Dear Theatregoers, I am delighted to welcome you to St Helens Theatre Royal and it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to our brand-new Autumn - Spring season. 2017 has been a hugely successful year, from the success of our youth theatre group scooping 2 awards at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association Awards, to taking home the title Best Small Business at the Liverpool Lifestyle Awards, we’ve once again proved ourselves to be a hub of world class live entertainment.

One of the best-selling recording artists of the 1960s, Billy Fury enjoyed a string of hit singles totalling a remarkable 332 weeks in the British charts. Health problems since childhood led to the singer’s untimely death on January 28, 1983.

Giving you a taste of the Lindy Hop dance moves of the Forties are the energetic and exciting SWING TIME JIVERS.

2017 commemorates over 30 years since the untimely passing of Billy Fury, however it is reassuring to know that his name and music is far from forgotten. The Billy Fury Years is quite simply ‘The Ultimate Billy Fury show to ever hit the stage’.

A classic fairytale set to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score, stunning choreography, beautiful costumes all combine to portray the struggle between good and evil. The wicked Carbosse casts a spell on Princess Aurora proclaiming that she will one day prick her finger - and die. The Lilac Fairy changes the spell, and instead on the fateful day the Princess and the entire Palace fall into a deep sleep. A century later Prince Florimund revives the Princess with a kiss, the Palace awakes and a parade of fairytale characters attend the wedding. Following the traditional tale of Sleeping Beauty, this ballet is sure to enchant audiences of all ages.
