KEY RELEASES As an owner, you have the option to allow friends or family to use your reservation. In order to allow a guest to check in to your reservation, you will submit a key release, which is a written authorization allowing your guest to check in.

Owners will receive (1) free key release per year, per contract (account). For any additional key release received in that same calendar year, the cost will be $20.00 per key release. For payment of any key release fee, speak to your Reservations team.

INDUSTRY NEWS Please be aware that Massanutten® is consistently made aware of companies that defraud owners like you out of thousands of dollars with the promise of selling or renting their timeshare. These companies typically promise they can sell/ rent your timeshare, allege they have a ready buyer/ renter and usually charge large upfront fees. There are also relief companies which typically claim that you can be released from your contract and/or relieved of your annual maintenance/ assessment fees. Some of these companies even allege they have a relationship with Massanutten®.

OF SCAMS

Don’t be tricked by professional-looking ads, documents, websites, or certain business ratings. These resale and relief companies usually shut down after a few years when they start to feel the pressure of government agencies or mounting lawsuits and simply start a new company. Be suspicious of companies that claim to be consumer advocates. Contact the State Attorney General and local consumer protection agencies in the state where the reseller is located to determine if there are any existing complaints. You can also check the company’s rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Their aim is to set up a meeting with you at a location not on resort property to discuss your ownership, usually under the premise of you not being

able to use your timeshare due to COVID-19 with an offer to waive your maintenance fees or getting rid of your timeshare. Please be aware of any meeting that does not take place at the resort. The resort does not schedule meetings anywhere other than on resort property.

Now open at Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club! Try your hand at delivering some stones and before you know it, you’ll be a pro with our new Indoor Street Curling at MFRC. Street Curling uses synthetic ice to create a crowd-pleasing iceless curling experience. We have different types of stones to ensure that everyone can experience the fun.

Curling has similarities to shuffleboard and involves sliding granite stones, also called rocks, into a target area at the other end of a long, thin strip of ice which constitutes the “pitch”. Spring Classic GO LF TO U R NAM ENT The Massanutten Spring Classic was hosted on May 15 at Mountain Greens Golf Course®. Each participant was asked to donate a ham to play, and Massanutten was able to donate a total of 67 hams to the Elkton Area United Services (EAUS) to help feed local families!

A FUN FISHING DAY AT PAI NTER ’ S P O N D! Massanutten hosted the Rockingham County Parks & Recreation 2021 Annual Kids Fishing Day and Special Olympics Fishing Day at Painter’s Pond. It was a huge success: 200 kids caught approximately 1000-1200 fish with 27 trophies being awarded for first, second, and third largest fish (by weight) across three different age groups. In each session, a trophy was awarded for any golden trout caught. We were thankful to host such a special event!
