To celebrate IWD, the female employees gathered to discuss their lives at Cummins Japan and how that differed from other companies they had worked for before Cummins.

The women divided into groups to exchange opinions on themes such as diversity, women’s working environments and welfare. The opportunity enabled the participants to build relationships and connections and explore important topics.

Cummins Mackay invited eight Year 10 students from Mackay North High School to join them for IWD.

The students were picked up in a rental bus generously donated by Ezy Rentals and brought to the branch. Together, they tuned in to the live broadcast with 14 other staff members and their accompanying teachers.

The group then formed a circle to talk about their employment journeys, supported by personal stories from female employees. The students were encouraged to ask questions and had great interest in all the roles the staff had experienced throughout their careers.

Females in Engineering ERG

After the zoom celebration with Cummins CR partners, the newly formed Females in Engineering ERG held a virtual discussion on the topic ‘Who inspires you?’ with a STEM focus.

A major takeaway from the call was that the members found themselves to be inspiring to others while also being inspired by those close to them – their families. A truly empowering session.
