“Just a minute with a member Each month we will feature a Macomb Altrusan - to learn a little bit more about each other!

Say Hello to Ann Abbott, our Recording Secretary and our featured member of the month! Ann, tell us a little bit about yourself! I came to Macomb in 1978 from Sheldons Grove. I met my husband on a blind date that his mother had set up and we have been happily married for 25 years. I have two stepchildren and four stepgrandchildren ranging in the ages from 19 to 9. I have one brother who lives in Panama and two sisters that live in the area. What type of work have you done? I have worked in the financial field for over 30 years.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to travel. Our son is career Navy, so we have had the chance to travel abroad and throughout the states and our daughter lives in Florida. I have also had the chance to travel to Panama to visit my brother and family. I love to read, walking, and doing Sudoku puzzles. How did you get involved with Altrusa? For many years, I attended the Bazaar. After talking to Kathy Wyatt about Altrusa and loving to do volunteer work, the rest is history. How have you been involved with Altrusa? I have served as Co-Chair and Chairman of the Membership Committee and now serve on the board as the Recording Secretary. What do you like best about being a member of Altrusa? Making new friends through Altrusa and knowing that the volunteer work is helping the community.
