Martin Studied at Ipswich Art School between 94 to 96. During this time he had a near death experience (which haunted him and his health for many years) - in times of recuperation his world happened inside his mind - ‘to appreciate the small things’ in life, this became his inspiration, to go upon a journey of discovery which evolved into his own view through USB : Arts.

Combining a curiosity for art history, science and civilisations, Martin travelled across the globe to explore the similarities between different landscapes and culture. Taking six universal characteristics found within nature that connect us in a 'cause and effect’ to give the look and feel of an object - to contemplate our observed world history.

The paste works in this impromtu show, look at the things I look to in nature to inspire the art works created for the Nature's Inspired Landscape exhibition. to take the viewer on a curious adventure! - the same journey as the artist, which becon's the viewer to experience a therapeutic exploration of the objects that too often go over looked from our everyday landscape, to appreciate the beauty within entropy.

To observe colour and texture upon the surface of a ‘collection’ of things connected to the memories of Martin’s expeditions. To understand the effect of weather impaction and human interaction upon the landscape we inhabit. Whilst adding to the art conversation with contemporary thoughts on modern art that's gone before.

What would Darwin do? if he walked along in my shoes? I wondered would he utilise the collective experience available today through modern understanding, found in (old fashioned) books, TV documentaries or the plethora of Ted Talks to plant his mind with ideas? To generate thinking centred around our natural world with mankind’s knowledge of the connections between philosophy, chemistry, physics, biology and art.

To look at the world with a view upon colour, texture and composition - to originate a contemporary visual language with elegance to objectify the past. To plant a seed and watch it grow in a lifetime.

The wind was howling as the rain fell steadily, with the occasional ice blast caused shard like glass upon any exposed skin. The distant lamp-posts the only light source available to seethe pathway ahead, the dirtway overgrown with nature's ever so slow progeress - remembering a piece of graffiti further up the wall stating 'too windy' that made more sense now!

In the silence of night exactly seven days after the success of the private viewing for art exhibition 'Natures Inspired Landscape' at the Sub Arts gallery in IP11XF on 15/03/19.

Martin Carter put on a paper paste Pop-Up photography show along the River Walk to share with the public of IP1. A mixture of surfaces collected from around the globe.

With this collection of Paste-Up photos seleced to show a wide diversity of colour and texture to be found in everyday enviroments where we live.

It is important to travel and explore new landscapes to expand upon what we learn to appreciate.

A portrait of landscapes found when (street walking) Suffolk, London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and Sydney, to look back at things that no longer exist, this show is also now in the past weather took effect but some remain.

These past expeditions taken in pursuit to locate civilisation's creativity and ingenuity (to find art) in our every day places to enhance my own imagination, and maybe we can share a view? we must allow for future human expression to prevail to actually care for something that isn't self centric.

So what is ‘Something?’

Start from nothing, this gives us the possibility to build something, anything and everything - but what are things really made of?

Firstly things are known to be made from matter, and matter is made up of molecules. Molecules are made up of things we call atoms and atoms make up all of the elementary particles.

There are four ‘organic’ molecules which make up all earth life.

Zoom in close enough on anything and we can observe that every thing is made up from only seventeen particles, which form three underlying catagories: Quarks, Leptons and Bosons, which group to become protons and neurons.

Quarks and Leptons fuse to make nuclei of atoms. Atoms make everything we see and touch. Whereas Bosons effect what particles can do and how they can do it. The Bosons are governed by four forces, which are understood to be the (known) Rules of the universe.

How can we see things?

Our eyes see the colours of ‘things’ through the electromagnetic spectrum. The colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. But we can only see in a limited colour range (widely believed) because the first form of eyes developed under water, which acts as prism.

Colour information is received by the tiny photoreceptors in the macula (within the retina of our eyes) called ‘Cone’ receptors, these pick up light in Red, Green and Blue wave lengths.

Using an additive colour system, RGB light (when merged) creates millions of possible colours to see, primarily Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. (but printed colours that we see) are printed using CMYK colour.

There are around 7 million Cones found in the retina, as well as other receptors known as ‘Rods’ which total around 120 million, their function is to receive light in tones (black, white and grey) to allow depth.

Rods detect the form and shape of things and are responsible for sight in low light as well as distance.

What is UNSEENBEAUTY - TAoE? The ability to observe millions of different colours, textures and layers within natural composition found in every day places.

Looking at the effects of weather impaction, along with human interaction upon the surface of the things we see all around us.
