Mermaids: those half-human, half-fish sirens of the sea — are legendary sea creatures from cultures of the past In the ancient Far East, mermaids were the wives of powerful seadragons, and served as trusted messengers between their spouses and the emperors on land. The beautiful creatures with human bodies down to the waist and scaly, fish-like tails from the waist down exist ONLY in folklore and in fairy tales of many lands. These mammals live in the ocean, but must come up to the surface to breathe in air. Like all other mammals, the manatee feeds her baby milk and cradles it in her flippers while nursing.

Dragons Exist: Thousands of art pieces depicting dragons of various shapes, sizes and colors were found in what are now ruins of old civilizations. Now what is difficult to discern is the origin of this belief. Basically dragons are classified to western and eastern dragons whereas the western had four legs and a pair of wings totaling of 6 limbs (one feature that science deems impossible) and the eastern described to be composed of multiple animals parts and flown without wings. Both of which are practically impossible. sometimes they mistake dinosaurs for dragons. but a lot of asian cultures believe dragons to be magical or mystical that, for a time, only the emperor of china could wear a dragon on his clothing, if any other worse it they were put to death. They are sacred mystical creatures that were messengers from the gods. just because something is not/never seen does not mean it isn't real. and who's to know what really is real/fake/myth from ancient times, before things were written down (which could have been lies) Not exist: Everyone knows that dragons don't exist. But while this simplistic formulation may satisfy the layman, it does not suffice for the scientific mind. The School of Higher Neantical Nillity is in fact wholly unconcerned with what does exist. Is science able to demonstrate the existence of never before seen animals such as mermaids and dragons?
If science gathered good information and reliable evidence then science can prove to society the discoveries and the existence of never before seen organisms because people, society and community need to see, watch or observe trustful information and evidence to believe the existence of mermaids and dragons.

After making research about mermaids we have come to the realization that our main source of information (the video) is not reliable. The video, mermaids: the body found, is a documentary of science fiction. We also researched about this video and find out that it has some real facts. This video tells the experience of a scientific team investigation to discover the mysterious underwater recordings and an unidentified marine body. Through the video, the documentary used the apes as a hypothesis saying that it was the evidence that mermaids exist. Then we could prove that this video was not real because the NOAA (national oceanic atmospheric administration) said that no evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found. We used the official website from NOAA. In that page we found that some paintings of magical female figures were found in cave paintings but there is no evidence of aquatic humanoids. This information is completely reliable because the information comes from the United States department of commerce; it has an author and a date of publication. After this, we use the webpage of weekly news. In this page we foud out that mermaids DO exit. They say that there IS evidence and that NOAA has confirmed that mermaids exist and that they are growing in numbers. In this article support the idea of the paintings but they include that mermaids are living all around the oceans of the world. National Ocean Service spokeswoman Sandy Nixon told that at least 65 mermaid researches and experts gathered on the island of Tahiti to examine all the known evidence and have conclude that half human half-fish hybrids are living peacefully among us. This page is not reliable, not only because of the information but also because there is no a spokeswomen called Sandy Nixon when we searched.
Finally they use some fake pictures and say that mermaids live in warm water
In the case of dragons we also use videos of national geographic. This video was called: dragons a fantasy made real. Well this video is the same as the one of mermaids. It includes some animations made by the producers about dragons and how they defend themselves. It looks like a very reliable, credible and replicable source not only because it is from animal planet but also because of the information. Then we investigate in valserrie. This webpage looks very reliable. It contains good information. It convinces people with the stories of the past and with some ancient literature, but then it tells that there are no fossils discovered. This page contains information that support and do not support the existence of dragons. Finally this article gives a link that sends the reader to a page of national geographic. It has a date of publication and some real and non-real facts.
Based on our investigation we have found information that supported the existence of organisms, dragons and mermaids. In the case of mermaids, we found lot of information and evidence in the video. We could see bones, videos from kids; sound recorded and many other things.
When searching about the producers and the the video, we could find out that it was not real. It is science-fiction but it contains some real facts. One example is the video of the kids. That video “shows� how a mermaid appears to them but no one can prove that it is real. Then the bones no one knows if they are real. And finally when investigating in the internet we found out that no evidence of mermaids has been recorded so this video is false and mermaid probably did not exist at all. In the other hand, in the case of dragons we also found information from a video of animal planet. This video is the same story as the one of mermaids. It is science fiction. In this video the producers recreate animations of dragons. This way they can demonstrate how they eat, move and fight. Also they show a supposed dragon body of bones. No one is able to prove that these are real bones. Also they say that there is no animal similar to the dragons. No animal is able to spit fire out from his mouth. Then they could find a gas inside the dragon’s body, but once again there is no way to prove that that is true. When searching in the internet we could find that dragons are symbol of china. It also appears in the Chinese calendar. We could realize that dragons are part of cultures and so many stories but there is no evidence and/or fossils found of this organism.
To conclude our lab report and our testing and investigations about how science can prove the existence of an organism that people have never seen before we have conclude that our hypothesis has been disproven because all the information that we have researched on, don’t give us all the evidence that we need for having a real and solid conclusion that this new organisms exist. Also our hypothesis is not approve because the organisms that we research on are mythological animals that in majority appear on fantasy books and in fairytales and that doesn’t give us any information for us to say that this organisms exist, we also have found other web pages of NOAA for example that is an organization of scientists that investigate and research a lot of things and there we found a video that give us really good and supporting information about this new organisms but we research more on the topic and on the video and we conclude that this video isn’t 100% true. That’s why our hypothesis is not proven. Some of the problems that we get through are investigating and having good web pages and good and reliable information for us to use because there were a lot of web pages and information that we found out that is false. Also testing the hypothesis trying to investigate about all the people that put information and seeing if they exist or not. Some recommendations that we can give for future labs is to be more organized in our time also investigating more about people and web pages that we used for seeing if they are reliable or not, other recommendation is giving a little more of information and explaining more our lab for our audience to be more interested and understanding good what we are talking about.
