Karen’s Korner Happy Windy Spring?! Anyway, it's hard to believe that in about a month, we will be at graduation for WIU and MHS (among others). The flowers are starting to come up (at least at some of our neighbors houses :) We are already looking forward to the summer tutoring program and then looking ahead to the Bazaar. Spring will also bring our opportunity to grow our club as well; if you have friends or even family members that might be interested, have them check us out! We are a fun bunch, right? Soon, we will also be distributing books to local child care centers from the donations we will be receiving from generous WIU students. What an awesome project to be a part of. Certainly, we will be looking to begin planning for next year. If you have ideas on how to recruit members or even fun activities or speakers, please be sure to let us know. Thank you for all that you do for our club and our community, Karen Trusley, Club President

March 2016 Meeting notes

The Finance Committee hosted the meeting and gave Jan a gift of a fresh flower bouquet in an Altrusa mug. Here Finance Committee member Marsha McCormick with Jan Fritz and Macomb club President, Karen Trusley. Jan Fritz, the District Six Second Vice Governor and member of the Altrusa Club of Quincy was our very special visitor for our March 2016 meeting. Club members enjoyed a potluck dinner and then Jan shared District Six news and information and also shared fundraising and service project ideas from her own club experiences.
