EDITORIAL

Insieme Mesi di caldo insopportabile, di attentati terroristici, di immigrati annegati, di bullismo, di risse mortali, di femminicidi, d’incendi, di uccisione di orsi, di terremoti, seguiti da decine di dirette televisive e migliaia di visualizzazioni sui social, hanno acceso il conflitto. Nei dibattiti pubblici la conflittualità ha raggiunto livelli che non si erano mai visti prima.

Se cercate su un dizionario la parola “conflittualità” trovate sette sinonimi: ostilità, scontro, lotta, opposizione, contrasto, inimicizia, disaccordo. Nell’elenco degli opposti trovate soltanto tre parole: intesa, armonia, pace. È già un segnale significativo. Ci contrapponiamo, litighiamo in continuazione, ci alimentiamo di negatività.

Sul web, dove è più facile superare ogni barriera, l’imbecillità e la contrapposizione impazzano. L’orda degli “odiatori” informatici si è surriscaldata più del pianeta, che è tutto dire. È una moda, si dice, tutto passerà, come i tatuaggi da bucaniere e i capelli dalle tinte più improbabili. E pensare che Carl Rogers diceva che “quando si vuole arrivare alla soluzione di un problema si dovrebbe imporre una regola secondo la quale, prima che il problema venga discusso, i partecipanti dovrebbero spiegare il punto di vista dell’altra parte”.

Se tutti applicassero questa regola, il cinquanta per cento dei problemi sarebbero risolti ancor prima di aprire un dibattito.

Invece il conflitto tra le parti regna sovrano: non a caso per gli esperti del settore non le chiamano “parti” ma “controparti”.

A molte persone contrapporsi abilmente e ferire l’altro sembra una dimostrazione di forza. È invece un forte segno d’incapacità di creare una relazione, un dialogo, di vivere insieme, quindi un segno di debolezza.

La vita è difficile, non rendiamola impossibile.

Insieme, senza inutili conflitti, si vive meglio.

TOGETHER Months of unbearable heat, of terrorist attacks, of drowned immigrants, of bullism, of deadly fights, of women slaughtered, of fires, of putting down bears, of earthquakes, followed by dozens of live television reports and thousands of hits on social media, have set fire to the conflict. In public debates conflictuality has reached unheard of levels.

If you look in the dictionary for the word “conflictuality” you will find seven synonyms: hostility, collision, fight, opposition, contrast, unfriendliness, disagreement. In the list of opposites you will find only three words: understanding, harmony, peace. That in itself is significant. We set against each other, we fight continuosly, we feed off negativity.

In the web, where it’s easier to exceed all boundaries, imbecility and contrast run rampant. The hordes of web “haters” are hotter than the planet, which is saying a lot.

It’s just a trend, they say, it will pass, like the pirate tattoos and multicolored hair. And to think that Carl Rogers said that “when you want to find the solution to a problem, one should enforce a rule according to which before the problem is even discussed, the participants should explain the other party’s point of view”.

If everyone abided by that rule, fifty percent of problems would be resolved even before opening the debate.

Instead conflict between the parties reigns supreme: it’s no wonder that experts in the field call them “counterparties” and not “parties”.

Many consider adroitly counterposing and wounding someone a show of strength. Instead it is a strong sign of an inability to create a relationship, to live together, therefore a sign of weakness.

Life is hard, let’s not make it impossible.

Together, without useless conflicts, life is better.

LUXURY NEWS PEOPLE / VINO ED AMORE PER L'ARTE “Sostenere e valorizzare le arti è sempre stato importante per la nostra famiglia - sottolinea Alessia Antinori, vice presidente di MARCHESI ANTINORI - siamo oggi particolarmente orgogliosi che questa bellissima lunetta, al cui interno è raffigurato uno dei nostri antenati oltre agli stemmi di famiglia, torni finalmente a casa completamente restaurata, in occasione dell’esposizione al Museo Nazionale del Bargello, già scrigno di numerosi inestimabili capolavori dei Della Robbia”. Composta da 46 sezioni di terracotta policroma invetriata, la robbiana, splendido esempio della straordinaria tecnica della famiglia di scultori Della Robbia, attivi tra il 1400 e il 1500 a Firenze, presenta un ritratto quasi a grandezza naturale del suo committente, con le mani giunte alla sinistra di Cristo, e due stemmi di famiglia ai lati della base del rilievo, che decorava Villa Le Rose, una delle Tenute di famiglia dove già all’epoca gli Antinori producevano principalmente vino ma anche olio ed altri prodotti agricoli. ll Museo Nazionale del Bargello, per la prima volta in Italia, avrà quindi in mostra dal 9 Novembre all’8 Aprile 2018 la ‘lunetta Antinori’, un capolavoro del Rinascimento commissionato dalla storica famiglia fiorentina del vino all'inizio del XVI secolo. La robbiana, oggi di proprietà del Museo di Brooklyn, è stata appena restaurata grazie al contributo della famiglia Antinori e verrà esposta in dialogo con l'opera dell’artista Stefano Arienti, realizzata nell'ambito di Antinori Art Project. Un evento unico per Firenze. Così Niccolò di Tommaso Antinori raffigurato nelle lunetta - torna a Firenze dopo 500 anni. Fu proprio l'iniziatore della fortuna imprenditoriale della storica famiglia del vino - da sempre “mecenati d’arte” - che oggi per celebrare lo straordinario ritorno e la sua esposizione dà il via ad una nuova committenza: l’opera di Arienti, tra i più apprezzati sulla scena internazionale, creando un inaspettato dialogo tra arte rinascimentale e contemporanea.

Eccellenza nel vino, passione per le arti e le tradizioni familiari restano valori oltre il tempo.

WINE AND LOVE FOR ART “Sustaining and valorizing the arts has always been important for our family - underlines Alessia Antinori, vice president of MARCHESI ANTINORI - today we are especially proud that this lovely lunette, inside of which one of our ancestors is depicted together with the family crests, at last comes home, wholly restored, in time for the exhibition at the Bargello National Museum, which houses some of Della Robbia’s numerous inestimable masterpieces”. Composed of 46 glazed ploychrome terracotta sections, the lunette is a splendid example of the extraordinary technique developed by the Della Robbia family of sculptors, active between 1400 and 1500 in Florence. It shows a near life-size depiction of the buyer, hands linked, to the left of Christ, and two family crests at the bottom of the relief, which decorated Villa Le Rose, one of the family holdings where at that time the Antinoris already principally produced wine but also oil and other agricultural products. For the first time in Italy, from November 9 until April 8, 2018, the Bargello National Museum will display the ‘Antinori lunette’, a Renaissance masterpiece commissioned by the historic Florentine wine producing family at the beginning of the 16th century. Today owned by the Brooklyn Museum, the lunette has just been restored thanks to the contribution from the Antinori Family and will be displayed together with a work by artist Stefano Arienti, realized in the context of the Antinori Art Project. A unique event for Florence. Thus Niccolò di Tommaso Antinori – depicted in the lunette – returns to Florence after five hundred years. He was in fact the initiator of the success enjoyed by the historical wine-making family - always patrons of the arts – that today to celebrate the extraordinary return and its exhibition paves the way for a new acquisition: the work by Arienti, among the most appreciated on the international scene, creating an unexpected dialogue between Renaissance and contemporary art.

Il percorso prevede una serie di rituali fusion attraverso un sinuoso corridoio-ponte tra Occidente e Oriente, l’Oceano, in cui proiezioni sensoriali conducono l’ospite in un viaggio attraverso questi due mondi. Si entra nella prima delle stanze dedicate, l’Hammam Spa di stampo mediorientale, e si resta religiosamente soli in una stanza satura di vapore dove, comodamente sdraiati, si è avvolti da lame d’acqua che scivolano calde sul corpo. Il rituale si conclude con un bagno di vapore. Tra le due HammamSuite, una stanza riservata è dedicata al centenario rituale del massaggio “sotto pioggia” (Spastream). Si entra quindi nella Suntory Spa, contraddistinta dall’atmosfera soffusa e minimale degli antichi Ryokan. Legno, carta di riso, tatami e bagni giapponesi (Ofuro), trasportano l’ospite nella magica semplicità e purezza del Giappone. Due ambienti Ofuro, con pareti e pavimenti in cedro, accolgono con il classico rito del bagno giapponese in vasche di legno Hinoki (cipresso giapponese), in cui si purifica prima il corpo e poi lo spirito, grazie al rilassamento ottenuto immergendosi in acqua a 42°. Per vivere al massimo l’esperienza, immancabile l’inizio con uno scrub di bamboo. Il percorso termina nella sala Cha No Yu, dove è possibile godere massaggi Shiatsu e vivere i rituali del tè comodamente sdraiati o seduti su un Tatami di paglia di riso intrecciato.

Ideale per un break antistress, Varsana Spa, 3.700 mq di pure benessere, accoglie gli ospiti con piscine con getti e lama d’acqua, docce sensoriali, biosauna, sauna finlandese, bagno turco, cascata di ghiaccio, vasca sonora, percorso Kneipp, sedute idro-massaggio. EAST MEETS WEST A pleasant surprise, the individual treatment inthe two reflecting Hammam Suites, just inaugurated in the Spa Varsana in PALAZZO VARIGNANA, a resort nestled in the hills surrounding Bologna. The treatment calls for a series of ritual fusions through a sinuous corridor-bridge between East and West, the Ocean, in which sensorial projections conduct the guest along a voyage through these two worlds. It all begins with the first of the dedicated rooms, the Hammam Spa with a Middle Eastern touch, and one remains religiously alone in a room saturated with steam where, comfortably lounging, one is enveloped in blades of water that slide hotly over the body. The ritual concludes with a steam bath. Between the two Hammam Suites, a special room is dedicated to the age-old ritual of a massage “under the rain” (Spastream). One thereafter enters the Suntory Spa, marked by the soft minimal atmosphere of the antique Ryokan. Wood, rice paper, tatami and Japanese baths (Ofuro), transport guests in the magical simplicity and purity of Japan. Two Ofuro rooms, with cedar walls and floors, offer a welcome with the classic Japanese bath ritual in Hinoki wood tubs (Japanese cypress), in order to purify first the body and then the spirit, thanks to the relaxation obtained by immersing oneself in water at 42°. To live the experience to the fullest, start off with a bamboo scrub. The treatment terminates in the Cha No Yu room, for Shiatsu massages and tea, comfortably lounging or sitting on a plaited rice Tatami.

Si affianca un Franciacorta Pas Opere’ che sosta sui lieviti per 24 mesi prima del degorgement e non prevede alcuna aggiunta di liqueur d’expedition così da lasciare intatte le caratteristiche originarie e privilegiare il classico aroma di lieviti “crosta di pane”. Un viaggio degustativo d’eccellenza che incarna i colori e i momenti della festa non può non concludersi con un Franciacorta Rose’ ottenuto per il 55 % da uve Pinot nero e per il 45% da Chardonnay con la forza della bacca rossa e la finezza di quella bianca unite in un romantico connubio, fruttato con sentori agrumati e di frutti rossi. WINE EXCELLENCES The MARCHIOPOLO Project came into being from an idea by Gian Luigi Merchiorello in 2006, the result of his extensive expertise and passion for wine and excellence. Together with Edoardo Merchiorello, food&wine expert, enologist Roberto Pepe and sommelier Giorgio Rinaldi, they have begun a path towards quality and research. From identifying indigenous vines and winemakers with specific peculiarities, to cultivating vines through to hand-harvesting and getting them to cellars – obviously controlling the entire process – evaluating the different climatic conditions to then produce a bottle of wine with excellent and unique aromas. The entire process is followed step by step through high standards, natural, ethical and sustainable processes, all while respecting the environment. There’s an interesting coffer amidst the Marchiopolo Collection, 'Colori della Festa’. Broad and embracing Franciacorta, with sweet floral and pastry notes; the palate is dominated by the fruit, it’s assertive yet soft, with a generous froth and very fine perlage. It goes with a Franciacorta Pas Opere’ that settles on the yeasts for 24 months prior to degorgement and does not call for the addition of any liqueur d’expedition, in order to leave the original characteristics intact and favor the classic aroma of “bread crust” yeasts. An exceptional tasting experience that incarnates the colors and moments of the party can only conclude with a Franciacorta Rose’ obtained with 55 % of Pinot black grapes and 45% Chardonnay with the strength of the red berry and the delicacy of the white one blended in a romantic swirl, fruity with citrusy and red berry hints. It is rightly soft and fresh to the palate, perfect for any special occasion.

Un set d’eccezione che ci invidia tutto il mondo: l’Hotel Eden. L’atmosfera: le luci di un tramonto caldo sulle meraviglie della Città Eterna fra le sofisticate note jazz della live performance.. Così l’Hotel Eden e Luxury files magazine hanno voluto salutare l’estate. Un selezionatissimo parterre di ospiti blasonati fra imprenditori, rappresentanti istituzionali e delle Ambasciate, vip e manager del mondo della moda, dei luxury brands e del gourmet.

Tutti estasiati dall’incantevole vista e dalle delizie dello Chef stellato Fabio Ciervo, che ha realizzato per l’occasione speciale un menu di raffinati canapè e una selezione dei suoi famosi ‘cicchetti’ caldi ispirandosi ai pilastri della sua filosofia di cucina: benessere, genuinità e leggerezza ma sempre con gusto ed arte.

Dalle capestante marinate con vinagrette di mango e frutto della passione ai coni di tartare di salmone Calvisius allo storione affumicato con blinis e caviale Calvisius, ai raffinati ravioli di storione e caviale, un’altra specialità d’eccellenza di Calvisius. Tutto rigorosamente ed orgogliosamente ‘Made in Italy’. Per passare poi alle coccole dolci della cioccolateria toscana Slitti.

Lo chef ha creato una sfera di mousse al cioccolato fondente Madagascar Slitti ed apprezzatissima anche la degustazione di praline e dragees: un trionfo di profumi esaltati dal fine cioccolato - dal ginger al pistacchio, passando per l’alkekengi e la black cherry.

Gli ospiti hanno brindato con le innovative bollicine Dubl, il metodo classico sulle uve della tradizione campana - falanghina, greco ed aglianico - dei noti Feudi di San Gregorio. Un viaggio dunque attraverso la bellezza, l’arte, la storia ed i migliori sapori e profumi d’Italia. A rafforzare il legame con Roma, anche un’esperienza degustativa dei vini del Lazio con il progetto di Casale del Giglio raccontato dal brand ambassador Mirko Celani.

In particolare gli ospiti oltre ad assaggiare una selezione di etichette hanno potuto apprezzare la Biancolella - l’antico vino di Ponza - a cui Casale del Giglio ha dato nuova vita riprendendo antichi vigneti isolani.

È stata presentata la nuova proposta di ospitalità a Montefalco di Famiglia Cecchi. “Nei luoghi del Sagrantino, vitigno a noi caro - dice Andrea Cecchi - abbiamo voluto estendere la nostra visione di ospitalità inaugurando un ristorante che prende il nome dalla nostra azienda vinicola”. All’interno del centro storico ecco FORESTERIA ALZATURA un luogo che propone piatti tipici della tradizione. Il locale si trova in un palazzetto d’epoca nell’incantevole piazzetta Domenico Mustafà dove dal dehor esterno, particolarmente accogliente nel periodo estivo, si accede al piano terra in una sorta di bistrot, mentre al primo piano si apre un elegante ristorante dove ci si va anche per rilassarci e socializzare. E il valore di questa Foresteria sta proprio nel fatto che Luigi Del Giacco con sua moglie Christine, francese di Antibes in Costa Azzurra, ti accolgono come un amico facendoti sentire a casa. Sono loro ad affiancare Famiglia Cecchi in questo progetto di “gustosa e golosa” ospitalità. L’arredamento è semplice e caldo, dove bottiglie di vino arricchiscono le pareti come libri in una biblioteca.

La carta è molto allettante anche se cambia in ogni stagione.

Qui non ci sono stravaganze ma una grande ricerca e un quasi religioso rispetto per la materia prima.

MONTEFALCO IN UMBRIA WHEN PASSION BECOMES WORK In a period building Luigi and Christine greet guests in their restaurant as though they were at home.

The Cecchi Family has presented the latest hospitality idea for Montefalco. “In the area where Sagrantino grapes grow, that is so dear to us - says Andrea Cecchi - we wanted to extend our vision of hospitality inaugurating a restaurant that takes its name from our winery”. Within the town center we have the FORESTERIA ALZATURA, a place that serves traditional typical dishes. The Foresteria is located in a period building in the enchanting Piazzetta Domenico Mustafà; from the pleasant outdoor dining area in summer months, one enters a sort of bistrot, while on the first floor there is an elegant restaurant for fine dining, relaxation and socializing.

“Mi piacciono i piatti della tradizione - dice Luigi mentre si gusta il suo mezzo toscano - cucinati con prodotti autentici, del nostro territorio”. Non posso dimenticare lo stinchetto di Fassona con crema d’uovo tonnato, pomodori secchi e capperi di Pantelleria o la galantina di pollo di Monte Serano a Trevi con insalata russa, pistacchio e salsa verde. E poi le mezze lune al profumo di limone ripiene di porchetta, salsa di peperone e finocchio selvatico e disecondo il maiale grigio di Norcia con cipolle in agrodolce e mostarda al miele. I pani e le paste sono assolutamente fatti in casa mentre la cantina, oltre al locale Sagrantino, è ricca di preziose bottiglie molte delle quali arrivano dalla collezione privata di Luigi. Ricerca e salute sono i punti fermi del suo stile in cucina anche se in effetti ai fornelli lavora Fabio Migliorati. Molto conosciuto in Umbria per i suoi precedenti locali a Bastia e Foligno adesso è stato “sequestrato” da Luigi già suo fedele cliente. Sì, perché Luigi porta con sé un importante bagaglio di conoscenze enogastronomiche frutto della sua passione ed esperienza come cliente in vari ristoranti anche in giro per il mondo cogliendo le contaminazioni di diverse culture. Dalla passione alla professione il percorso è stato lungo ma il passo breve.

And the value of this Foresteria is due to the fact that Luigi Del Giacco, together with his French wife Christine (who left her home in Cap d’Antibes in Cote d’Azure), welcomes guests as friends, making them feel right at home. They work alonside the Cecchi Family in this “tasty and delicious” hospitality project.

The furnishings are simple yet comfortable, and bottles of wine adorn the walls like books in a library. The menu is tempting and changes with the seasons. There are no extravagances here but a profound knowledge and a nearly religious respect for ingredients. “I like the traditional dishes - states Luigi while he puffs away at his mezzo toscano cooked with authentic products, grown locally”. Worthy of mention are the stinchetto di Fassona with egg cream, pistachios and green sauce; the mezze lune pasta with lemon zest stuffed with porchetta, pepper sauce and wild fennel; grey Norcia pork with caramelized onions and honey mostarda. All the bread and pasta are made strictly on the premises while the wine cellar, in addition to the local Sagrantino, contains a wealth of precious bottles, many of which from Luigi’s private collection. Research and health are the key points to his way of thinking and in the kitchen even if in actual fact it is Fabio Migliorati who does the cooking. Well known in Umbria for his previous experience in Bastia and Foligno, he has now been “sequestered” by Luigi who was his faithful client. That’s because Luigi brings with him a rich background of wine and good food, fruit of his passion and experience as a client in restaurants all over the world, capturing the contaminations of many cultures. The path from passion to profession was long but the steps were short.

SPAGHETTI WITH SEA URCHINS ON LEMON CREAM AND CHILI PEPPER

by Chef Simone Strano 400 g Spaghetti Sea urchin pulp 150 g to taste lemon rind fish broth to taste potato 80 g chili pepper to taste extravirgin oil to taste to taste parsley Cut the potato into small cubes and cook in a pot with the lemon rind previously blanched three times in boiling water and the fish broth and chili pepper for approx. 15 minutes.

Whip in a blender and keep warm.

Cook the spaghetti. On the side, mix the sea urchin pulp with a bit of the spaghetti water, the chopped parsley and the olive oil. Drain the spaghetti and remove from heat and stir with the sauce until completely blended and creamy.

Put a spoonful of cream on the plate and add the spaghetti, garnishing with chili pepper pistils and grated lemon rind.

WHEN ETHICS MEETS AESTHETICS The editorial staff interviewed Dr. Michela Giovannetti - Physician, specialized in medical hydrology and thermal clinics, a Masters in aesthetic medicine and chief of staff.

This interview is truly enlightening and a wise guide to follow to understand the value of ethics in aesthetics, in feeling good, rediscovering health and wellness through age-old balances while nonetheless respecting onself.

Can you please briefly describe Michela Giovannetti?

A few years ago a giornalist defined me as “The Beauty Doctor”. Actually, I have spent a large portion of my life taking care of beauty. I love art and I collect antiques. I’ve tried to restore beauty since 2001 when aesthetic medicine did not have the interest that it now has. I’ve “painted” some of the most well-known celebrities, politicians and designers but I’ve always remained the same - a person with a strong inclination to know the real “me” of persons, because stating one’s defects to another woman leads one to commence a special relationship between them. An aesthetic treatment, done properly, should almost be invisible because it must be harmonious with facial features, age, sex, race, in short with good taste.

Ci descrive brevemente Michela Giovannetti?

Una giornalista qualche anno fa mi ha definita “La Dottoressa della Bellezza”.

In effetti ho passato gran parte della mia vita curando il bello. Amo l’arte e sono collezionista d’antiquariato. Ho cercato di ripristinare la bellezza dal 2001 quando la medicina estetica non aveva l’interesse che ha adesso. Ho “dipinto” tra i volti più conosciuti dello spettacolo, cinema, politica e moda ma sono rimasta sempre me stessa una persona con l’interesse vivo di conoscere il vero “Io” delle persone, perché dichiarare ad un'altra donna i propri difetti porta ad instaurare un rapporto speciale tra le parti. Un trattamento estetico ben fatto non si deve quasi notare perché deve rimanere in armonia con i lineamenti, con l’età, con il sesso, con la razza, insomma con il buon gusto.

C’è un profondo nesso tra etica ed estetica, di cui non tutti sono fautori. Che ne pensa?

Si confermo che la serietà professionale sia il presupposto fondamentale per una qualsiasi professionista ma lo è ancor di più per un medico estetico che ha la facoltà di porre delle modifiche proprio sulla parte che ci caratterizza e ci rappresenta: la faccia. La premessa più importante nell’eseguire qualsiasi trattamento di Medicina Estetica è il rispetto della peculiare fisiognomica. I lineamenti che caratterizzano l’individuo devono essere preservati per la valorizzazione ed esaltazione dell’unicità di ognuno di noi. È importante che il medico estetico, nello studio del caso clinico, sappia consigliare il minimo intervento capace ripristinare o migliorare quell’equilibrio psico-fisico che, specialmente con gli anni, sembra essere difficile da mantenere. Non deve esserci nessun tentativo di omologazione ad alcun canone di bellezza ma solo miglioramento e mantenimento di quello che madre natura ci ha dato.

There’s a deep connection between ethics and aesthetics, which not everyone promotes. What do you think about this?

Yes, I can confirm that professionalism is the foundation for any professional but even more so for an aestethic physician who has the faculty to make alterations to that part of us that distinguishes us one from another: the face. The most important premise in effectuating any aesthetic medicine treatment is respect for one’s own phtsiological features. The features that distinguish an individual must be preserved for the valorization and exaltation of the uniqueness in each of us. It is important that an aesthetic physician, in styding a clinical case, knows now to advise the least invasive techniques to re-establish or improve the psycho-physical balance which, especially over time, seems difficult to maintain. There must be no attempt at applying any beauty standard but only to improve and maintain what mother nature gave us.

Quanto è fondamentale rispettare la fisionomia di ciascun paziente in medicina estetica nonostante spesso arrivino richieste diverse?

Alcune volte le pazienti porgono alla mia attenzione immagini dallo smartphone. Le richieste più frequenti sono quelle di labbra e/o zigomi troppo pieni rispetto alla conformazione del loro viso o della loro età e questo mi porta frequentemente ad intrattenermi in lunghe consulenze per cercare di capire la ragione di tali richieste. Molto spesso sono dettate dall’insicurezza di sé, dall’ incapacità di accettare in armonia e serenità gli anni che passano oppure possono nascere dalla ricerca di attirare l’attenzione dell’altro sesso, perciò dalla solitudine. Se il medico non ha capacità e volontà di tradurre questo “grido” di aiuto e specula su queste debolezze si entra inesorabilmente nel tunnel della continua ricerca al miglioramento, non solo del viso ma di tutto il corpo, che porta alla trasformazione, allo stravolgimento. Questi rappresentano casi sporadici e il ricorso alle tecniche di medicina estetica non deve essere considerato come una pratica superflua o puramente legata alla sfera della vanità o della patologia. È ormai consolidato che la medicina estetica costituisca un mezzo per vivere meglio con noi stessi, per accettarsi, per adeguare l’aspetto all’efficienza fisica, per sentirsi meglio. Infatti, secondo la definizione di salute, emanata dall’OMS, la salute è “uno stato di completo benessere fisico, mentale e sociale e non la semplice assenza dello stato di malattia .” Il nostro capitale più importante è la salute, preservarla è un nostro dovere.

Brevemente quali le ultime novità o tendenze in ambito estetico? Quale a suo avviso quella più rilevante?

Sicuramente la tendenza principe è quella di cui ho appena parlato, cioè dei non eccessi, dei trattamenti poco invasivi che non si notano. La novità è la carbossiterapia utilizzata per la biostimolazione facciale e non solo per gli ottimi risultati, ormai consolidati negli anni ,contro la cosiddetta cellulite. Si può integrare ai filler e si ottengono ottimi risultati anche per il contorno occhi. La carbossiterapia rappresenta uno step importante nel programmare nel tempo gli interventi per ringiovanimento e il mantenimento dei risultati. Tornano i peeling per migliorare l’aspetto della pelle. Se negli anni scorsi si era assistito a un sorpasso da parte dei laser, adesso la tendenza sembra essersi invertita in particolare per il trattamento del crono aging nonché delle macchie cutanee.

La novità più sorprendente del 2017 è però quella importata dagli USA in primavera. Si tratta di un farmaco sintetico che simula il comportamento di un’altra sostanza naturale presente nell’organismo, l’acido desossicolico. Questo farmaco se iniettato nel tessuto adiposo è capace di “sciogliere” definitivamente il grasso. Al momento le indicazioni terapeutiche sono solo per il grasso che sta sopra un muscolo del collo, il platisma, quindi per adesso si rimodellano in maniera definitiva i profili del collo ma si stanno eseguendo studi scientifici per l’indicazione in altre parti del corpo.

How important is it to respect the physionomy of each patient in aesthetic medicine notwithstanding quite often requests differ?

Certain patients call my attention to images on their smartphones. The most frequent requests are those for lips/cheekbones that are too plump for the shape of their face or their age and this often leads me to lengthy consultations to try to understand the reasons for these requests.

Quite often they are dictated by a lack of self-confidence, by the inability to accept gracefully and serenely that time goes by or by the desire to attract members of the other sex, that is by loneliness. If a physician does not have the ability and desire to translate this “cry” for help and speculates on these weaknesses, then one inexorably enters a tunnel for the continuous chimera of improvement, not just of the face but of the entire body, which leads to transformation, to distortion. These represent sporadic cases and recurring to aesthetic medicine should not be considered as superfluous or merely linked to the sphere of vanity or a pathology. It is a given fact that aesthetic medicine constitutes a means to live better with ourselves, to accept ourselves, to conform our aspects to physical effectiveness, to feel better. In fact, according to the definition of health as set out by who, health is “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not just the mere absence of illness.” Our most important capital is health, preserving it is our duty.

In brief, what are the latest trends or innovations in the aesthetic field? What is the most important in your opinion?

Undoubtedly the main trend is the one I just mentioned, that is no excess, lightly invasive treatments that can’t be noted. The latest innovation is carboxytherapy utilized for facial bio-stimulation and not just for the excellent results, which have been consolidated over time, against the so-called cellulitis. This can be integrated with fillers and excellent results can also be had around the eyes.

Carboxytherapy represents an important step in programming measures over time to renew skin and maintain results. Peeling is always effective in improving skin tone. Although in past years laser had played a larger role, now the trend seems to be inverted, especially for the chrono aging treatments as well as skin spotting.

The most surprising innovation for 2017 however is that imported from the United States last spring. This is a synthetic drug that simulates the behavior of another natural substance found in our organisms, deoxycholic acid. When injected in fatty tissue, this drug can definitively “dissolve” fat. At the present time therapeutic indications are only for the fat found above a neck muscle, the platysma, therefore currently the neck countours can be definitively remodeled but scientific studies are being conducted on other parts of the body.

Ed ora nel 2017 è in uscita il suo Breath, l’atteso film che segna il suo debutto da regista e produttore - in cui è anche attore insieme ad un ricco cast di stelle australiane. Il film trae ispirazione dal romanzo bestseller internazionale del pluripremiato Tim Winton, ambientato nell’Australia costiera occidentale negli anni ‘70. Protagonisti due surfisti adolescenti, desiderosi di scoperte che stringono un’ improbabile amicizia con misterioso e vecchio avventuriero - il surfista Sando interpretato dallo stesso Baker - che li spingerà a rischi che avranno profonde conseguenze sulle loro vite. Un film che disegna e promuove questa terra, l’Australia e il suo spirito. Baker a tal proposito ha raccontato di essersi ispirato a varie pellicole che hanno fatto del paesaggio un “personaggio”, un protagonista centrale nella storia, come Leviathan e il film francese Il blu è il colore più caldo, così come altri ancora riguardanti il delicato momento dell’adolescenza.

Simon ha inoltre specificato che il suo obiettivo da regista è stato voler andare oltre la mera rappresentazione parodistica della cultura australiana, caratteristica della produzione locale, così come si è rifiutato di scimmiottare certe produzioni americane, si è ripromesso, al contrario, di realizzare un film in cui potersi identificare, senza il rischio di annoiare il pubblico o di sfociare nel nonsense.

Un vero attore, un uomo autentico ed appassionato.

Regista, conduttore, attore impegnato tra cinema e teatro.

Ma anche imprenditore e soprattutto appassionato continuatore delle tradizioni familiari. Dei sapori genuini e del km0, del legame tra buona cucina, convivialità ed arte, di cui Ugo Tognazzi, fu un grande anticipatore.

Occhi che hanno da raccontare, un uomo affascinante e di grande spessore, la sua intensità e i suoi valori traspaiono dalle sue parole. Sul set di questo shooting e durante l’intervista la sensazione è stata di incontrare un vero attore e un uomo autentico.

Sorride, scherza, balla, si sente a suo agio e mette tutti a loro agio.

Un fiume di parole in cui si coglie la felicità di raccontare ancora una volta questo suo sogno realizzato. È un bel momento per Gianmarco, denso di impegni, di grandi emozioni e soddisfazioni. Una lunga tournée a teatro con La guardiana di cui è regista oltre che personaggio maschile. La definisce una sfida vinta. Un’opera di sperimentazione contemporanea, in cui Gianmarco è riuscito a fondere poesia, musica e teatro con grande successo. L’autunno lo vedrà protagonista in TV con un docufilm Nel nome del popolo italiano (che trae spunto dal film di Ugo e Gassman) che ripercorre le vicende di personaggi che hanno cambiato la storia d’Italia pagando con la loro stessa vita come il giudice Vittorio Occorsio. Qui Gianmarco è voce narrante e la figura che ne ricostruisce la storia attraverso un percorso di memoria. Sempre in TV per un noto canale tematico di food, dopo 25 anni torna ad essere conduttore del food game Chopped, la I edizione italiana di un format internazionale di successo in cui chef professionisti si sfidano ai fornelli. Sarà poi nelle sale cinematografiche accanto a Vanessa Incontrada nel film di Federico Moccia. A teatro con Elena Sofia Ricci in Vetri Rotti di Arthur Miller, altra impresa titanica. E non da ultimo inizierà a girare con Gabriele Muccino sul set de L’Isola che non c’è, un film corale per cui c’è già grande attesa.

Gianmarco è semplicemente un fiume di energia positiva. Difficile raccontarlo in poche righe e in tutta la sua profondità e quel carisma così naturale.

Eyes that tell a tale, a charming and multi-faceted man, his intensity and his values shine forth from his words. On the set for this shooting and during the interview the sensation was that of meeting a real actor and a real man.

He smiles, he jokes, he dances, he is comfortable and makes everyone else comfortable too.

A stream of words in which one feels his happiness in being able to once again talk about this dream he has realized.

This is a good time for Gianmarco, ripe with commitments, strong emotions and satisfactions. A lengthy theater tournée with The guardian, with him as director as well as the leading actor. He defines it as a challenge won.

A work of contemporary experimentation, in which Gianmarco has quite successfully blended poetry, music and theater. This fall we will see him starring in TV with a docufilm In the name of the Italian populace (which is based on a movie with Ugo and Vittorio Gassman) which tells the story of numerous persons who have changed the history of Italy, paying with their own lives, as is the case of Judge Vittorio Occorsio. Here Gianmarco is the narrator and the figure who reconstructs the story through memories. Again for TV for a well-known food channel, after 25 years he will once again conduct the food game Chopped, the first Italian edition of a successful international format in which professional chefs challenge each other in the kitchen. He will then be in movie theaters alongside Vanessa Incontrada in the movie by Federico Moccia. In the theater with Elena Sofia Ricci in Broken Glass by Arthur Miller, another titanic undertaking. And last but not least he will start shooting with Gabriele Muccino on the set of L'Isola che non c'è, a choral film which everyone can’t wait to see.

Gianmarco is simply a burst of positive energy. Hard to tell it all in a few lines and in all his profundity and that natural charisma.

“Direi che il mio rapporto con la moda di certo - come per ogni cosa nella mia vita - parte da un rapporto umano. La libertà è il mio lusso. Credo sia incomparabile ad altro essere liberi di scegliere per la propria vita. Di sicuro io sono stato privilegiato dalla mia famiglia ma proprio per questo il mio obiettivo è continuare a far vivere la memoria di quei luoghi che mi sono stati lasciati, una vera eredità culturale da tramandare. Non ho vezzi e non amo l’ostentazione, la materialità.

“I would say that my relationship with fashion certainly, as with every other thing in my life, starts with a human relationship. Freedom is my luxury. I think nothing can compare to being free to choose one’s own life. No doubt I have been privileged by my family but precisely because of this my goal is to continue to keep alive the memory of those places that have been left to me, a true cultural heritage to leave to others.

I don’t have mannerisms and I don’t like ostentation, materialism.

Questo il mio stile di vita, ed è stato lo stile di vita della mia famiglia. Mio padre Ugo è stato un grande precursore in tante cose, ci ha trasmesso un modo di essere, l’amore per le cose semplici, per la condivisione e la convivialità, il mettere a disposizione degli altri ciò che si possiede. La nostra casa era sempre ‘aperta’ e io oggi sto lavorando con grande impegno per rendere sempre più fruibile un po’ di Ugo Tognazzi e della sua filosofia”.

Così è nata La Tognazza, un luogo magico che incarna il suo mondo e quello di Ugo. Dove lui cucinava solo ciò che produceva il suo orto e dove sono stati scritti film storici del Cinema italiano.

“A cena a casa con Monicelli, Benvenuti o De Bernardi bevendo il nostro vino sono nate battute che appartengono al patrimonio del Paese. Anche per questo mi definisco un ‘wine lover’ da sempre ma dalla produzione di nicchia da condividere solo con gli amici ora siamo diventati un brand: un sogno realizzato. Un lungo percorso che incarna lo spirito audace e creativo di famiglia, l’essere un po’ indisciplinati, fuori dagli schemi come Ugo. Proprio così è il nostro vino, anche nei nomi - Tapioco, Come se Fosse e Antani - c’è un gioco di nascondini che evocano gioiosità e dietro ogni dettaglio c’è la nostra storia da raccontare. Abbiamo raggiunto le 70mila bottiglie creando un blend ed unendo due territori: Lazio e Toscana. Ci piacciono le commistioni originali. Ed in questo autunno lanciamo tre vini nuovi di alta fascia: il Conte Mascetti, il Voglia Matta e il Casa Vecchia Un rosso e due bianchi elaboratissimi che segnano una forte crescita e un posizionamento diverso per La Tognazza. E poi spero che la prossima primavera ci porti il “69” per cui stiamo pensando ad una lavorazione diversa per ottenere un vino più diretto”.

Un’ultima domanda su Gianmarco Tognazzi papà e marito.

Quale la ricetta perfetta - se esiste - per tenere tutto in equilibrio?

“La pazienza e l’intelligenza di mia moglie, dopo 11 anni di matrimonio la amo più di prima e sono certo che non avrei fatto tutto questo senza lei accanto. Un’altra chiave del nostro successo, se così si può dire, penso sia stata la decisione di vivere a Velletri e accentrare tutto in questo luogo dell’anima, che significa molto per la nostra famiglia”.

A tal proposito ci anticipa che sta per aprire le porte a chi vorrà conoscere meglio questo mondo attraverso la ‘Casa Museo’ di Ugo Tognazzi.

That’s another reason why I have always defined myself as a 'wine lover' but from a small production to be shared only with friends now we have become a brand: a dream come true. A long journey that embodies the audacious spirit and family creativity, being a bit undisciplined, outside the box like Ugo. That’s how our wine is, in their names too - Tapioco, Come se Fosse and Antani - there’s a game of hide-and-seek that calls to mind playfulness and behind each detail there’s our story to be told. We’ve reached 70,000 bottles creating a blend and uniting two territories: Lazio and Tuscany. We like original combinations. And this fall we will launch three new high-level wines: Conte Mascetti, Voglia Matta and Casa Vecchia A red and two very elaborate whites that mark a strong growth and different positioning for La Tognazza. And then I hope next spring brings us the “69” for which we’re thinking about a different way of working to obtain a more direct wine”.

What is the perfect recipe, if one exists, to keeping everything balanced?

“The patience and intelligence of my wife, after 11 years of marriage I love her more than ever and I’m certain that I would not have been able to accomplish all this without her beside me. Another key to our success, if you can call it that, was I think the decision to live in Velletri and to make this the center of everything, our soul, which means so much for our family”.

La grazia ed eleganza senza tempo di una diva del cinema mondiale divengono protagoniste dell’immagine ufficiale della dodicesima edizione della Festa del Cinema di Roma, in programma dal 26 ottobre al 5 novembre 2017, prodotta dalla Fondazione Cinema per Roma e presieduta da Piera Detassis, con la direzione artistica di Antonio Monda.

Un’immagine iconica: con il suo little black dress, tanto di immancabile cappellino e ballerine. Elegante, scanzonata e senza tempo. La bellezza eterna di Audrey Hepburn è esaltata nell’immagine scelta da allegri palloncini colorati, i tanti colori del Cinema. Lo scatto realizzato dal fotografo David Seymour riproduce l’attrice durante le riprese del film Funny Face (1957). La Festa del Cinema rende così omaggio alla pellicola firmata dal premio Oscar® Onorario Stanley Donen, che festeggia nel 2017 il sessantesimo anniversario dall’uscita in sala, e ad un genere, quello del musical, che attraversa quest’anno l’intera manifestazione: i titoli che compongono il programma della rassegna “I film della nostra vita” sono infatti scelti in quest’ambito. THE CITY AND ITS SEVENTH ART The timeless grace and elegance of an international movie star are the symbols of the official image of the twelfth edition of the Festa del Cinema di Roma, scheduled between October 26 and November 5, 2017, produced by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma and chaired by Piera Detassis, under the artistic direction of Antonio Monda.

An iconic image: with her little black dress, inevitable little hat and ballerina flats. Elegant, carefree and timeless. Audrey Hepburn’s eternal beauty is highlighted by colored baloons in the image selected, the many colors of Cinema. The shot realized by photographer David Seymour portrays the actress during filming of Funny Face (1957). La Festa del Cinema thus pays tribute to the movie by Honorary Oscar® Stanley Donen, which in 2017 celebrates the 60th anniversary, and to a musicals, which play an important role in this year’s event: the titles that make up the program “The movies from our lives” in fact have been chosen with this in mind. Moreover, prior to each showing the audience can see brief videos of the most famous and significant musicals.

FRA MUSICA E CINEMA NYsferatu di Andrea Mastrovito con l’Orchestra “Luigi Boccherini” La Festa del Cinema 2017 ospiterà uno speciale evento fra cinema e musica, la proiezione del film NYsferatu di Andrea Mastrovito con l’accompagnamento dal vivo dell’Orchestra “Luigi Boccherini” di Lucca. L’artista italiano, che vive e lavora a New York, ha ridisegnato a mano uno dei capolavori del cinema muto, Nosferatu, realizzato nel 1922 da Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. Il risultato finale - che ha richiesto un’enorme sforzo produttivo, tre anni di lavoro e circa trentamila tavole - è quello di un film d’animazione ambientato in una cupa e misteriosa New York dei nostri giorni, segnata da tensioni razziali nei confronti degli immigrati.

The Italian artist, who lives and works in New York, has redesigned by hand one of the masterpieces of silent movies, Nosferatu, realized in 1922 by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. The end result, which required an enormous production effort, three years of work and approximately thirty thousand tables – is that of an animated movie set in a gloomy and mysterious current-day New York, marked by racial tensions with respect to immigrants.

The new chapter in the Collection Extraordinaire Bois Doré leads to the center of a precious ingredient. It’s a fruit with hints of tobacco, that looks dark like burned wood: the tonka bean. Far from being a soliflore, this composition creates a fusion between the tonka bean and cedar wood, like a gold nugget transformed into a jewel.

Mete decisamente da scoprire con nuovi occhi. Fra l’altro il 2017 è l’anno dedicato al tema “Da Mondriaan al Dutch Design” molti gli eventi per celebrare in Olanda il centenario del movimento De Stijl (in inglese “The Style”). Altro spunto decisamente luxury: Amsterdam è la città dei diamanti. Da ben quattrocento anni è il centro della lavorazione e del commercio dei diamanti e sede della Borsa dei Diamanti. La Coster Diamonds ha recentemente inaugurato un museo dedicato al diamante, dove in otto sale viene illustrato lo sviluppo di questa industria negli ultimi 400 anni. Oltre ad esibire diamanti autentici, il museo espone anche copie di celebri gioielli e vengono date indicazioni su come distinguere i diamanti autentici da quelli falsi. La visita al museo prevede un percorso che inizia con un filmato introduttivo sulla storia dei diamanti, i sistemi estrattivi e i processi di trasformazione da pietra grezza a gioiello scintillante. Se colorati si chiamano “fancy colours” e sono particolarmente rari e ricercati. Era giallo il brillante di Tiffany indossato da Audrey Hepburn per la presentazione del film Colazione da Tiffany. La parte più affascinante del Museo è quella dedicata alle riproduzioni dei diamanti più famosi al mondo, come il Cullinan I, chiamato anche "Stella d’Africa", che fa parte dei gioielli della corona britannica ed è incastonato sullo scettro reale a goccia. Si può ammirare anche il diamante sudafricano Taylor-Burton, dono di Richard Burton nel 1969 alla moglie Elizabeth Taylor.

Pesa ben 68 carati, a forma di goccia, e fu montato da Cartier su una collana con molti altri diamanti e gemme.

Cities that definitely should be discovered with new eyes.

Amongst other things, 2017 is the year dedicated to the theme “From Mondriaan to Dutch Design” and there are numerous events in Holland to celebrate the De Stijl movement (“The Style”). Another decidedly luxury hint: Amsterdam is known for its diamonds. For more than four hundred years Amsterdam has been the center for cutting and dealing in diamonds and the home of the Diamond Exchange. Coster Diamonds has recently inaugurated a museum dedicated to diamonds: eight rooms illustrate the development of this industry over the past 400 years. In addition to displaying authentic diamonds, the museum also displays copies of famous jewels and indications are given on how to distinguish real diamonds from fake ones.

The visit to the museum also includes an introductory video on the story of diamonds, how they are mined and how they are transformed from raw stones to brilliant jewels. If colored, they are called “fancy colors” and are especially rare and sought after. The jewel that Audrey Hepburn wore to present the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” was a Tiffany yellow. The most interesting part of the museum is that dedicated to reproductions of the most famous diamonds in the world, such as the Cullinan I, also called the “Star of Africa", which is part of the British crown jewels and is set in the royal scepter. One can also admire the South African Taylor-Burton diamond, given by Richard Burton in 1969 to his wife Elizabeth Taylor. It weighs a whopping 68 carats, pear-shaped, and was set by Cartier in a necklacewith many other diamonds and gems.

Un’altra scoperta incredibile di Amsterdam è stata la Casa Museo di Rembrandt che di certo merita una visita.

Un’attenta ricostruzione della dimora dell’artista e uno spaccato nello stile di vita olandese di quel tempo. Affascinante lo studio con i vari pigmenti naturali utilizzati per ottenere i colori necessari per dare alle tele tante sfumature. Un genio del disegno, un collezionista e mercante d’arte di grande fama.

In 1979, following her divorce from Burton, Taylor sold it for five mllion dollars, a part of which was donated to charity. Another incredible find in Amsterdam is Rembrandt’s House, which certainly deserves a visit.

Wallpaper has been used in some of the rooms and suites, adding a new and distinctive decorative element with Fornasetti motifs and sylvan grey designs

by Lewis & Wood. Each room is decorated with a mix of modern pieces and more traditional elements inspired by Roman history, highlighted with bright cushions made from Zimmer + Rohde fabrics. The contemporary feel of the rooms is enhanced by timeless furniture: tables by Porta Romana and chairs by Potacco; custom-made elegant TV cabinets by Porada and handcrafted throws from San Patrignano. The great names of Italian design and craftsmanship, alongside the best hi tech innovations.

Commenting on the refurbishment of Hotel de Russie, Olga Polizzi says: “In my mind, Hotel de Russie is still the most beautiful hotel in Rome.

Nowhere is there a garden quite like ours - a true oasis in the busy city where you can sit and relax with a glass of wine or a cocktail. All of the rooms have been renovated and refreshed. We have added new, vibrant colors - papal oranges and purples - and added a bit of vitality with original touches that include pillows and wallpaper. THE NEW WAY OF CONCEIVING LIVING SPACES In recent years the relationship between living and architecture, between home and design, has changed radically; more than ever the home represents an “opportunity” for telling about oneself, one’s daily routine, one’s ability to keep up with the times, one’s vocation for technology. As in olden days, architecture confirms its role as an “instrument of communication”, of a vehicle of information, it is used as a sort of “scenic machine” able to tell a tale and transfer contents. Although originally it was merely considered as a “place” in which to take shelter after a day of work and stress, now it has become a theater of meetings, of exchanges, of sharing; the house is no longer just a container of familiar objects, but a sophisticated mediatic system where form, color, matter and light coexist in a delicate aesthetic equilibrium.

We met with architect Marco Giammetta, one of the two owners of Giammetta Architects, a well-consolidated name in Italy and abroad that for more than 25 years works on all aspects of an architectural project.

And engineer Andrea De Martino, founder and CEO of Engineering Solutions, an Italian excellence for the past 15 years in the corporate, residential and naval sectors, realizing special “smart” systems in favor of increasingly more integrated automation with all the electronic devices needed today in a contemporary dwelling.

Arch. Giammetta, come sta cambiando il rapporto tra committente ed architettura? Come viene percepito oggi il “valore” del design e come viene utilizzato?

La capacità di percezione e conoscenza del design e dell’architettura, negli ultimi anni, si è amplificata in maniera esponenziale grazie all’utilizzo delle interfacce multimediali. Il Committente conosce, viaggia, si informa si confronta ed ha una maggiore predisposizione al bello ed al design. Oggi si può viaggiare da una scrivania e vedere il mondo senza intraprendere le fatiche di un viaggio. Il committente, quando si avvicina a noi, ha il desiderio di oltrepassare il suo limite estetico ed entrare in sinergia per trasformare la sua casa in un’occasione di crescita. Noi gli prospettiamo due scelte: fare la propria casa con forme e materiali familiari e rassicuranti o vivere in un’opera di architettura, tentando di evolvere il proprio linguaggio estetico attraverso nuove dinamiche abitative. Noi predilegiamo la seconda strada.

Arch. Giammetta, how is the relationship between client and architecture changing? How is the “value” of design perceived today and how is it utilized?

In recent years, the capacity of perception and knowledge of design and architecture has expanded exponentially thanks to the use of multimedia interfaces. Today’s client is knowledgeable, he travels, he looks things up and compares them and has a stronger inclination towards beauty and design. Today one can travel from a desk and see the world without suffering the fatigue of a journey. When a client approaches us, he wants to go beyond his aesthetic limits and enter into synergy to transform his home in an opportunity for growth. We provide him with two choices: make his home with familiar reassuring forms and materials or live in an architectural work, attempting to evolve his aesthetic language through new dwelling dynamics. We prefer the latter.

Sicuramente un approccio più affascinante e stimolante ma non è facile modificare le proprie abitudini. Quanto di questo percorso viene condiviso e accettato? È un percorso che si porta avanti insieme, passo per passo. Si parte dalle funzioni, che devono rispondere alle aspettative abitative del cliente, per poi approcciare la parte di immagine architettonica, e lì inizia un processo lento di avvicinamento al linguaggio contemporaneo. In tutte le esperienze fatte fino ad ora, il committente ha seguito con estrema apertura questo approccio concettuale e si è spinto avanti, fino a non poter piu’ tornare indietro. L’architettura ha una sua morfologia, una sintassi, quando la si studia, si riesce a percepire perfettamente il suo valore.

Ing.De Martino da dove nasce l’idea di coinvolgere sin dall’inizio di una progettazione di impianti lo studio di architettura di riferimento, e quali i vantaggi di una simile collaborazione per il cliente finale.

Mi occupo di sistemi tecnologici da oltre 30 anni, mi considero un figlio d’arte dal momento che sono letteralmente cresciuto in un laboratorio tecnico aiutando ed accompagnando mio padre, uno storico radiotecnico, durante i suoi interventi presso i clienti più disparati che molto spesso non comprendevano o non immaginavano la velocità con cui la tecnologia prendeva sempre più piede nella vita di tutti i giorni. Nei miei numerosi anni di studio come studente di ingegneria elettronica inizialmente, nonché di ricercatore presso l’ESTEC ESA (Ente Spaziale Europeo) successivamente, per finire in qualità di imprenditore e progettista nella mia società, ho percepito la necessità di rendere le soluzioni tecnologiche, anche le più complesse, integrabili in ogni progetto architettonico e facilmente comprensibili ad una clientela sempre più esigente ma anche fortemente confusa. È cosi che già in una fase embrionale è importante avere una perfetta sinergia tra il progettista tecnologico e quello architettonico, prosegue l’ing. De Martino, in questo modo è possibile analizzare da subito tutte le possibili soluzioni che permettano di ottenere la fusione fra design e tecnologia. Lavorare in sinergia con lo studio Giammetta, oramai da circa 20 anni ci permette di rispondere a 360° ai desiderata dei nostri clienti, portandoci un indiscutibile valore aggiunto e ottimi risultati, possibili proprio grazie a questo lavoro sinergico di 2 realtà complementari. Nasce quindi un nuovo modo di realizzare, un modo evoluto, che racchiude come nodo nevralgico del progettare il più semplice dei concetti: quello di pre-vedere, cioè di vedere prima.

Doubtless a more fascinating and stimulating approach but it’s not easy to change one’s habits. How much of this path is shared and accepted?

It’s a path that must be followed together, step by step. Starting with the functions, which must correspond to the client’s dwelling expectations, to then approach the part pertaining to the architectural image, and there begins the slow process of approaching a contemporary language. In all of my experiences to date, the client has closely followed this conceptual approach and has even pushed further ahead, to the point of not being able to turn back. Architecture has its own morphology, a syntax, when studied, one can perfectly perceive its value.

Ing. De Martino, where does the idea come from to get an architectural firm involved from the onset in a project, and what are the advantages for such a collaboration for the end client?

My field of expertise is systems technologies, for more than thirty years, and I consider myself lucky inasmuch I literally grew up in a laboratory, helping and accompanying my father, a famous radio technician, during his visits to his varied clients who very often did not understand or even imagine the speed with which technology has taken over our lives. During my many years of initially studying electronic engineering as well as a researcher with ESTEC ESA (European Space Agency) thereafter, to then become an entrepreneur and programmer for my company, I perceived the need to make even the most complex technological solutions interactable in each architectural project and easily understandable to an increasingly demanding but also strongly confused clientele. So, even in the early stages, it’s important to have perfect synergy between the technological programmer and the architectural programmer, continues De Martino, that way all the solutions can be analyzed in advance in order to obtain a blend between design and technology. Working synergically with studio Giammetta for the past twenty years has enabled us to respond to all our clients’ wishes, giving us an indisputable value added and excellent results, thanks to this synergic melding of two complementary realities. A new method, therefore, is created, an evoluted method, that encompasses in the heart of the project the simplest of concepts: that of pre-seeing, that is seeing before”.

Ad entrambi chiediamo quanto l’aspetto tecnologico oggi viene tollerato e quanto viene invece amplificato dal committente?

Arch.Giammetta: Siamo nell’epoca dei tablet, delle interfacce. Non si puo’ più immaginare una residenza contemporanea che non sia controllabile o manutenibile da remoto. Il futuro è in quella direzione. Vent’anni fa’ uscendo da una riunione con l’ingegnere e oggi amico Andrea De Martino, esperto in building automation, parlavamo di domotica come fossimo dei marziani venuti da un altro mondo. Nessuno ci capiva e ci limitavamo pertanto ad ideare solo sistemi di entertainment audio e video sofisticati ed architettonicamente integrati permettendoci di suggerire timidamente l’uso di telecomandi multifunzione programmabili, in grado di eseguire funzioni multimedia preimpostate.

Un grande passo avanti è stato fatto e sta coinvolgendo tutto il nostro approccio progettuale, tanto da essere considerati uno studio in questo senso evoluto e proiettato verso il futuro.

Ing. De Martino: Oggi il cliente ci chiede di videocontrollare la sua casa, telegestire la sicurezza, i sistemi di riscaldamento, condizionamento o di produzione energetica, l’autodiagnosi di malfunzionamenti dei corpi illuminanti o di altri dispositivi in campo, compresa l’irrigazione del giardino ed ogni altra funzione della casa, direttamente dal proprio smartphone mentre si trova nella propria casa di villeggiatura o a bordo del proprio natante, predisponendo alla bisogna anche l’accensione di alcuni scenari illuminotecnici per dare l’idea di aver lasciato la residenza abitata. Una casa intelligente che si autogestisce e si autoregola, sempre in un’ottica di mini invasività e facilità di gestione.

We asked both of them how much today the technological aspect is tollerate and how much instead it is amplified by the client?

Arch. Giammetta: We’re in the tablet age, and interfaces.

We can no longer imagine a contemporary residence that is not controlled or maintained by remote. The future lies in that direction. Twenty years ago coming out of a meeting with engineer and today my friend Andrea De Martino, an expert in building automation, we spoke of domotics as though we were aliens from another world.

No one understood us and therefore we werelimited to creating only architecturally integrated sophisticated audio visual systems, timidly suggesting the use of programmable multi-function remote controls, able to execute pre-imposed multimedia functions.

A big step ahead was taken and involves our entire planning approach, to the point that it is considered a study in this sense and projected towards the future”.

Ing. De Martino: Today clients ask us to video control their homes, remote control security, heating, air conditioning or producing electricity, to self-diagnose malfunctions in lighting or other devices, including garden irrigation and all the other functions of the home, directly from their smartphones while they are in their vacation home or on board their boat, according to need programming switching the lights on to give the impression of being at home. An intelligent home that manages itself and regulates itself, with the aim of a minimum of fuss and easy manageability.

Un’ultima curiosità ing. De Martino, legata proprio al futuro della building automation, comunemente chiamata domotica. Oggi a che punto siamo? Quali le maggiori tendenze o richieste?

I nostri clienti senza dubbio richiedono sempre più la possibilità di gestire in piena autonomia le varie funzioni della propria residenza, o anche di tenere connesse e collegate le varie proprietà che possiedono, dal momento che una volta entrati a vivere nella loro nuova realtà tecnologicamente cucita addosso, si rendono conto delle carenze o mancanze di quanto possiedono per esempio nella casa di villeggiatura o in vista di un prossimo acquisto, interpellandoci in qualità di consulenti “evoluti” in grado di far mutare pelle alle loro nuove residenze sin dalle prime fasi della scelta. Ritorna pertanto quel concetto del “prima, del pre-vedere”, dell’intervenire quasi come fossimo confidenti di famiglia in fase di scelta, per rispondere al meglio alle richieste di una clientela sempre più esigente e pronta a fare proprie queste nuove realtà. È così che mi sono anche ritrovato con il cliente a valutare gli impianti di una nuova possibile proprietà immobiliare, catapultandomi 5 minuti dopo nella sua azienda durante un’importante riunione in corso per farmi toccare con mano l’arretratezza di alcune scelte tecnologiche intraprese senza che ci fosse un’innovativa strategia di sviluppo tecnologico. Questo per dire come sempre più agiamo in qualità di consulenti a tutto tondo instaurando un rapporto di fiducia che va oltre quello che dovrebbe intercorrere tra cliente e professionista, diventando “gente di famiglia” a tutela e fautori del loro benessere nel mondo a loro più caro: la casa, la famiglia, l’azienda. Un altro aspetto che definirei di tendenza, che emerge già in fase di raccolta dei desiderata del cliente oltre ad essere il nostro fiore all’occhiello, è il concetto di salvaguarda dell’ambiente; oggi l’uso della tecnologia in modo oculato nei nostri impianti ci permette di rispondere gestendo al meglio i problemi del risparmio ed efficientemente energetico, potendo monitorare i livelli di consumo e regolandone i flussi nonché devolvendo la produzione di energia elettrica e termica a fonti alternative (quali l’uso di pannelli solari fotovoltaici, termici, sonde geotermiche o scambi geotermici, o anche semplicemente introducendo nel sistema di “smart house” centraline domotiche meteorologiche che gestiscano le varie funzioni della residenza in base alle reali necessità in funzione delle condizioni esterne di temperatura, umidità, vento e irraggiamento solare. Quindi tecnologia sia ma sempre più nel rispetto dell’ambiente.

One last question, Ing. De Martino, linked to the future of building automation, commonly called domotics. Where do we stand today? What are the main trends or requests?

No doubt our clients increasingly ask for the possibility of managing autonomously the various functions of their dwellings or even to keep connected and linked the various properties that they possess, since once a client begins to live in this new madeto-order technonogical reality, they realize all the things they lack or that malfunction in their current properties or in virtue of a forthcoming purchase, asking us to be “advanced” consultants able to change the aspects of their new residences from the very beginning. We thus go back to the concept of that ”first, of the pre-seeing”, of intervening almost as those we were trusted family confidants during the choosing, to better respond to the request to an increasingly demanding clentele and ready to make these innovations their own. And so I found myself with a client evaluating the plants for a potential new property, catapulting me five minutes later in his company during an important business meeting to have me see for myself how backwards some of those technological choices were without there being an innovative strategy for technological development. This is just to say how we always act as all-around consultants, initiating a trusting relationship that goes beyond what there should be between client and professional, becoming “part of the family” safeguarding their wellbeing in the world dearest to them: their home, the family, the business. Another aspect that I could define as a trend, that arises in the early phases of a client’s wishes and is also one of our strong points, is the concept of safeguarding the environment; today the careful use of technology in our systems enables us to better respond to the questions of savings and energy efficiency, better monitor consumption levels and regulate flows as well as re-routing the production of electric and thermal energy to alternative sources (such as the use of solar panels, geo-thermal instruments or geo-thermal switches or even simply introducing domotic meteorlogical “smart house” systems that manage the various functions of the house based on real need and the external temperature, humidity and sunshine. So of course technology but only respecting the environment.

Proprio in quest’ottica di risparmio energetico, rispetto dell’ambiente ed esigenze future di connessione tra le varie proprietà di un unico cliente state realizzando insieme 2 casali interdipendenti nella splendida campagna umbra, giusto?

Sì certo, da oltre un anno stiamo lavorando a 4 mani alla progettazione integrata di una villa bifamiliare con un ampio parco. Un emblema di 'casa intelligente' gestibile integralmente da remoto, dove c’è una forte integrazione di luce, architettura ed alta tecnologia. Smart building automation in tal caso per rendere anche ecosostenibili queste abitazioni ed ottimizzare enormemente i consumi energetici. Vari i punti di approvvigionamento della luce solare, fra cui delle pensiline con pannelli solari. Un complesso sistema di pompe sotterranee per consentire il recupero dell’acqua piovana per l’innaffiamento del parco. Quindi un grande equilibrio fra innovazione ed attenzione all’ambiente.

Dateci dunque mediante la vostra peculiare esperienza una visione del prossimo futuro.

Marco Giammetta: L’architettura è in movimento, l’ipertrofia delle superfici, dell’interfaccia, del sensibile, del visibile, del tattile va in questo senso: risponde alla frammentazione del pensiero contemporaneo, che è instabilità, gioco di trasparenze, adattamento al tempo reale, manipolazione dell’immagine e del segno.

I MAGNIFICI 7 (LA TOP 7 by Luxury files magazine) È stata una mostra che, per una volta, ha messo d’accordo pubblico e critica. Venezia 74 si chiude con un bilancio positivo, con 21 film in concorso e tanti altri nelle sezioni collaterali che hanno quasi sempre convinto. Difficile quindi stilare una classifica, comunque si scelga sarà difficile restare delusi all’uscita dalla sala cinematografica.

Inevitabilmente, però, al di là dei vincitori, qualche titolo è riuscito meglio di altri, per una sceneggiatura particolarmente originale, per immagini sorprendenti, per un cast che rimane nel cuore. Ecco le scelte di Luxury Files magazine.

THE MAGNIFICENT 7 (THE TOP 7 by Luxury files magazine) For once, it was an exhibition that the public and the critics agreed on. Venezia 74 closes in the black, with 21 films competing and many others in the collateral sections that nearly always were well acclaimed. Hard to select the winners, but no matter how one chooses no one is deluded upon leaving the movie theater.

Inevitably, though, aside from the winners, some films turned out better than others, whether due to an especially original screenplay or exceptional photography or due to a particularly captivating cast. Luxury Files magazine chose the following.

CANDELARIA Havana, 1994. Negli anni della crisi nera, con il bloqueo sempre più rigido e la Russia che non manda più aiuti dopo la caduta del muro, i cubani sono costretti a inventarsi di tutto per mettere insieme pranzo e cena.

Candelaria, un’anziana cantante, e il marito ex giocatore di baseball, grazie a una telecamera ritrovata per caso, diventano in maniera tenera e divertita una coppia a luci rosse, molto richiesta dai turisti. Standing ovation in sala per i 2 protagonisti, bravissimi e commoventi, mai volgari. Battono gli stereotipati Robert Redford e Jane Fonda a mani basse, con un budget infinitamente più basso.

Havana, 1994. In the dark years of crisis, with the blockade stricter than ever and Russia no longer sending aid, Cubans are forced to fend for themselves in order to put food on the table. Candelaria, an elderly singer, and her husband a former baseball player, thanks to a video camera found by chance become hesitantly and entertainingly a “redlight district” couple, much in demand by tourists. Standing ovation in the theater for the two leading roles, very heartwarming and never vulgar. They beat the stereotypes Robert Redford and Jane Fonda hands down, with an infinitely lower budget too.

NICO, 1988 Raddoppia, dopo Il cosmonauta, la brava Susanna Nicchiarelli e fa un film che piace sia ai reduci sessantottini, sia ai giovani che hanno potuto ripercorrere gli ultimi anni e apprezzare l’estro e la voce di Christa Päffgen, in arte Nico. Musa di Warhol, bellissima, cantante dei Velvet Underground vive una seconda vita quando inizia la sua carriera da solista. Qui seguiamo gli ultimi tour di Nico e della band che l'accompagnava in giro per l'Europa negli anni '80: anni in cui la sacerdotessa delle tenebre, così veniva chiamata, si è liberata del peso della sua bellezza e inizia a ricostruire un rapporto con il figlio. Non sembra neppure un film italiano.

Talented Susanna Nicchiarelli does it again after the cosmonaut and comes out with a movie that survivors of the 1960’s will love as well as youngsters who were able to follow the later years and appreciate the talent and voice of Christa Päffgen, aka Nico.

Warhol’s beautiful muse, singer with the Velvet Underground lives a second life when she begins her solo career. Here we follow Nico’s last tours and the band that accompanied her around Europe in the 1980’s: years in which the priestess of the dark, as she was called, freed herself of the burden of her beauty and began to reconstruct a relationship with her son. It doesn’t look like an Italian movie.

THE INSULT Lui, il palestinese del film che vede una diatriba tra il muratore e un inquilino cristiano del palazzo in chi lavora in Libano, ha vinto il premio come migliore protagonista. Ma tutto il film è da citare, per la bravura con cui una piccola scintilla provoca una miccia che poi diventa ordigno pronto a esplodere tra le mani dei giudici, degli avvocati e della società civile libanese. Un film minimalista per un tema politico sempre molto caldo da quelle parti.

Una metafora perfetta di come siano proprio i piccoli fatti a generare i grandi disastri mondiali.

He, the Palestinian in the film who sees an argument between a brick-layer and a Christian tenant in the building in which he works in Lebanon, won the award as best actor. But the whole film is worthy of mention, for the way in which a little spark lights a flame that becomes an explosive ready to burst in the hands of the Lebanese judges, of the lawyers and the civil society. A minimalist movie for an always hot political subject in that area. A perfect metaphor of how it’s really the little facts that create the big world disasters.

MY GENERATION Come non farsi conquistare dal fascino intramontabile di Michael Caine, voce narrante di questo documentario sui formidabili Sessanta, gli anni in cui Londra diventò la capitale mondiale delle avanguardie in ogni campo, dalla musica alle arti alla moda? Un viaggio nel tempo che incanta e rende tutti nostalgici, riguardando quelle ragazze in minigonna, i capelloni, le marce per la pace, i dischi della beat generation… Immagini che scorrono veloci e fanno venire voglia di ballare e cantare, grazie anche all’ironia e alla leggerezza, tipicamente british, del grande Caine.

How can you not be conquered by the immortal charm of Michael Caine, narrator of this documentary on the formidable Sixties, the years in which London became the world capital of the avant-garde in all fields, from music to the arts to fashion? A trip back in time that enchants and brings out nostalgia, looking once again at those girls in mini-skirts, the long hair, the peace marches, the records played for the beat generation… Images that flow by quickly and make you want to sing and dance, also thanks to the irony and humor, typically British, of the great Caine.

THIS IS CONGO Un docufilm senza filtri narra il ciclo più recente del conflitto nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo.

Sullo sfondo del conflitto legato al gruppo di ribelli M23, quattro congolesi condividono i loro punti di vista sulla difficile terra in cui sono cresciuti e che ha inevitabilmente forgiato le loro esistenze. Un lavoro accurato e non privo di rischi, che il regista Daniel Mc Cabe ha potuto svolgere dopo avere vissuto diversi anni in queste zone difficili e ancora poco o per nulla raggiunte dai media internazionali. Un reportage che insegna tante cose attraverso l’uso intelligente della camera e una sensibilità particolare nel cogliere debolezze e timori di uomini che non hanno esitato a mettere in gioco (e in un caso, perdere) la vita per la difesa della loro terra. In eserciti contrapposti e da posizioni e ragioni (spesso solo in apparenza) opposte.

CUBA AND THE CAMERAMEN

An unfiltered docufilm that narrates the most recent cycle of the conflict in the Congo Democratic Republic. In the background of the conflict linked to the rebel group M23, four Congolese share their points of view on the unforgiving land in which they grew up and which inevitably forged their lives.

An accurate work and not without risks, which director Daniel Mc Cabe was able to complete after having lived several years in these difficult areas and still little or never reached by international media. Reporting that teaches many things through an intelligent use of the camera and a special sensitivity in capturing weaknesses and fears of men who did not hesitate to place their lives at risk (and in one case, lose it) in order to defend their country. In opposing armies and from opposting positions and reasons (often only apparently).

Ha iniziato a filmare Fidel Castro, ma anche storie, situzioni e cubani normali, fin dagli anni Settanta, diventando l’unico videoreporter americano ammesso con simpatia e senza particolari apprensioni perfino sull’aereo presidenziale. Così Jon Alpert ha continuato a tornare sull’isola a distanza ogni volta di 6/7 anni, andando a visitare sempre le stesse persone, per vedere come fosse cambiata la loro vita. Ne è uscito un affresco inedito, in cui Fidel mostra un lato umanissimo e spesso autoironico e disincantato, mentre gli altri protagonisti dimostrano la forza e il carattere di un popolo che, a dispetto di tanti sacrifici, ha saputo mantenere la sua dignità. Un esperimento originale per scoprire una Cuba non stereotipata.

He began to film Fidel Castro, as well as ordinary Cuban stories and situations, in the 1970’s, becoming the only American videoreporter allowed with pleasure and without any special apprehensions even on the presidential aircraft. Thus Jon Alpert returned many times to the island, every 6 or 7 years, always going to see the same people, to see how their lives had changed. The result is an unusual picture, in which Fidel shows a very human side, often ironic and disenchanted, while the other characters show the strength and the character of a populace that, notwithstanding the many sacrifices, kept its dignity. An original experiment to discover a non-stereotypical Cuba.

Vive e lavora a Milano. Co-fondatrice di ch2_eventiculturali, si occupa della curatela, progettazione e della comunicazione di eventi legati alla cultura, con focus sull’arte contemporanea. Propone workshop di letture portfolio utilizzando la tecnica del Photoprojective, ideata da Judy Weiser negli anni ‘70, che riconosce alla fotografia un potenziale proiettivo. Dal 2016 collabora con PeriscopePhotoscouting, piattaforma di consulenza e scouting per giovani artisti ideata da Claudio Composti.

Lives and works in Milan. Co-founder of ch2_eventiculturali, she handles the planning and communications for events linked to culture, with a focus on contemporary art. She organizes workshops on reading portfolios utilizing Photoprojective, created by Judy Weiser in the 1970’s, which recognizes a protective potential in photographs. Since 2016 she collaborates with PeriscopePhotoscouting, consulting and scouting platform for young artists developed by Claudio Composti.

CIRCA 2017” Visionarea Art Space, presso l’Auditorium Conciliazione a Roma, è uno spazio dedicato all’arte contemporanea che propone e promuove progetti di artisti nazionali e internazionali. Nato da un’idea dell’artista Matteo Basilé e dell’imprenditore Francesco Carducci, Visionarea, dal 26 settembre al 13 novembre, ospita “Roma circa 2017”, mostra personale di Noé Sendas, la terza di un ciclo di sei mostre a cura di Claudio Composti, realizzate in collaborazione con mc2gallery di Milano, di cui è direttore artistico e co-fondatore insieme a Vincenzo Maccarone.

Noé Sendas è un’artista belga, classe ‘72, che vive e lavora tra Madrid, Berlino e Lisbona. Ha studiato presso la Scuola d’Arte di Chicago, USA; al Royal College of Arts di Londra, ad Arco e L’Atelier Livre, a Lisbona.

“ROMA, CIRCA 2017” Visionarea Art Space, at the Auditorium Conciliazione in Rome, is a space dedicated to contemporary art that displays and promotes projects by Italian and international artists.

Developed from an idea by artist Matteo Basilé and entrepreneur Francesco Carducci, from September 26 through November 13 Visionarea will display “Roma circa 2017”, a pesonal exhibition by Noé Sendas. This is the third in a cycle of six exhibitions curated by Claudio Composti, realized in collaboration with mc2gallery in Milan, of which he is the artistic director and co-founder together with Vincenzo Maccarone.

Noé Sendas is a Belgian artist, born in 1972, who divides his time between Madrid, Berlin and Lisbon. He studied at the Chicago School of Art; at the Royal College of Arts in London, in Arco and the L’Atelier Livre in Lisbon.

Sendas si esprime attraverso la fotografia e il video ma il suo lavoro affonda le sue radici nel disegno, mezzo per rendere il suo pensiero in forma visibile. L’artista si ispira al cinema, all’arte visiva, alla letteratura e alla musica, fonti da cui raccoglie immagini che rielabora, attribuendogli un significato altro da quello preesistente. Compie una vera e propria ri-costruzione: da qui nascono i suoi raffinati collage concettuali, che contestualizza in cornici appositamente studiate e ambienta sapientemente, perché Sendas è interessato al potenziale del metodo espositivo che in qualche modo definisce l’opera.

Sendas expresses himself through photographs and videos but his work primarily stems from drawings, a means to render his thoughts in a visible manner. The artist is inspired by movies, visual arts, literature and music, all sources from which he gathers images that he reshapes, attributing them with a meaning other than the previous one. He carries out a full reconstruction: from these his elegant conceptual collages are developed, which are contextualized in frames specifically studied and knowlingly placed, because Sendas is interested in the potential of the exhibition method which in some way defines the work.

L’esplorazione della perdita connessa al concetto d’identità sono i motivi centrali della sua ricerca. Il corpo, per lo più femminile, è il protagonista indiscusso delle sue opere. Si tratta di un lavoro per sottrazione, in cui lascia intravedere porzioni di corpo, frammenti, che ha come obiettivo quello di riportare il focus proprio sulle parti cancellate o assenti.

Forse perché la nostra profonda identità ci sfugge ed è irrappresentabile nella sua intera essenza? In questa mostra sono presenti più serie: Crystal Girls, che risale al 2009, più vicino allo spirito cinematografico (Fellini, J.L.Godard) di cui Sendas si nutre. Qui i protagonisti sembrano uscire dai movies o dalle riviste tra gli anni ‘20 e ‘50 ma contaminate nella fisiognomica o nel corpo attraverso le sue impossibili, ma credibili, manipolazioni. Segue poi la serie Peep Girls, nella quale Sendas utilizza immagini di bellissime silhouette di donne, forse ballerine, in pose eleganti e in atti sospesi, coperte nella parte superiore del corpo da figure geometriche che rimandano a buchi di serrature stilizzate, da cui deriva il nome della serie. Donne intraviste senza essere totalmente viste. Ci si ritrova cosi davanti a visioni parziali, che invitano alla curiosità e al voyeurismo, costringendoci ad immaginare le parti celate di quei sinuosi corpi raffinati e mai volgari, di cui si intravedono solo gambe e piedi. In occasione della mostra romana, Sendas presenta opere inedite, ispirate proprio alla capitale. L’artista ipotizza di fare un salto in avanti nel tempo, in un futuro prossimo, più specificatamente nel 2050 e immagina di passeggiare lungo Ponte Milvio curiosando in un mercatino; la sua attenzione cade su una vecchia scatola di cartone, con sopra la scritta “Roma circa 2017”, titolo della mostra stessa, contenente una raccolta di vecchie cartoline ritrovate, provenienti dal Museo Vaticano, dalla Galleria Borghese e dalla prestigiosa EPC Roma, quasi fossero riapparse da un ipotetico sito archeologico del glamour. Immagini ricercate ed eleganti, eco di un tempo perduto, una sovrapposizione di storie e di Storia. Tuttavia, esiste un denominatore comune in tutte le opere di Sendas: l’enigma.

Domina il silenzio, un’assenza che è presenza, che lascia spazio per il mistero. L’artista esplora i meccanismi di percezione dell’osservatore, è interessato alla sua reazione davanti a scene caratterizzate da atti interrotti con uno spiccato gusto per l’impossibile e il paradossale, tipici del teatro dell’assurdo. Quale sarà la visione di chi osserva? Non ci sono storie finite nelle sue opere, esiste il preludio di tante ipotesi, c’è sempre una domanda senza risposta che lascia pensare ad una molteplicità di probabilità. La possibilità è il racconto.

The exploration of the loss connected to the concept of identity are the central motifs behind his works. The body, mainly female, is the indisputed protagonist of his works. The work is by subtraction, in which he lets viewers see parts of the body, fragments, which serve to bring the focus to the missing or absent parts. Perhaps because our deepest identity escapes us and is not representative in its whole essence? Numerous series are displayed in this exhibition: Crystal Girls, created in 2009, closer to the cinematographic spirit (Fellini, J.L.Godard) which Sendas surrounds himself with. Here the protagonists seem to emerge from the movies or the magazines from the 20’s and 50’s but contaminated in the physiognomy or in the body through his impossible, yet credible, manipulations. Then comes the series Peep Girls, in which Sendas uses images of beautiful female silhouettes, perphaps dancers, in elegant poses and in suspended animation, covered in the upper portion of their bodies by geometric figures that remind us of stylized key holes, for which gives the series is named.

Women glimpsed without wholly being seen. We then find ourselves before partial visions, that call towards curiosity and voyeurism, forcing one to imagine the hidden parts of those sinuous elegant yet never vulgar bodies, of which only legs and feet can be glimpsed. For the exhibit in Rome, Sendas presents works that have never been exhibited before, inspired by the Eternal City itself. The artist theorizes about a leap into the near future, in the specific to 2050, and imagines walking along Ponte Milvio and peeking at the stands in a market; his attention is drawn to an old cardboard box, with the words “Roma circa 2017” written on top, the same words as the name of the exhibition, containing a collection of old postcards from the Vatican Museums, from Galleria Borghese and from the prestigious EPC Rome, almost as though that had magically reappeared from a hypothetical glamour archeological site. Elegant and refined images, witness to a time gone by, a superimposition of stories and history. Nonetheless, there is a common denominator in all of Sendas’ works: the enigma.

It dominates the silence, an absence that is a presence, that leaves room for mystery. The artist explores the mechanisms of an observer’s perceptions, he is interested in his reaction in front of scenes marked by acts interrupted with a marked taste for the impossible and the paradoxical, typical of farce. What will the observer’s vision be? There are no finished stories in his works, there is the prelude to many theories, there’s always a question without an answer that leads one to think of a multitude of probabilities. The possibility is the story.
