wednesday the 27, students celebrated the last day of finals at our Ten Ren fundraiser. Ten Ren’s Tea Time is a local tea shop in Monterey Park that serves food and drinks ranging from oolong tea to popcorn chicken. The funds raised were used for our home club to lower costs of activities such as Fall Rally and gear such as shirts for the students. At the fundraiser, members were able to bond and have a great time together. They watched videos, played games, and talked for hours. Shoutout to those affiliated with the Monterey Park Kiwanis and those in division ten south for coming out. Thank you to everyone that came and supported us! -Sally Duong, Historian

“

The fact that it is so close is great. All in all, the Tenren fund was a lot of fun! I was able to talk to members there and share some laughs and experiences. - Ryan Chan Senior Representative
