Gourmet Seafood & Crab Cake – 3 oz (927410 – 4/2.5 lb)

Fish is healthy! So people should order a lot of it! Yet, sometimes fish items on the menu are not popular – even during Lent. The fish on your menu should be flavorful and featured in order to realize strong sales.

Fish Is Healthy!

The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that we eat at least two 4-ounce servings of seafood a week. This is because seafood is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for a healthy brain, heart and eyes. Consumption of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA are associated with a reduction in fatal heart disease and heart arrhythmias. Low levels of DHA in the diet have even been associated with a greater risk of Alzheimer’s disease in later years. So, everyone should eat more fish to get those nutrients!

Perfect for a dynamic plate presentation and great taste.

Cheddar Crumb Encrusted Pollock – 5 oz (938080 – 1/10 lb) Alaskan Pollock topped with a cheddar crumb coating. Alaskan Whitefish Burger – 3.2 oz (928290 – 1/10 lb) Burgers are hot! Bring them to your Lent Specials menu with this great item! Made from wild-caught Pollock and seasoned with a flavorful herb blend.

Make It Flavorful!

The attributes currently most commonly cited as being craveable in food are fresh, spicy, salty, crunchy, fried and buttery, and craveability is the number one reason cited by consumers for visiting a seafood restaurant. Habanero, sriracha, aioli, wasabi, jalapeño, BBQ, yuzu, harissa, remoulade, chimichurri and togarashi are just some of the flavors and ingredients currently considered to be the most craveable. Use some of these trends to flavor up your menu! (Source: Trident Seafoods and The NPD Group)

FPI® Hush Puppy Pangasius – 2-3 oz (926440 – 1/10 lb) Hand-breaded, home-style taste of hush puppies with herbs and spices brings great flavor and visual appeal to this pangasius. FPI® Lemon Pepper Tilapia – 3-4 oz (925030 – 1/10 lb) A zesty lemon-pepper breadcrumb coating gives this tilapia an amazing taste. FPI® Atlantic Salmon – 6 oz (928840 – 1/10 lb) Atlantic Salmon from Chile delivers appealing color and rich flavor.

Feature It!

Lent is March 1 – April 16, 2017! • Offer an every-day seafood special during Lent. 74% of Lent observers say they believe it is important that restaurants offer seafood specials during Lent. (Source: Trident Seafoods and Flavor & the Menu) • Offer an extra-special Friday special during Lent. Seafood sales can jump by 50% or more on Fridays during Lent, so give your customers a reason to come back each Friday. (Source: Trident Seafoods and Inc.com)

Grill Mates® Seafood Seasoning (472021 – 1/23 oz) Add big, bold flavor featuring lemon, garlic and cedar smoke. Great on fish, beef, poultry, pork and vegetables.

SENIOR LIVING

MARKETING TO BABY

BOOMERS Erika Kramer Martin Bros. Healthcare Market Developer

hear more tips for marketing to seniors!

When considering how to market your facility to baby boomers, here are six things to consider:

1.

While more and more baby boomers continue to join in on the social media craze and surf the web, they still spend much of their “screen time” watching television. In addition, many still enjoy reading newspapers and magazines. Make sure you are marketing across all of these channels.

2.

Make your message clear. Consider images, fonts and colors that express the most information and are easy on the eyes.

3.

Everyone likes to feel that their individual needs will be met. Make sure to provide customized options and show them how you put each person’s needs into perspective. Show them that they can trust your facility for their comfort and care.

4.

Show examples of how, even though leaving a current home is a change, the change can be a positive one.

5.

Although incentives can be costly, sometimes their effectiveness and efficiency outweigh their costs. Try a monthly special or an introductory offer, for instance, and you could see an increase in business and great return business, as well.

6.

Word-of-mouth marketing is huge. Partner with businesses and individuals who work with seniors and can get the word out about your facility. Some great businesses and people to partner with, for example, are home care agencies, geriatric doctors/physicians, hospitals and realtors.

Legacy® Floor Mixers “Hobart Mixers are great! According to Hobart, they know of one of their mixers that has been running since 1914. Now that’s low cost of ownership!” To make a mixer that would live up to the tradition of Hobart longevity and dependability, the engineers at Hobart created a special motor design. In contrast to mixer motors that go from zero to full rpm in one burst, Hobart’s motor gradually increases rpm. This extends the overall life of the mixer by reducing pressure on critical components. The gears and shaft—made of heat-treated, hardened alloy steel—are sized to handle higher loads, as are the bearings. The motor and drive controller are heavy duty, specially sized to handle high-load applications. They can consistently work through tough dough recipes without bogging down, again extending the overall life of the machine. Making Legacy® mixers even more durable is their silver finish, which adds an extra layer of protection. Available in 30-, 40-, 60-, 80- and 140-quart models.
