JUNE RECAP

│Portland Area Rally: Lake Bible Church│

│Tacoma Area Rally: Mt Tahoma High school│

│International Convention: Anaheim│

│Portland Area Rally│ On June 21st key clubbers all over Oregon gathered to Lake Bible Church. Morty the moose made his very first public appearance, in addition Key Clubbers were introduced to a very special guest, who spoke on human trafficking. Officers were trained and PAR made over 400 dollars in their miracle minute. 200+ lives were saved on June 21st. And of course Officers were Pied!

│Tacoma Area Rally│ As the seasons of Rallies we kicked it off with an amazing turn out. On June 28th over 150 key clubbers from the south side of Washington came together at Mt. Tahoma High School. With guest from Oregon it was a fabulous day! And it was truly service under the sun!

“I have to say my favorite part of the entire convention was probably the atmosphere during all the general sessions. Rarely does the world ever get some many dedicated young men and women gathered together with a passion and love for serving others! --Daniel McCormak, New Jersey, District Treasurer

INTERNATIONAL

This year Key Club goes to Disneyland! International Convention was held in Anaheim California. We said good bye to our International Trustee Roshni, and the rest of our international board and welcomed a new group of talented individuals, including our very own Kevin Zhang as International Vice President! PNW Danced the night away as well as watch fireworks under the amazing castles. It has truly been a wonderful year!

CONVENTION

Now a word from you International Vice President! Hello Pacific Northwest District Key Clubbers! Over this past week, I along with 39 other PNW Key Clubbers and six Kiwanis chaperones had the opportunity to attend the 71st annual International Convention in the vibrant city of Anaheim, California. While there, we had the opportunity to attend educational workshops, meet Key Clubbers from across the world, and elect the 20142015 Key Club International Board. I am truly humbled and honored to announce that I was chosen out of a field of four other highly qualified candidates to be your next International Vice President. My biggest support throughout the entire journey, from the moment I decided to run until my name was announced on stage, was the entire Pacific Northwest District. So let me take this time to thank every single one of you- all 13,000+ members. It was your support that got me through not only ICON week but the months leading up to it. Thank you to everyone that messaged be “good luck and to all of those that congratulated me afterwards. Even though many of you did not attend ICON 2014, I still felt as if all of you were alongside me. I look forward to personally thanking many of you as I travel to some of the upcoming area rallies. To all the graduating seniors, even though I will not have the opportunity to serve you for this upcoming year, I hope that many of you will decide to join Circle K in college and eventually Kiwanis. Once again, THANK YOU to the mighty Pacific Northwest District! I look forward to yet another fantastic year of service, friendship, and growth not only for Key Club International but also for our district! In Service,

Kevin Zhang Kevin Zhang Key Club International Vice President zhangkevin2015@gmail.com 360.250.3999

SPOTLIGHTS Michelle Phung, VP Roosevelt Key club

Why Michelle? Michelle has been finding events for her Key Clubbers in the summer, communicates with me on her schedule, and has turned in all of her reports! In addition to key club Michelle is traveling to China through her immersion work with One World Now. Michelle has done a spectacular job as VP so far and I can’t wait to work with her though out the year1

Celine deserves this spotlight this month because of what she has done the previous months. This is Celine’s first year in Key Club and as It goes Celine has not only have been involved but is also juggling extra circulars, such as costuming Kiss Me Kate!

Celine Noh, Member Roosevelt Key Club
