MISSION
3Degrees’ mission is to mitigate the effects of climate change by accelerating the development of a low-carbon renewable energy economy.
3Degrees Inc. is not alone in this mission—there are thousands of technology and service firms around the world who are trying realize this mission as well. However, unlike most of these firms, 3Degrees helps make a poorly understood but extremely powerful tool for accelerating the low carbon energy development. The environmental markets will be intelligent, efficient and reliable. Environmental markets, and the commodities in these markets, such as Renewable Energy Certificates and verified carbon offsets, provide a flexible, market based mechanism to encourage renewable energy development and reduce a big percentage of greenhouse gas emissions.
There are more than fifty environmental markets exist in the U.S. and around the world today. These markets have proven that they can and do work, and can be very effective in the effort to cope with the climate change. The U.S. SOx and NOx market has dramatically reduced acid rain in the U.S. at a cost much lower than predicted, leading The Economist to name it “probably the greatest green success story” of the 1990s.In the book Pricing Carbon, MIT and International Energy Agency scientists found that the Kyoto Protocol’s EU ETS reduced greenhouse gas emissions by between 2 to 5 percent compared to business as usual scenarios, resulting in up to 300 million metric tons of savings of carbon renewed.
The United States Renewable Energy Certificate market, along with federal and state tax incentives, has helped increase U.S. wind and solar capacity by 600 percent since 2002. However, for environmental markets to work, their participants need to be able to utilize these markets to build value. And that is what 3Degrees enables its partners to do.

Corporate Profile:
Task:
The name 3Degrees, the firm’s founders do remind themselves, their employees and their partners that climate change is not an abstract concept, but a real present danger requiring action now. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report concluded that by 2100 the Earth’s temperature might rise between 2 to 4 degrees Celsius with a best estimate of about 3 degrees Celsius if the we do not lower carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions.
3Degrees helps organizations buy, sell and market environmental renewable energy sources including the renewable energy certificates and verified carbon offsets. 3Degrees teams with organizations that aim to build environmental safe energy for customers, investors and even employees. Being able to team up with different organizations, 3Degrees tries to develop an environment of renewable energy economy through projects such as wind farms, which has created more than 15 full-time local jobs in Elk City, wind farms near Tarkio, Missouri, solar panel systems that has provided the Milpitas Unified School District.
To help 3Degrees stand out from other renewable energy source competitors, their identity has to come out clean, speak new, top energy source, portray an understanding of partnership to help improve the environment. Re-new 3Degrees website and corporate booklet providing consumers and partnership opportunities to become involved. The target market is to consumers along with 3Degrees employers, non profits and the government. Main Competitor: The Massachusetts Clean Energy www.masscec.com

SIGNATURE
3 Degrees Inc.’s signature is used to represent our organization in all its activities. This signature is the foundation of our new identity program, and it appears on a wide variety of media and implementation materials such as stationery, forms, printed literature and signs. The signature consists of only two elements: the symbol and the logotype. These elements are linked together in a unified arrangement. Because the signature is a registered trademark, the relationship between the elements are never altered. This ensures legal protectability, builds recognition and reinforces our position as a green corporation that assists organizations to build environmental safe energy.

The signature is always reproduced from approved reproduction artwork. The signatures should never be constructed or redrawn. However, in certain approved circumstances, it may be necessary to recreate the signature (e.g., signs). In the event that construction is necessary and pre-approved, the following example shows the relative sizes and placement of signature components. Placement is specified in units of “X.” X equals the height of the box in the 3Degrees. (See demonstration drawing under Clear Space).

Fonts
To help establish a consistent look and feel across a broad range of implementation materials, 2 type families have been selected for use on all media. These are Calvert MT Std and Univers LT Std. Together they provide for a great deal of versatility. Specimens of the most commonly used typefaces within these families are shown. Numerous versions of Calvert MT Std are produced by different manufacturers. All fonts used should match the samples shown on these pages. Do not substitute other typefaces in place of those specified. Never scale, condense, expand or otherwise modify any existing letterforms. If special circumstances require the use of other typefaces, contact the Design Department for approval.

Minimum Size
As the signature becomes smaller, it also becomes more difficult to read and recognize. The minimum allowable size is shown below. Less detailed types of reproduction (e.g., newspapers or screenprinting) may require larger sizes.
