What is Handball? Handball is one of the world’s most popular sports, is profile having been raised at the 2016 Olympics at Rio. Each handball team features seven players, who compete passing a ball with their hands, with the objective of getting the ball into the other team’s goal.


Handball is popular throughout Europe today, with professional leagues in France, Spain, Germany, and Hungary. The EHF Champions League brings together the best clubs across the continent to compete. With the exception of goalkeepers, players are only allowed to touch the ball using parts of the body above the knee. The side that scores the most goals wins. In this high-action sport, a standard game lasts 60 minutes, with teams often scoring more than 20 goals throughout the course of a match. Handball is popular throughout Europe today, with professional leagues in France, Spain, Germany, and Hungary. The EHF Champions League brings together the best clubs across the continent to compete. Several famous football clubs also have their own handball teams, including Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. The word’s top-performing handball player is Nikola Karabatic, who plays for the French National Team and Paris Saint-Germain. Karabatic has won two Olympic told medals in the sport, as well as four World Championship gold medals and three European Championship golds. Regarded as one of the most accomplished players in the history of the sport, Nikola Karabatic is a threetime IHF World Player of the Year, having won the title in 2016, 2014, and 2016.
