>> DORIC JOIN FORCES WITH EREBUS MERCEDES >> WILL ON A MISSION IN ‘15 >> JB’s BACK WITH SALLY
I would like to officially welcome you to our Doric/ Cowdroy corporate suite for what should be a spectacular weekend of racing. We’re very proud of two exciting changes to our 2015 program. Firstly, introducing ALG sister company Cowdroy, joining Doric in our 2015 program and secondly, our new partnership with Erebus Mercedes Motorsport. It’s great to have Will Davison on board once again as our Doric brand ambassador, especially as he continues his role at Erebus Motorsport, behind the wheel of the AMG Mercedes V8 Supercar. Our Doric Racing family had a brilliant run in 2014 with all our sponsored teams and drivers raising the bar once again, so let’s hope that continues this year. Doric is proud of our various associations in motorsport and we’re excited to be introducing Cowdroy to the program, with the 2015 season marking Doric’s eleventh straight year delivering money can’t buy experiences for our valued clients and staff. Our sponsorships have taken our brand exposure to a new level & helped raise the professionalism and image of the Doric brand and we hope to continue this exposure for the Cowdroy brand. Drivers Will Davison and John Bowe are great ambassadors and we are proud to be associated with such a professional and front running team in Erebus Motorsport. We have received some fantastic coverage from the Doric logos placed on the inside of the car as well as on Will’s racing suit and helmet, and we hope that can grow again this year with Doric branding now splashed across the #9 Erebus Mercedes and Cowdroy branding on #4. Our new association with Erebus also extends to their GT program, which will take the Doric brand to Asian markets thanks to a global racing program. Our longest running ambassador is motorsport legend John Bowe. JB drove for PCR in his final season on the V8 Supercar circuit in 2007 and we have supported JB in his current venture in the Touring Car Masters series driving ‘Mustang Sally’. JB is entertaining, engaging and a legend who continues to deliver value for the Doric business. Motorsport is competitive, exciting, passionate and innovative. We at Doric and Cowdroy stand for all those values. We hope you enjoy your day at the race track with Doric and Cowdroy; it is a pleasure to host you in our private suite. I look forward to speaking with you here at track and moving forward in business together.

GT RACING + V8 SUPERCARS >>
www.doric.com.au >> facebook.com/doricracing >> twitter.com/doricracing >> 9 While its history is short, Erebus Motorsport has become one of the most talked about teams in Australia since it burst onto the scene just four years ago. Erebus began life in the Australian GT Championship, when team owner, Betty Klimenko, became the first person outside of Europe to purchase an SLS AMG GT3 race car. In 2012, the GT team expanded to two SLS Gullwings and widened their interest in the Australian motorsport landscape, entering the Aussie Racing Cars Series. At the end of 2012, the squad was elevated to worldwide fame, announcing its plans to bring the Mercedes Benz nameplate to V8 Supercars. Taking over one of the most successful teams in Australian Touring Car history, Stone Brothers Racing, Erebus vowed to bring a whole new approach to the V8 Supercars Championship. And so they did. With the introduction of the Car of the Future regulations to the V8 category, Erebus fielded two Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 V8 Supercars throughout the 2013 season. That year Klimenko became the first female team owner in V8 Supercars and also the first female team owner to win a Bathurst 12 Hour event. The colourful businesswoman became famous for her straight-talking, quirky style and changed the V8 Supercars landscape forever. On top of their V8 Supercar commitments, the team continue to field Gullwings in the Australian GT Championship, as well as an entry in the V8 Ute Racing Series.

SYMMONS PLAINS RECAP >>
Despite being dealt more than his fair share of bad luck, Will Davison walked away from the second round of the V8 Supercar Championship feeling optimistic about the 2015 season. Davison proved the Erebus Mercedes is on the right track, qualifying near the front of the field all weekend and picking up his first top ten race finish of the year at the Tasmania SuperSprint event. “We’ve got to make sure we keep the momentum going forwards,” said Will. Will qualified fourth and ninth for the two Saturday races. After getting turned around in the opening race and finishing 17th, he made up for it with a seventh place finish in the second race. After another fine qualifying performance on Sunday, Will started fourth on the grid for the final Tasmanian race. However another innocent incident on the opening lap of the race, saw Will fall to 23rd. “When you’ve worked so hard and you get up the front, to be on the second row twice and for it to go pear-shaped twice within three corners when it was no fault of my own in either of them, it’s hard to take. But there’s no point dwelling on it.” “The positives are if we keep being competitive and keep being up the front, we’re going to get results. So everyone in the team should be really pumped and it gives us a spring in our step to keep going and keep pushing.”

12 >> Doric Racer >> Perth 2015 Doric Racing made its GT debut at the Bathurst 12 Hour on February 6-8, splashed across the side of the #63 Erebus Motorsport Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3. The slick racer was driven by the team’s young gun squad, including Nathan Morcom, Austin Cindric and Simon Hodge. Suffering mechanical issues throughout the race, the team fought hard for a commendable 21st place in the endurance race. “Going into The Cutting the back stepped out which was caused by a tyre issue which spun us around,” said Morcom. “We had to bring the car inside the garage after that and we went down about 17 laps which was a pity, but in my last stint at the end of the race we were doing good times and I bought the car home in 21st.” Doric Ambassador John Bowe also kicked off his 2015 racing season at the 12 hour, competing alongside David Brabham and Peter Edwards in a Bentley Continental. After qualifying 15th for Sunday’s race, the #8 Bentley’s hopes of a solid finish came crashing down with just 14 laps remaining. Running in 11th place 254 laps in, the Bentley came to blows with an Aston Martin and was forced to retire to the pits. “The race ended in tears for us,” said Bowe. “Brabs was in the car to the finish and only a few laps from the end was flat sided by a turkey in an Aston Martin. “It was a fantastic event, as it has been for a few years. “Other than my stupid rookie mistake on my first out lap the whole Flying B Racing team performed faultlessly.”

Doric Ambassador Will Davison is going full steam ahead in the 2015 V8 Supercar Championship, continuing his strong run of form at the last round in Tasmania. A strong performance, including twice qualifying on the second row of the grid, at Symmons Plains in March with Erebus Motorsport, is further evidence that Davison is well on his way to success this year. Focusing on making the most of every opportunity on track, and not deterred by on track incidents, Davison is confident the #9 Mercedes will soon be a force to be reckoned with. “We’ve got to make sure we keep the momentum going forwards,” said Davison “That’s our whole priority and focus now, competitiveness, so as a whole that’s just awesome. “We’ve improved in a key area and we know we’ve got more to come. “The positives are if we keep being competitive and keep being up the front, we’re going to get results. So everyone in the team should be really pumped and it gives us a spring in our step to keep going and keep pushing. “It just makes us hungrier and more motivated getting a sniff of it.”

18 >> Doric Racer >> Perth 2015 Doric Ambassador John Bowe returns to defend his 2014 title in the Touring Car Masters Series this year. Again at the helm of his famous 1969 Ford Mustang Trans Am nicknamed ‘Sally’, Bowe is looking to collect his fourth championship trophy in 2015. Bowe stamped his authority on the popular category in 2014, taking a clean sweep of all seven pole positions throughout the season and setting a new series record in the process. But 2015 looks set to be the toughest season on record, with five of the most well-known names from Australian Touring Car history going headto-head this year. Double ATCC/V8 Supercars champion Glenn Seton, people’s champion Jim Richards, Touring car ace Andrew Miedecke and Tasmanian star Greg Crick all join the stellar driving lineup in the TCM this year. The Clipsal 500 was a mixed affair for Bowe, with pole position and two top ten race finishes as well as a DNF. Despite missing the second round of the series to undergo surgery on his right hand, Bowe is eager to get back behind the wheel for the round three at Winton later this month.

Things are certainly looking up for Doric racer, Will Davison. While 2015 has failed to deliver much in the way of results so far, some great speed from the #9 Mercedes at the Tasmania round is a promise of great things to come. The tricky Barbagallo circuit has proven fruitful for Will in the past, with the star driver having finished on the podium three times at the Western Australian track over the last six years. But the tight 2.42km race track is not an easy
one master, with a tricky surface and wind-swept sand causing havoc, while passing opportunities are hard to come by. The Perth event will again utilise the Super Sprint format, which includes three races over the weekend. Saturday will see drivers contest two 100km races, before a 200km race on Sunday. If his recent speed is anything to go by, Will should be challenging at the front of the field in the #9 Mercedes Benz AMG E63.

Will Davison’s inaugural V8 Supercar campaign for his new Erebus team at the Barbagallo Raceway track, in the northern reaches of Perth, ended in disappointment last year Across three races his best finish was seventh,
a lack of straight-line speed and engine torque telling as he battled the long straight and high speeds of the West Australian track. Will qualified 7th and 6th for the opening races on Saturday. While he held on to maintain a seventh place finish in the first race, car trouble saw him drop to 17th in the second race. Sunday failed to bring any more joy, with a punctured tyre relegating Will to 24th place. “Barbagallo showed up just how much work we still need to do with our engines,” Will Davison admitted at the time. “I know it’s coming but it’s hard to be patient.”
