uke Browning is one of the rising stars on the British motorsport scene who will go into the 2018 racing season amongst the leading contenders for top honours in the highly competitive Ginetta Junior Championship - a series regarded by many as the breeding ground for the leading racing stars of the future.
Having shown his potential on track throughout his debut campaign, the Cheshire based teenager will be seeking to build on his undoubted speed to fight at the sharp end of the grid and launch a bid for the championship title. And you could share the journey...
D
espite the fact that he isn’t yet old enough to drive a car on the public roads, teenager Luke Browning has shown his talent behind the wheel with an impressive start to his racing career, which has seen him fighting for pole positions, race wins and podium finishes in some of the UK’s top junior championships.
Like many young drivers, Luke took his first steps into motorsport in karts, getting behind the wheel at the tender age of just ten and quickly showing himself to be a natural on track. As he battled for podium finishes from the outset, it was immediately clear that Luke had the potential to make motorsport more than just a hobby and as soon as he was able to, he moved into car racing with an entry into the Junior Saloon Car Championship - a series exclusively for 14-17 year-old drivers using Citroen Saxos. Throughout the course of his first season in cars, Luke took huge strides forwards and by the end of the year had tasted victory for the first time at Brands Hatch and then put in a record-breaking performance during the season finale at Silverstone where he posted the fastest ever lap by a JSCC driver. A second season in the series was an option for 2017 but instead, Luke elected to make the move up to the premier series in the UK for young drivers; the Ginetta Junior Championship. Running as part of the support package for the hugely popular British Touring Car Championship, Luke showcased his potential with a number of impressive drives - matching his more experienced rivals for pace and picking up multiple rookie class podiums. With a year under his belt to learn the ropes, Luke returns to the series in 2018 with one goal. To fight for the championship crown.
