Zombie Animation Day 1

STARTING AFTER EFFECTS This is my first day of animating and I produced around 18 seconds which I am pleased with.

Here is a screen shot of every 2 seconds and an explanation on how I did it.

Here is my really dark and gloomy background which I start the program with. I kept it nice and dark at this point with not much going on as the news report is speaking and I wanted the main focus to be on that until the song kicks in.

It doesn’t look like it is changing much but the camera is moving to the beat of the music and the news is still playing.

I added a shake on the camera to get this effect quickly rather than key framing small movements about a million times.

By bring us the position tool for the camera then holding ‘alt’ as I click the key frame button it bring us a small box on the right hand side. I type in wiggle then the amount of times I wanted it to move in a frame then how many pixels I wanted it to move. I played around with a few different numbers but found this combination the best.

A mask reveals a white blood splatter instead of the buildings inside the blood as I couldn’t figure out how to achieve this.

The blood appears quickly from the centre as the song kicks in and is shacking like the background also.

It becomes much clearer as the mask disappears and zooms in as the beat kicks in.

Zooms into the blood creating a white screen which to work from.

Zooms out rapidly from a white section of the skyscraper and starts to pan down the building until it reaches the ground. I easy ease the camera movement to make it look more fluid.

As the camera hits the ground the zombies and the flood pop up from the ground and the man in the distance enters from the top. They all hit the finishing piot at the same time including the camera which I feel looks really crisp and professional.

The name of the so called actor pops out from behind the man on the beat of the music. The name ‘smith’ was easy to do as its small an can be unseen when behind, ‘David’ on the other hand is to big so I had to animate its opacity
