TAFE Queensland East Coast has welcomed a new General Manager, with Paul Wilson joining the organisation to lead the business into the future. The challenge of guiding the largest training provider in the region through an increasingly competitive marketplace is no small task, but is something Mr Wilson is looking forward to.

Bright Business Decisions

I am delighted to have been appointed to the position of General Manager, TAFE Queensland East Coast and am eager to lead the organisation through the next period of change, as we enter the new VET market in Queensland.

I’m passionate about making a difference for our community’s students and have a strong background in the education sector, with previous roles including the Chief Executive Officer at Tai Poutini Polytechnic in New Zealand and Community College Gippsland in Victoria.

It is this knowledge and expertise I’m able to apply to the position and I share TAFE Queensland’s vision in providing high quality training, recognised and valued by employers throughout the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia and beyond.

I feel privileged to be a part of TAFE Queensland as we move into the future and I want this region to create an experience for our students that we can all be proud of. We have a strong history as the state’s most experienced training provider, with TAFE Queensland delivering VET education for more than 130 years, giving graduates practical skills that lead to employment.

I’m looking forward to this role and to meeting local businesses across the Sunshine Coast to create training solutions for our local employers and students, and to meet the needs of our growing region.

We have a lot to be proud of and I know there are exciting times ahead for TAFE Queensland East Coast.

A true blend of business & pleasure with a twist of generosity

It’s becoming harder and harder to find independently owned, rapidlygrowing, successful companies with over 50 employees here on the Sunshine Coast, let alone ones with founders who have a genuine altruistic concern for human welfare. Ausfit is one such company which started from humble beginnings back in 1992 and grew from a one-man band, to one of Australia’s leading payment services providers to the Health and Fitness industry. Ausfit grew slowly and steadily until, in 2007, a chance opportunity which was forged off the back of some solid, long-term relationships with some key figures in the Health and Fitness industry, saw the growth of Ausfit skyrocket! The team went on to double and triple in size until today, where the current headcount sits at 51. Marc Osmond and Teena Osborne, Ausfit’s founders, could have taken the business anywhere in Australia however they chose to remain in beautiful Noosa where they, along with their three kids, call home. It also means that Ausfit’s employees get to benefit by combining working for a dynamic and inspiring company, with the lifestyle that the Sunshine Coast offers. True entrepreneurs in every sense of the word, Marc and Teena are also genuine philanthropists and are always looking at ways to give back to the community.

That’s why they introduced People First which is a program that enables Ausfit’s major client, Anytime Fitness, to run fundraising initiatives in their clubs in order to support charities in their communities. Since its inception in October 2013, Ausfit’s People First program, has donated over $24,000 to charity organisations. In addition, Teena is working with local charity, Sunshine Butterflies, to help raise money for a piece of land they are about to purchase in order to construct their own purpose built premises, where they can expand the already amazing work they do improving the lives of children with disabilities. With additional office space now secured in Noosa to provide much needed space for this growing enterprise, Ausfit is going from

Teena Osborne and Marc Osmond strength to strength as they explore other markets through the Ausfit group, which comprises a number of other companies. With this kind of expansion and rapid growth, it’s no wonder they are constantly on the look-out for new talent and recruiting for new roles.

It’s certainly exciting times at Ausfit and a company Marc and Teena are very proud to call their own.
