Infill scenario Summer Vs. winter
SAND
flexibility of the structure allows for a varying fill of sand controlling thickness that would manipulate environmental factors, having a high R value in winter, air penetration and shade in the summer.
Sand infill fabric structure adjustability
Shrinking space Environmental Sensitivity
while easy to empty in order to move and fill again with sand from the new camping location, sand offers the factor of stability that raises sense of security against the elements of nature.
increasing wall thickness shrinks the space due to the fabric becoming less stretched out, making the space more cozy in winter and easier to heat up.

No2 Medical Services building
an extension building to an existing hospital, i was prompted to provide a certain number of parking spaces required by the municipality and ministry of health to upgrade the lscence of the original building intoa fully functional hospital. in addition to providing housing for nurses and doctors, hospital kitchen & laundry facilities, administration offices and meeting halls landing my first real real project during university, it was evident my education prepared me well as the initial work of gathering information and revising building codes went smoothly. i formed a small team of both younger and older architects to insure work is properly revised before submission. the client requirements proved to be difficult but we were able to exceed the needed amount of parking spaces & beds without sacrificing any other functions. our design was proposed as and option among other practicing architects teams and our proposal was the one selected for execution. i successfully managed the delivery of the project in superb presentation quality, on time and following all building codes and municipality requirements.

No3 Mediating dichotomy ismalia art hub
set in ismalia a service city on the verge of evolving is struggling with a stagnant economy, and dormant population due to a majority of gov. employees in the city perpetuating passiveness. a deterrent of youth & talent, ismalia’s nature of it previous state being a service city is posing as an obstacle to future development and expansion calling for an intervention of minds.
the project studies the possibilities of utilizing art as a political mediator and a a creator of public spaces that encourage a creatively active mindset as opposed to the current passive and dormant mindset of ismalia residents who deter anyone who does not fall within this mindset. the project utilities the historical progression of art from escapism to romanticism to realism to benefit from such transition that could drive ismalia’s minds out of the passive mindset using an array of artistic functions responding to the nature & needs of every district, the project also utilities elements of ismalia that contribute to dormancy of the minds and subsequently dormancy of the city, flipping these exact factors to counter its original effects.

No4 Capturing Passion
during an online semester with little workload i started experimenting and trying out different fields.
being certain that the local architecture scene is not ready for the school of though in architecture i was exposed to in university. in a search for a field or even hobby that would satisfy my passion for design i experimented with several fields. architecture after doing freelance project i was demotivated by the uninformed power of the client controlling design decisions while disregarding architectural values and crucial architectural qualities. Leaving me feeling like being part of process of failure due to the nature of local clients who hire designers but treat them as drafters. construction a field that lacked brainwork, lacked challenge and is driven by the ability of one to follow a set of rules and guides. i did enjoy handson work and seeing the outcome right away instead of just on paper. interior design a very interesting field that left me immersing myself in design, to the extent that i became so emotionally attached to the spaces i am creating in a way that would leave me in a state of heartbreak when a client is not able to comprehend the depth of such design work.

after small furniture design and execution trials i felt a great potential in being in control of a furniture piece and treating it with utmost care in detail dealing with such a friendly material such as wood.
Designing a piece felt like treating a babe from being just an idea to the phase where it is a furniture piece that stands on its own and speaks its own character and able to support and comfort me using it.

No6 Glass Up-cycling hub
located in the main car market of Cairo, the site witnesses an area that housed the founding entrepreneurs of the car parts industry in cairo. After the expansion of cairo, al tawfikeya lost its essence of being a hub for the industry that catalyzed progression through being the intersection of the car parts industry.
Accordingly the Design aims to unlock new possibilities by re-involving the city bringing entrepreneurs who can utilize expertise and abundance of materials in achieving development connecting al tawfikeya to other industries to enable further progression. The design revolves around introducing, enabling and maintaining an up-cycling ecosystem that connects street vendors with young entrepreneurs with big industry names.
