Section 1

Life in France I imagine that the typical French life is very interesting. Never boring! But it is very chaotic too. For breakfast they usually eat croissant, a typical French cake, milk, tea with some biscuits. The school is very dierent to ours. They study a lot and they chose the subjects that they like. I don't have any ideas for the foods that they eat at lunch and dinner. I hope that one day I'll go to France, and who knows maybe I'll go to live there! Elidia

I think the life in France is like the life in Italian big cities. France has got a lot of inhabitants and French people's lives are very fast and busy- France is organized very well and also the public transport is very well organized. Tourism in France is very important because there are a lot of museums and beautiful places which tourists can visit. Elisabetta

The French school system is very organized. It is divided into three stages: Primary, Secondary and Higher Education. This system is one of the more successful in the world, because the educational standards are generally high. There are public schools with bilingual programmes, but in most cases a bilingual education is available in a private school. In Paris and some other cities, there are private American and British schools.
I think French schools are harder than Italian ones. I imagine the pupils with uniforms, and I think teachers want them to work hard, to be prepared to the future. I mean, Italian schools are valid, I but I think there's a reason if French system is considered the best. Emma

The routine: The French consider illegal work after 18 hours. Basic and routine work is to begin at 8 am and end at approximately 17h with 1 hour break for lunch. Also, students have every six weeks "vacation" Two weeks. In France they eat approximately 12, and dinner at 19pm, is very different from our routine. Men are in the office 37 hours and 15 minutes a week, women 29 hours and five minutes. Sports: Practice is much football, basketball, motorcycling, handball, rugby. Are the major sports. Food: France is known as "The land of a thousand cheeses", Typical food:fondue,Foie Gras or also known as foie gras crepes Hobbies : The French spend half their leisure time in front of a screen By Thais & Rocio

French teenagers. We think that the French teens are similar as catalonian. Probably they do the same things but they play different sports like handball ( here the majority of the teenagers play football and basketball) and see other TV series and shows. They eat a lot of croissants and baggetes with foie gras unlike the catalans who eat bread with tomato and cold meat. We think there aren'tt more differences. By Marc Morales i Jordi Montoliu

We think that French teenagers like eating croissants and crepes, they invented this delicious meals. In their free time they practice lots of sports but the most common ones are football, rugby and handball. Their idols are Thierry Henry and Zinadine Zidane two exceptional football players. We think that they’re very calmed and silent people not like us. This are the most important stereotypes about French teenagers. Cesc Gómez and Pere Pascual

They eat a lot of croissants and baggetes with foie gras unlike the catalans who eat bread with tomato and cold meat. We think there aren'tt more differences. By Marc Morales i Jordi Montoliu French guys: I think that in France the most common sports hobbies food all of this…are: -About sports: the most common is football, next basketball, they are a enormous athletic people, and also a good tennis players. -About food: they eat very special gourmet food because is very traditional in France and also duck, foie, quiche, fondue, etc. -about technology: They more less use the same social networks like the Catalans, Italians, Portuguese, Belgium, people because in Europe is the most common. Technologically is normal in Europe because we’re very forward in theses topics.

FRENCH TEENAGERS France before was recognized as the world's greatest power on weapons but not now. The Food there is not well known but what is known is if the croissant, the foie and French bread. The most famous sport in France is cycling as the Tour de France . In France there is one of the best museums of humanity within the Louvre which has the mona Lisa, the coronation of Napoleon, . FRENCH I think the French are like us , because I think that the French are not very tall.I’m think that they like the baggetes and the croissants because they invented them Pau and jordi

We think that their hobbies are playing football, handball (because they won one world champion of handball) and basketball, they listen all kinds of music and they eat a lot of confectionary also croissants. But we thing that the French people have a problem, they are closed people but with a good things, are respectful and polite people and they are romantic because they have the city of love, Paris.

EVERYDAY LIFE OF TEENAGERS OF FRANCE

When I hear things about the teenagers of France I think that they have a similar style of life as us. They live very near from here, and this is the cause that it’s practically the same. They go to the high school every day, later they do different activities depend their weather. About their character, I think that it’s different than us. They are people more of the north than the south of Europe (like Spain, Italy...), and for this reason they’re close people. They aren’t very talkative with the strange people, but with a lot of respect to the other people. They are very polite and organized; they do the things very correct. I think that they like the croissants and their capital is Paris, the city of love, so they are romantic too. Nuria Poch What must life in France be like? We think that life in France must be similar to life in Catalonia. Life here is very amusing because many things always happen and you can talk about them. When It rains it’s very boring. Even though we believe the school timetable is different and children go to school wearing a uniform. School menus and nutrition are different, because French students eat more dairy products like butter and yoghurt than students in Catalonia.

Life in France: (Giulia Fadda, Michela Pisu, Marta Murgia, Sofia Prinzis. 2CL)

We actually think, that France is one of the most important places in the Europe. Maybe one of the most beautiful, and one of the biggest. Of course, for us, everything is big, we live in really small cities, and for us, it was really difficult to imagine life in Paris, or in other French cities. Probably, Italy and France are more different than what we think. The school, when we were writing this we thought "okay, just in France, students have more hours, and we are so lucky". This is the first difference, between ours schools, and probably also uniforms, we don't use uniforms, but they have to respect some rules for their clothes, we can wear whatever we want. We're sorry for French students. Living in France is absolutely an amazing thing. Maybe living in Paris, isn't perfect, but we would love living there. We think that France is an elegant place, people seem kind, and nice. Just saying the word "France" seems elegant, and charming. Yes, for us, French people are charming. The language (a bit difficult) but it is so romantic, and you can write the perfect love poetry in French. We're all fashion addicted, so we'd love to visit France, also for this. How many Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Lancôme and Givenchy shops are there? Fashion is an art, and French seems full of art, not only for this.

The differences between Italy and France are many. In France there are about 61 million persons and Paris has got about 2 million persons. Secondary school has got five years to frequent and the college just three. In France guys who are 16 can drive the car with an adult. the speciality of this country are crepes. there are a lot of fantastic cities with beautiful museums and castles or others important monuments. so many people go there to visit these beautiful things! it's a country rich of turism! Rebecca France has a population of over 61 millions inhabitants.
It is a semi-presidential Republic. In France the 14th of July we calebrate the feast of federation in 1790, but everyone knows that in this day we celebrate the sterming of Bastille (1789). The France is famous for its cheese from Normandia or its "quiche lorrain" which are pies, or for the champagne. In France the education attend the nursey schol up to 6 years, the the elementary school up to eleven. There isn't a middle school but "collège" which lasts 4 years. From 15 years begin the high school to 18 years then there is university. Another french habit is put the butter everywhere. Camilla ☺ I don’t think the food in France is as good as Italian food,I've been there and I didn't like the meals very much. For breakfast people drink a cup of coffee or milk,a croissant or a little slice of bread with jam and butter. The lunch is from 12:00 a.m. to 14:00 P.m. French people usually eat a first dish,it can be pasta, then many kinds of patè or crudites,a soup of fish and lamb and veal, and also a lot of bread called, baguette. They drink a lot of wine and alcholic drinks. Dinner is between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm The dinner is as the lunch. For a sweet they eat cheese and apple cake Maria Grazia

FRANCE: -All french people are slightly hypocrite, and they all walk around with a baguette under their arms. They get anoying repeating again and again the word “Holala!”. Anywhere you go in France, you hear someone playing acordion, even in the public bathroom or in your own house. If you live in France, you automatically live in Paris, because that’s where all French people live. Also, if you take a look through any french house window you will see the Tour Eiffel, as clearly as you see your hand. French cuisine is known worldwide for its excellence, but poor French people! I feel sorry for them, only eating croissants and drinking red wine. What a shame!

Nowadays nearly all the teenagers have a phone, and loads of them spend so much time on it. I think that that is a point that these countries have in common.Another thing that is very popular is for example the sport, loads of teenagers spend so much hours playing sports like for example here in Spain the football is very popular, but it also is in Italy or France. Basketball and volleyball are very played sports in the both countries too and that the majority of boys and girls play.I also think that students love listening to music because they can disconnect of the routine and have a moment of pleasure and not stressing for themselves, and that is similar in our countries too.So I think that the three countries have a very similar way that students spend their time.

Hello , my name's Marta and now I'm going to give you my opinion of the life in general from France and Italy. On this summer I had the oportunity of goingto Marsella and Villafrance, two cities a lot of dierent from France. Marsella it's a similar city of Barcelona, and with this information I think the the teenagers life it's the same as our life, because in our continent, in most countries the life it's similar for the technologies and the working, but I in my opinion I think that in France there aren't crisi and the problems from Spain. Villafrance it's a rural and welcoming city and I think that the life is similar that Marsella and Barcelona, but in this city predominates the street life, because the places are very beautyful and quiet. On this summer also, I had the oportunity of went to Italy and only I tell that the life is the same but in Italy there's glamour and there are the normally technologies. Thanks for your attention.

FRENCH AND ITALIAN STUDENTS I think that not only here, and not only there, the students of my age are all very similar in all countries of the world, well in some countries not, but are the minority. Life in Italy -Italy is famous for its food, the famous pasta, the food that we like them all. The Italians always go with a baguette in hand, love it. Something also strange is that Italians gesticulate a lot when speaking, always move their hands to talk. The most popular sport in Italy is soccer. In Italy it is probably where you can see more ferraris. Bernanke Malas, Marçal Cerezo and Oriol PÊrez.

How we imagine your life in Sardinia The Sardinians start school in mid September. They go to school from 9:30 to 14:00, and they choose what lessons they want to do each year from a list of defined subjects. In the morning, most of them wake up at 8.30, get ready, have breakfast then take the school bus at 9.15. At school, for lunch, they eat pizzas, pasta, lasagna and Italian ice cream because they don't eat anything that doesn't come from Italy. In the afternoon, they meet up twice a week to do their homework all together, and the rest of the time they do different activities like painting, sculpture, horse riding, basketball, swimming, climbing or football. At weekends, they spend some time with their family at home or go out with their friends to the cinema or the restaurant. Twice a month, their main teacher takes their whole class to their town's theme park for the day. Their hometown is small, but nice and welcoming: there are lots of nice little shops and cafĂŠs in the main street and a huge modern shopping mall. They also have a big swimming pool and a football pitch and lots of parks to run around in, meet up or just relax while reading a book near a fountain. In Sardinia, it is always hot and it rains very rarely. That is why the Sardinians are not used to the climate of other countries, such as France and England. Megan, Thusika, Melissa & Soa

EVERYDAY LIFE OF TEENAGERS OF ITALY The teenagers of Italy I think that they’re very similar to us. As I said before, they are from the south of Europe, like us, for this reason they have the same character like the people of Spain and Catalonia. They are very active and talkative people, all the time when are talking, they shout. And they move their hands a lot to be more expressive. But Italian people are very open with the strange people, they are so nice. In this way they love the party and dance, they are always very happy and festive. Like in Spain, they have the fame that they are lazy. They like a lot the pasta and the pizza, they’re very good cooks. And they are very disorganized and they live in a permanent chaos. But this are stereotypes, and not the all people they are going to be like this. Nuria Poch

We think that Italian and French teenagers are very similar to us because the three countries are very near but there are some differences:

We think that Italian teenagers like eating pizza and pasta, they eat it once or twice every day and was invented there. In their free time they usually play football like Spanish people. Their idols are Berlusconi (Il Cavalliere) and Valentino Rossi because he is a very good motorist and he has won lots of championships. We also think that they gesticulate a lot with their hands when they talk and they are always happy. This are the most important stereotypes about Italian teenagers.

Hi, this is my opinion about the Italians and French teenagers. Italian guys: I think that Italian teenagers use the same social networks like all of us, but they have a better internet connection. They favourite sports are football, basketball, swimming, cycling, in the north also roller hockey and one of the most traditional things in Italy are the motorbikes. They favourites foods are pasta pizza and ice cream all of this invented in Italy. They do the same as us because they live in the same continent like us, the have more lest the same technology like here and all is very similar but that I wrote before is the most common that I think.

ITALIAN TEENAGERS We believe that Italians are very nice people but it seems to us that when the Italians are angry their insults do not sound hard enough. The cuisine of Italy is known for risotto, pasta, pizza i. It is also well known for the i Baticano the Colosseum. The sports more known is football and basketball but dropped.

ITALIANS I think the italians are very good people, but sometimes they seem very arrogant, they are very patriotic. In my opinion the italians are very competitive and always strive to make the best of them.

-Italy is famous for its food, the famous pasta, the food that we like them all. The Italians always go with a baguette in hand, love it. Something also strange is that Italians gesticulate a lot when speaking, always move their hands to talk. The most popular sport in Italy is soccer. In Italy it is probably where you can see more ferraris.

Italian: We think that Italian teenagers eat a lot of pasta also we think that they eat a lot pizza or something like that. Our opinion about the hobbies is that they like do some related to culture history and art because they have the city of the culture, Rome. And we think also too that the hobbies are the same as Spanish: like play football, basketball... We think that Italian teenagers are crazy for the party and they are impolite people; also our opinion is that they speak louder and very fast.

Daily life in Sardinia

I think that in Sardenia they eat a lot of pizza.Everyday they eat very good food with their family and in canteen. The weather is very nice and there is many beach near the school. They may have a lot of hobbies. They play maybe football like us. In Sardenia they have 5 years of high school .They can study sciences, literature, economy and more like in France. They only have school in the morning and do sport. They also have long holiday like three month i think. In Sardenia the education system is not like France,in France we have more hours then them We think they is not so many difference between our country and Sardenia !

LIFE IN SARDENIA

In Sardenia, they must eat pizza ans pasta every day. They must love things of their past, like gladiators fight. They have wonderful cars. They may have school only in the morning and, at the cantine, they must have pizza and pasta everyday. During the week end, they certainly eat pizza with all their family. They have less holidays during the year, but three months in summer. They must walk in front of wonderful monuments every day to go to the beach after school because it's always sunny in Italy ! Yes, this is what we think about your daily By Dorian and Thibault

Life in Sardinia The Sardinians start school like us, in September. They start school at 9:30 and finished it at 14:00. It is very short in comparison with the French student .At lunch they probably eat pizza, pasta, lasagna, Italian cook, and ice cream. In the afternoon, they do different activities like painting, cooking, shopping, playing video games, or do sport .They are close to the sea, so they cans go to swim or to tan all the afternoon but they can also take a walk on the sand with friend or more supplely to talk .On them city center they can also do shopping or visited museum . When they returned at house they do them homework, speak to them parents or them friends or to sleep because they’re tired By Julie Piton

Another thing that is very popular is for example the sport, loads of teenagers spend so much hours playing sports like for example here in Spain the football is very popular, but it also is in Italy or France. And I think a lot of people love music in all countries music Is something who we need because they can disconnect of the routine and have a moment of pleasure and not stressing for themselves, and that is similar in our countries too. So I think all of countries are similar, students sports... but with a small differences . Yroe valero

What we imagine about our correspondents’ country? We think Italian life and our life got some similarities. We suppose you’ve got less hours of classes than us because you go to school from Monday to Friday and you probably start at 9 am and finish at 3 pm (you must not like to go to school like us !!). You may wear uniforms. Maybe you have got the same subjects as us but French is replaced by Italian and perhaps you don’t have lots of homework to do. Then we think you’ve got the same hobbies as us like going out with friends, going to the cinema, listening to music… Given that the beach is near to your homes so we imagine that you spent your free time there to play or to swim. In your daily life we suppose you eat pizza or pasta all the time!! We know its clichés or exaggerations but it can be true! By Athirai & Prashane

WHAT WE THINK ABOUT OUR CORRESPONDENT IN SARDINIA. We think that life in Sardinia is wonderful. First, you may eat pizza and spaghettis every time. We also think that you have school from 8a.m to 4p.m and you probably don’t have a lot of homework. At school, you really like lessons of French because you like this language, but you also learn Italian since Sardinia is in Italia.

In you free time; you may go outside every time because it is never raining in Sardinia. You could be proud of your country because there are lots of beautiful monuments in Italia. So you probably know each of them. We think that you are not different as us: you probably have the same hobbies as us. You may like reading, watching Television and playing videogames.

Everything that we said may not the reality. It is what we think about your life in Sardinia. YATERA Medina, 2nde 11 and BOUMAAZ Kenza, 2nde 3.

Life in Spain ✓

I think that in Spain it's very hot in summer and also in winter, and that people go to the beach every month. I think that people watch a lot of soap opera and I think that all of them can dance. I think that people are friendly, and that Spain is a beautiful place and a lot of people go there. Stefania

Life in Spain Spain is a country which is in Europe in the west-south of France. The temperature is hot and there is the sea all around the country. There are some castles and the architecture is very beautiful. They like mosaics at home. The streets are very small and very colorful. The Spanish have a tannea skin because of the sun. They like to eat churros with chocolate, paella, tortilla or tapas before eating dinner. They eat their breakfast at 8:30 am, their lunch at 2:30-3:00 pm and their dinner at 10:00 pm. At school, the pupils must start at 9:00 am and finish at 3:00 pm. They can’t eat at school but at home. In the afternoon, they have some activities like sport, music or make their homework. After, they must like playing with their friends outside or sleep a little. They don’t have school the Saturday morning like us. But in summer, in Spain, we can go to the beach take the sun and play volley-ball or football. At night, they go outside to dance in a nightclub with many friends to have a good time. They also can go roallercoasting like in Port Aventura near Barcelona with Shambalah. By Ema , Carla, Natacha and Juliette

Daily Life in Spain The second-largest country in Europe after France, Spain is a diverse and exciting place to live and work. I imagine in Spain , people wake up late at morning , after they have breakfast lately and they have to get ready to go to school . Their school say starts at 9:00 am approximately and they finish at 3 pm approximately .People go home early compared to us. They do many activities after school , basket ball for example . There is a typically Spanish dish which is called paella , they eat this in the afternoon for lunch. To finish their day , they have dinner late around 9:30, they relax and watch TV until 10:30 pm and they go to bed . At school , they don’t have moch homework (they are lucky)but they don’t often have holidays compared to us . They study English , Maths , French , Physics and Biology . Spanish people believe in Jesus Christ and in Mary. They are going every sunday to church so they are Christ’s believer. In spain , there is many beautiful beaches , and they often go there with their friends .

School in Spain is very different. Lessons begin at 8:30 and finish at 14:30 pm. Everyday pupils wake up around 7 am. They wash and get dressed. They have breakfast and then they go to school. The high school is like here. The teachers are like here. Everyday at 14:30 pm, they take a nap. Days when they haven’t got lessons they wake up at 14:30 pm and they watch TV. They sleep and eat paellas.

RAHMOUNI FAIZA

My vision of your hometown.
I suppose that there are many flamenco schools in your hometown and that there is a corrida and many melons' sellers. I think that the weather is often sunny and that there are many restaurants, especially for the «tortilllas» and «paellas»... I guess that there's a nightclub too because spanish enjoy partying ! There's probably a church in your hometown because there's a lot of Catholics in Spain. Hichem, Louis, Vincent and Yovan

LIFE IN SPAIN I imagine that in Spain my correspondent has a daily life quite similar to mine. I guess he wakes up early every school day and takes a wash. Then maybe he has breakfast. After that, he listens to music when he goes to school. At school, I think he has got the same subjects as us but with some exceptions like social sciences. And he does not attend high school but ESO. He finishes his school day at 2p.m and he goes back home to eat. So his school days finishes earlier than ours but he starts earlier too like 7a.m for example. Then he goes back home but perhaps he could have an out of school activity like basketball or soccer. And in the evening he does his homework and maybe like many students he watches TV or surf the net to relax because of his exhausting school day. After that I suppose he eats with his parents while watching the news on television and he goes to bed. Mathilde FERREIRA , Sarah MOIZARD, Léa NEYRAT- -EKOBO ,Loredana CAZACU &Romaïssa AYAD-ZEDDAM

Life in Spain We think Spain is really similar to Italy and teens' life too. Spain is a wonderful place; the weather is really nice, like ours, the food is awesome, but ours food is better u.u Probably in Spain they're more organized than us (public transport, health and politics). There are many beautiful cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Siviglia, Malaga, Ibiza and more. In those cities there are many important monuments and especially football clubs. In fact, the most famous sport in Spain is football, and Spanish national team is one of the most powerful. The school is very different, for example there are only 3 years of High School. Perhaps they start school in the morning, at 8:30 a.m, and they finish school in the afternoon, at 2 p.m We'd like to visit Spain one day. Spanish people are very nice and friendly, they seem more like us than french people.

Casu Walter ,Pilo Nicolò & Puddu Dario

We believe that in Spain students don’t have a break for lunch, so they can only eat after school, at 3pm. They have less vacation than us. We don’t know if they have grades in letters or in numbers, but we think it’s in numbers. In Spain, the majority of the people speak Spanish, and the others speak regional languages like Catalan for example. The typical dish in Spain is the paella and pasta. In Spain the weather is better than in France. The most popular show is the corrida. The majority of the population is catholic. They have crazy celebrations like “Tomatina” for example. We think that they have a king and a queen. Amelle , Paulina , Lucie , Lina

Life in Spain In Spain, pupils go to school all day long like us .In some school they are wearing uniforms. They study English, French, Spanish, Mathematics and other subjects. In the afternoon, they leave school earlier than in France. And they have time to do sport or others activities. They eat three or four meals a day. Maybe they eat later than people in France. Pupils haven’t school on Saturday and they have less holidays than us. They don’t have the same schedules. Paella is the most famous meal in Spain. The life is less expensive in Spain than in France. Most of the people in Spain love to eat “pan con tomate”, It’s bread with tomato mash . Bénédicte Cousin, Shenara Koruwakankanamge , Axara Migel .

Life in Spain. I think that life in Spain is not very different from ours. I think that in Spain the school starts later than in Italy, and I think that students do not use a uniform. I think the guys during their free time do a lot of sport and when they leave at night they come back very late. I think that in Spain is always '' siesta ',' and that there is very hot. I think that people eat a lot of fried food, and I think that people drink a lot of alcohol. I also think that people are very nice and funny. Chiara ☺ Spain According to us the Spaniards eat late for example they eat at 10 pm.The relations between pupils and teachers are relaxed. They eat more varieties of fish and the food is very good. The weather is sunnier. We know that they celebrate the Holy Kings on Twelf night (the first Sunday of January) .We imagine people in big cities aren’t sociable with strangers. There must be a lot of pickpockets. To go to school you have the same morning routine. To go to school you probably take buses. By Amélie,Arthur,Marine and Sara Life in Spain
We think that in Spain the people have a lot of fun and we think also there's a lot of tourism.
We think that there isn't school on saturday but they have to do more hours than us the others days. We think also that the summer is longer and that the days are hotter.
We think also they eat al lot of paella and that everybody play football. Mauro, Luca and Mattia

Spain We think that Spain is a beautiful place. We think it is similiar to Italy. We have heard about its monuments and the beautiful sculptures. We think that schools are very big, with hundreds and hundreds of students. We think that school in Spain is a good place and that they have good teachers but not very strict. Students have lunch at school and they don't go to school on Saturdays'. We think that the days are hotter than in Italy and that the food in Spain is good and that they eat a lot of Paella. We imagine Spain like a place with big green gardens and some streams. We imagine people as smiling and kind. When we think about Spain we think about dance, we don't know why. We also think there are a lot of restaurants with different kinds of cooks. We'd like to go to Spain! Martina R., Michelina T., Simona A., Michela S. 2CL :)

My opinion is that Spanish dress very chic. Girls between 14 and 30 years dress with sneakers or heels; jeans and leggings and leathercloth bags which are fashionable in Spain. Men between 15 and 36 years dress with jeans or chinos with poles, square shirts or t-shirt to sponsor the beer brands; and sneakers. Spanish people are very comfortable and fashionable, because they wear clothes with bright colours . Boys and girls are very sophisticated and graceful. Ilaria ☺

Life as it is in France , Italy and Spain You can now compare the preconceived ideas about other European countries to the actual everyday life there.

Section 1

Life in Spain

In Spain they have a lot of different cultures as Catalonia:

The Spanish school The school takes three years in Spain and a year for college preparation, regarding children from 16 to 18 years old. Spanish children start at nursery at 3 years, then the elementary school at 6 years old and lasts for six years; at the age of 12 pupils go to the secondary school for 4 years. When they're 16 years students have a certificate called "graduado en educaci贸n secundaria" and with this they can attend a secondary school to study for the maturity and finally the 'universities. As in Italy to attend high school you need the licenseat In high school there are four addresses: Bio-medical; Humanities and social sciences; technical; Artistic. The core subjects that are taught in all the addresses are: Spanish language, literature, foreign language, philosophy, physical education, history. compulsory school age is 16 years old as in Italy. Lessons in spain begin at 9 am and end at 16, with a lunch break and the lesson lasts about 45 minutes. The academic year runs from mid-September to mid-June with holidays at Christmas, Easter and the summer break. About 90% of children aged 3 to 5 years attending nursery school, about 55% of the students go to school up to 18, 25% goes to work and about 30% goes to universities. Public education is free, but, usually, the parents have to pay school books, but in many regions are provided free of charge. Alessia Del Vecchio

Hello! :) Spain / Catalonia have very different traditions we think. For example, we have the habit of going to church than some people who are traditional. You are also wrong to think that only eat paella and omelette, because our food is normal, varied and mediterrania. we get up at 7:00 every day to go to school, weekends we usually go to bed late and get up late. Finally you were wrong in what you thought about us, the Spanish, but since we will have corrected. We hope you have learned something new about us. Culture in Spain In Spain they have a lot of different cultures as Catalonia: -In Spain, they dance flamenco on “Feria de Abril” (It’s a festival were a lot of Spanish people go to dance in “Sevilla” and in Spain there are also the “Sanfermin” (is a lot of people running in front of a lot of bulls and it does on “Pamplona”) and they have “toreros”, is a person who act with a big bull.

Spanish and catalonian Teenagers and culture

-The siesta is a tradition that is receding , especially in cities. The normal rhythm of the day in Spain are often divided into two periods, morning and evening, with a break of two or three hours during the meal. The dinner is at around 10 pm. -Fun on the night are in central and southern peninsula nightlife starts late even in relatively small cities, opening at midnight and don’t close until the next morning.

They do the same schedule as ours: They wake up at 7:15. We start the start the school at 8:00 and we finish it at 13:30 or at 14:30 it depends of the day. We only go the Mondays and Thursdays afternoons to the school. After the school the majority of us goes home or to the training if he do sport. Our holidays are between June and September, at Christmas and at Easter. About three months and a half per year. We go to school on Monday to Fridays. We don’t go to the church because the majority of us are atheist.

OUR ACTUAL LIFE

We don't agree with some things that you explain in your texts about Spain Stereotypes: You say that in Spain there are some castles and architecture and there isn't in our country. In our home there aren't mosaics. There are a lot of different streets not only small and colorful. Here we start clases at 8:00am and finishes at 14:30pm and we can eat lunch at school. We have a lot of homework and exams too. In High School we have 4 years. In Spain the old people only go to church but in the past all people use to go. We don't only eat paella, we eat vegetables, pasta, meat, fish, pizza and others. In our free time we don't only sleep,we do different activities for example we do sports, walking with our friends. We like going parties but if you aren't 18 years old you can't drink alcohol. We love going to PortAventura which is the most popular theme park near Tarragona because we have a funny time with our friends and family. Judith Arboles Marta Miquel Laia Perez

OUR TRUE LIFESTYLE

Hello, we are Oriol, Sara and Diana, some of your Spain friends and now we would like to correct some of your opinions, hope you'll find them helpful! First of all, we don't start school at 7.00am! We start at 8.00am everyday and we have an half an hour break at 11.00am to have breakfast. Also we don't finish at 3.00pm. Somedays we finish at 1.30pm or at 2.30pm, but that's only in our school because every school has it's own schedule. We do have homework, just like you all. The majority of schools don't use uniforms but there are some exceptions. Well, it's known that we like paella, churros with chocolate, tortillas, tapas, etc. Most of the people likes it, but in fact not everyone eats that everyday. The majority of teenager DON'T go to church on sunday morning even if the population is baptized as catholic, but that's only because it's part of the culture and the tradition. In Spain you can find many religions and cultures, so you don't have to be Christian. We like parties, like everybody, but we don't go every saturday at nightclubs. Usually we stay at home or we spend some time with our friends or with our family. We don't know what you think about our city, but not every city has to have small streets and they don't have to be colorful, we do have big streets and some of them are non colorful, also if you want to look some of Barcelona streets, you'll see how big they are! We've seen this on some of your documents so we have to say it: almost all the Spain population is “antitaurina, which would mean against bullfights. Only a small part of Spain likes them, the other part fight for bulls rights. Thank you for your attention!

Here in Spain, we have different traditions. Above all, here in Catalonia, we have a different culture than the rest of Spain. We aren't catholics in excess, few people go to the church, but not the majority of us. We not only eat paella, or pasta, we eat Mediterranean food, for example vegetables and fish. And “pan con tomate” we only eat in CATALONIA. We don't get up very late, we often get up at 9 in the off days. And in the school days we wake up at 7 o'clock. We have a lot of homework and exams. We do the nap, and we're lazy too. But we can work hard, and have fun. Were party people, but we're responsible at the same time, specially in Catalonia, that we have the feeling that we aren't part of Spain. We are a conuntry with different traditions. We don't do flamenco and corridas, is most popular in the south of Spain. And in Catalonia we have the “castellers” and the sardana, in our traditions. We have Barcelona, an awesome place to go some days and shop a lot! And visit Catalonia, we have beautiful landscapes and beaches, specially the Pyrinees! Yroe Valero, Cristina Giralt , Mar López, Núria Poch

What we really do in Spain. Here are some realities of what we do in spain, without following our stereotypes: Bernat: We may have our eating times a bit later than yours, but we don’t eat dinner at 10 p.m., we (at least were my group lives) usually eat between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. I don’t know where the idea of the spanish people going always to nightclubs comes from, but I can assure you that lots of spanish people haven’t put a foot in a nightclub since long ago. Alex: They say we start school at nine o'clock , when we start at eight o'clock. They say the Spanish are alcoholics. We have seen more foreigners get more drunk than Spanish. Aleix: The Italian people say the Spanish people eat paella and churros with chocolate before eating and is not true. They say the spanish always sleep the siesta. No, in Spain we do not sleep the siesta. It’s for old people and little kids.

Life in Italy Real life in SardiniaSardinia is a small island in the middle of the Mediterraneo. It’s a wonderful place, if you like beaches and nature. Sardinia has a mild climate, the summer is really long and sunny. Winter and autumn are really rainy, but not really cold.

How we really eat in ItalyIn Italy we don't eat pasta, pizza or lasagna every meal. We have a healthy diet. We usually eat pizza once or twice a week (mostly on Saturdays or Fridays at dinner) and pasta at lunch only the days we don't eat pizza. At dinner we usually eat meat or fish with vegetables or salad. Sometimes we eat out, at fast food, pizzeria or restaurants.

We have breakfast at 6:30 a.m., lunch at different times depends on what work you do (what time you come home). For example in the south of Italy we have lunch (and dinner) later than the north of Italy. In Italy we never eat at school because we go home before lunch time. We usually have dinner at 8:30 p.m. We do two breaks one in the morning and one in the afternoon (the first one between breakfast and lunch and the second one between lunch and dinner).

In Sardinia there are lots of typicals candies. For example, seadas, papassinos and pardulas. Here are the pictures.

The school in SardiniaEvery school starts at 8.15. High schools finish at different times. In our school we finish lessons three times a week at 12.15 and three at 13.15. But from the next year we’ll do every day 5 hours. There are lots of afternoon classes of different language, sports etc.

Sardinian dishes Some Sardinian dishes are: for starter we can have artichokes with bottarga seasoned with olive oil; for the first we can have a type of Sardinian pasta, "Sos Cannisones" bucatini that go well with the sauce made from fresh tomatoes or “Sos Malloreddus” seasoned with tomato sauce “a sa Campidanesa” that is tomato sauce made with sausage cook in tomato sauce; for the second we can eat a beef steak called "Sa Bortigalesa" or “Su Procceddu” that is pig roaster put in over the coals; for dessert there are the “Sebadas” composed by semolina flour, water, cheese, lard and honey or the “Pardulas” are a typical Easter cake of the Sardinian tradition. They are little cakes filled with ricotta cheese or cheese, very soft and tasty. Depending on the area you can see a version of sweet or savory aroma of orange or lemon, and more rare, a version with raisins. Despite preparing the same, the taste of pardulas cottage cheese, delicate, and the Cheese, which have a stronger flavor, is very different.

Life in Sardinia. In Sardinia people are very friendly and nice. Everybody thinks that we are very short people, but it isn't true. At school we have lessons for four/five hours a day and we go to school also on Saturdays. Lessons starts at 8.15 a.m. and end at 12.15 or 13.15. In our school we study English, French and German. Some tipical Sardinian foods are: Culurgiones, Maloreddos (a type of pasta), Seadas, Dolcesardo (cheese) and Carasau (a type of bread). The most known wines are Cannonau and Nieddera and the most popular beer is Ichnusa.

In Sardinia there are a lot of Nuraghi. Nuraghi are the oldest historical monuments, they are of the II millenium b.C. A lot of people come in Sardinia to visit Nuraghi. Sardinia is known as the tropical island of the Mediterranean sea because of it's beautiful beaches and incontaminated nature.

In general a French day begins with a breakfast, to have a lot of energy during the day.

THE FRENCH DAILY LIFE French people take their car to go to work, They could spend their time in trafic jam but a lot of them take the common transports.

At school

At work At work a lot of them are grumpy because they don’t like working but they are still polite. Their hours are 9:00am – 18:00pm, but it depends on their job.

Our school schedule are not good because we have school all day long . We work from 8:30am – 17:00pm. We don’t like that because at the end of the day we are really tired and can’t relax a lot because of the homework. But we have 2 weeks of holiday approximately every month and ahalf.

71

After work

Traditionnal lunch

After work it’s time for them to go in a supermarket. We go to « Carrefour » or « Leclerc » for example. Everybody must go there but nobody really likes it because it’s boring and you have to wait because there is a lot of people. We prefer doing clothes shopping in particular for the girls.

This is some of the food that French people usually eat :

And they say « Bon Appetit ! »

Léa Neyrat Romaïssa Ayad-Zedane Lorédana Cazacu Mathilde Ferreira Sarah Moizard

Finally, they go back home before picking up their children at school and buying French bread. After that, they relax before the dinner. For example, they watch television, read a book, surf on the net…
Before dinner, they often watch the news on television. Then, they go to sleep approximately at 22:00-22:30 72

French Gastronomy In France, the gastronomy is very important. This is part of our tradition. The day, in France, is composed of three meals : breakfast, lunch and dinner. In general, breakfast is substantial. It may be composed of cereals, milk, juice, egg, bread, jam, sandwich‌ For lunch, Frenchman eat moderately . To finish, at night, dinner is light.

French Entry Now, we are going to show a typically French entry :snails and garlic. They are snails roasted in the oil of sunflower strewn with herbs and with fresh garlic. He is generally accompanied with a lemon sauce. Here is the typically French dish which tears away generally a beautiful grimace to all those who speak outside our borders in the same way that about it frogs' legs or calf's head.

French Main course As typically French main course , we chose to present you: the "potau-feu". The "pot-au-feu" is one of the symbolic dishes of the gastronomic meal of the Frenchmen. It is a meat course of beef cooking for a long time on very sweet fire in a broth flavored by vegetables and stocked bouquet. French people really appreciate it, it's one of the best known dish in France.

French Dessert As typically French dessert, we chose to present you, the famous : "Mille-feuilles". A "mille-feuilles" is a room of cake store made by three coats of puff past and two coats of confectioner's custard. The top is frozen with some icing sugar or the fondant. We often add it some fruits or jam.
