La competitività Se ne parla in continuazione: se non cresce la competitività d’impresa non crescono gli investimenti e di conseguenza non crescono i consumi.

Il mercato del lusso, che sarebbe più corretto definire mercato dell’eccellenza, ha un ruolo fondamentale in questo processo, poiché è un mercato che subisce minori flessioni di altri.

Le leve competitive vincenti, com’è noto, sono tre: l’efficienza produttiva (attraverso il contenimento dei costi), l’innovazione sistemica (di prodotto e di processo) e l’espansione internazionale delle reti di fornitura e di distribuzione. È di fondamentale importanza, secondo J.D. Blackburn, saper giudicare velocemente ciò che si vende e farlo arrivare nei propri negozi prima dei concorrenti. È la Time-based Competition.

Altrettanto importante, data la crescente complessità ed eterogeneità della domanda, è saper “micronizzare” il mercato, cioè ridurlo a sotto/componenti molto minute per poi ricomporlo secondo un particolare tipo di offerta per essere vincenti nella sfida della multicanalità, cioè la capacità di un brand di progettare, sviluppare e gestire in modo armonizzato le esperienze emozionali dei propri clienti.

Come sempre, per gestire in modo vincente questi processi, serve una specifica cultura e una grande competenza.

Ma gli italiani sono gente in gamba e sapranno farlo.

COMPETITIVENESS It’s always the same: if business competitiveness doesn’t grow then investments don’t grow and consequently consumption doesn’t grow.

The luxury market, which would be more correct to define market of excellence, has a fundamental role in this process, since it is a market that suffers less than others.

As everyone knows, the three winning competitive factors are: production efficiency (through cost containment), systemic innovation (products as well as processes) and the international expansion of supply and distribution networks.

According to J.D. Blackburn, it is fundamentally important to know how to quickly judge what you are selling and get it to your stores before your competitors. This is Timebased Competition.

Equally important, considering the growing complexity and heterogeneity of the demand, is knowing how to “micronize” the market, that is reduce it to very minute sub-components to then recompose it according to a particular type of offer in order to be a winner in the challenge of multi-channels, that is the ability of a brand to harmoniously design, develop and manage the emotional experiences of its clients.

As always, a specific culture and great expertise is needed to handle these processes successfully.

But Italians are smart and they will know how to do it.

IMPEGNO, TALENTO E BELLEZZA Protagonista maschile dello shooting fra moda e cinema di questo numero di Luxury è GIULIO BERRUTI, indiscutibilmente bello ma soprattutto poliedrico ed impegnato, con successi continui in Italia e all’estero. Un percorso impeccabile di studi, sin da bambino ha una straordinaria passione per la recitazione che lo porta a frequentare corsi, stage e focus internazionali con grandi maestri (tra cui, il corso di Anne Strasberg). Dal 2008 è vicepresidente e testimonial di un’associazione culturale no profit per sensibilizzazione del territorio sul tema ambientale, sanitario e sui diritti degli animali. Da sempre appassionato di sport, pratica tutte le discipline sportive tradizionali oltre a motocross, motostunt, masterdiving e guida automobilistica su vetture storiche da turismo. L’esordio nel cinema avviene nel 2005 nel film Melissa P. Dopo alcune fiction tv, nel 2009 è protagonista nel film spagnolo Bon Appetit, che ottiene il Premio Goya e riscuote un ottimo successo internazionale di critica e pubblico. Nel 2010 affianca Andy McDowell, Leighton Meester, Katie Cassidy e Selena Gomez nel lungometraggio americano Montecarlo prodotto da Nicole Kidman. Il 2012 lo vede protagonista di due film per il cinema: 10 regole per far innamorare, al fianco di Vincenzo Salemme, e L’amore è imperfetto. Nel 2014 è protagonista del musical per il cinema Holiday! al fianco della cantante Leona Lewis, ed è nella fiction I Segreti di Borgo Larici. Con Tutte lo vogliono è al cinema nel 2015. Matrimoni e altre follie di Laura Muscardin è ora in onda in tv. Ed ha appena terminato le riprese dell’ottava stagione di Squadra antimafia che andrà in onda in autunno.

Mentre la nostra lei è ROBERTA MATTEI, affascinante romana che sin dall’età di dodici anni incontra il teatro e comincia un lungo percorso di formazione. Studia con importanti maestri italiani e russi, nel 2006 viene ammessa al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia diplomandosi nel 2008, debutta sul palco con Il Vantone. Approda alla televisione lavorando con Luca Manfredi, Gigi Proietti, Riccardo Donna, Jan Michelini, etc. Molte collaborazioni con fotografi, scrittori, pittori, danzatori e soprattutto musicisti. Canta e ama sperimentarsi in diverse forme artistiche, crea spettacoli di carattere sociale e civile e nel 2013 fa la sua prima esperienza di insegnamento presso il carcere di Rebibbia.

Nel 2014 è scelta come co-protagonista per il ruolo di Annarella nel film Veloce come il vento con Stefano Accorsi. Nel 2015 è nel cast di Non essere cattivo di Claudio Caligari e nel 2016 è nel cast del film La Verità sta in cielo di Roberto Faenza. Artista completa ed affascinante, una sofisticata scoperta.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 20 candles for ROCHE BOBOIS in Italy. A special year, to be celebrated. There are many events planned, one just took place called French Art de Vivre, which at the same time involved ten Roche Bobois showrooms in Italy, namely Bologna, Florence, Monza, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Turin and Rome. In the capital toasting together with Daniele Guazzolini, Director, Italy of Roche Bobois, were Matilde Brandi, Janet De Nardis, well-known dancer Samuel Peron and Rosaria Renna, vivacious narrator. An exclusive party, evoking Paris and its art, creativity, excellence, in collaboration with Atout France Italia, the agency for the development of French tourism in Italy, which sustains and promotes French culture.

The ballerina immerged in an enormous cup of feathers captured the attention of the guests for the entire duration of the evening. The gourmet fragrances and tastes also created the perfect liaison between Italy and France, a perfect blending of cultures and styles that aim for excellence. Just as the high fashion furnishings of Roche Bobois incarnate state-of-the-art, quality and innovation.

INNATE STYLE AND CREATIVITY: A WINNING COMBINATION This is the thread in each collection or special project that bears the VILEBREQUIN name, an iconic brand, since the legendary 1970’s it incarnates the philosophy of the Saint Tropez lifestyle.

For this summer the historical brand is on stage in London until September 4, 2016 with a special tribute to 50 years of provocation by the inimitable Rolling Stones, who for the first time open their private archives for the Saatchi Gallery, thus living life to the first international exhibition on the band, with more than 550 objects and memorabilia. A multi-media experience for a full immersion in an ideal tour from the Seventies to now, side by side with Jagger and friends. LUXURY NEWS CINEMA / IL CINEMA DI DOMANI A MAREMETRAGGIO Sono sette le opere prime italiane in concorso quest’anno nella sezione Nuove Impronte di SHORTS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL di Trieste: film ancora inediti o poco visti nelle sale cinematografiche, realizzati da registi italiani al loro esordio nel lungometraggio. E per la prima volta in assoluto nella storia di ShorTS, tra i film che saranno proiettati al Cinema Ariston dal 1 al 9 luglio c’è anche un’anteprima nazionale: I Cormorani, opera prima di Fabio Bobbio che ha scelto Trieste per questo atteso debutto.

Attraverso la sezione “Nuove Impronte”, curata da Beatrice Fiorentino, ShorTS International Film Festival vuole dare risalto a un volto inedito o comunque poco noto della cinematografia italiana e della sua produttività: registi emergenti che dal cortometraggio si sono cimentati per la prima volta nella realizzazione di un lungo, autori indipendenti, sperimentali, audaci o magari già in grado, fin dal loro esordio, di pensare in grande.

There are seven Italian first works in competition this year in the section Nuove Impronte di SHORTS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL di Trieste: movies that have not come out yet or that have been seen in just a few movie theaters, realized by Italian directors as their first fulllength film. And for the very first time in the history of ShorTS, among the movies that will be shown at the Cinema Ariston between July 1 and 9 there’s also an Italian film being seen for the first time: I Cormorani, first work by Fabio Bobbio who selected Trieste for this much-awaited debut.

Through the section “Nuove Impronte”, guided by Beatrice Fiorentino, ShorTS International Film Festival wants to emphasize an unusual or little known aspect of Italian cinematography and its productions: emerging directors who for the first time switch from shorts to full-length, independent, experimental, audacious authors or maybe just already, from their debut, thinking big. A glimpse at what Italian movies have in store for us in the near future.

EATING ON THE BEACH A TAVOLA SULLA SPIAGGIA comes back, on the "noble sands" of Forte dei Marmi who want to revive a tradition in Versilia to prepare lunch at home to be consumed then under the tent to live with family or friends that socializing time. The event, now in its XXIV issue, will take place on 25th -26th of August.

This year the organizing committee directed by Gianni Mercatali proposes the important theme of recovery, recycling in kitchen, the sublime art to prepare good and healthy food without throwing anything away. Upon his arrival in 2015 during Expo Chef Mollica stated: “I am very happy indeed to be the heir of a great teacher such as Chef Sergio Mei and I accept this new challenge certain that the attention given to food by the company will also make itself felt in Italy, during the year in which the whole world will meet in Milan. My goal is to ensure that each client feels at home, because today the choice of a restaurant is an experience that goes beyond that which is served, made of research, care and attention”. A breath of fresh air therefore without forgetting that for Mollica the value of each dish is in the quality of its ingredients, which the more simply they are prepared the more they give off taste; his style is right from the heart, from the rapport he establishes with producers, to those with his team, perhaps the most important “ingredient” of them all.

La crescente attenzione verso i temi ambientali e verso le problematiche correlate al tema della sostenibilità ha un impatto sempre più invasivo sul settore della moda in termini di relazioni di fornitura, di innovazione di processo e, naturalmente, di politiche di branding. Il mondo del fashion genera prodotti che, per loro natura, hanno un ciclo di obsolescenza molto più breve di quello prettamente fisico, rendendo sempre più nevrotiche le dinamiche di consumo e, di conseguenza, l’utilizzo di risorse naturali. C’è da dire, però, che il consumismo non è stato favorito soltanto da fenomeni sociali, ma, soprattutto negli ultimi anni, anche dall’evoluzione dei modelli di business delle aziende che hanno contratto ancor di più il ciclo di vita dei prodotti e ampliato i consumi in volume.

La moda industriale ha fatto ampio ricorso alla delocalizzazione produttiva che ha garantito ampi margini per investire nell’immagine del brand. Questo è stato il processo ad ogni livello della piramide, dal mass market (es.

Zara, H&M) al lusso (es. Armani, Gucci, Valentino). Il consolidamento di un sistema industriale trainato dal fast fashion ha comportato, inevitabilmente, lo sfruttamento di ingenti risorse ambientali e, in alcuni casi, del lavoro nei Paesi a basso costo di manodopera. Inoltre, i recenti scandali, che hanno interessato rinomati brand del settore, rei di aver utilizzato filiere produttive non etiche e non rispettose della tutela dei lavoratori, degli animali e dell’ambiente, hanno contribuito a rendere i consumatori più attenti alla politica di sostenibilità sociale e ambientale adottata dalle aziende del settore fashion. Dunque, a differenza del passato, oggi è il “buon senso” a guidare gli acquisti che diventano uno strumento per esprimere consenso verso quelle aziende guidate dall'etica e preferire le marche rispettose dell'ambiente (63% contro il 58% del 2008, dati Consumers Forum 2014). Anche il mondo digitale dei social media sembra confermare le stesse tendenze del mondo fisico.

The growing attention towards the environment and towards the problems related to the subject of sustainability has an increasingly invasive impact on fashion in terms of supply, innovative processes and, of course, branding policies. The world of fashion generates products which, by their very nature, have an much shorter obsolescence cycle than a merely physical one, making the dynamics of consumerism more neurotic and, consequently, the use of natural resources. It must however be said that consumerism was not facilitated just by social phenomenon but, especially in recent years, also by the evolution of business models that shortened the life cycle of products even more and enlarged the volume of consumptions. The fashion industry has made ample use of production delocalization which has guaranteed ample margins for investing in brand image. This was applied to each level of the pyramid, from mass market (such as Zara, H&M) to luxury (such as Armani, Gucci, Valentino). The consolidation of an industrial system driven by fast fashion has inevitably led to the exploitation of significant environmental resources and, in certain cases, to work in countries with a low cost of labor. Moreover, recent scandals which involved well-known brands, guilty of non-ethical supply chain productions and which did not safeguard laborers, animals and the environment, have contributed to making consumers more attentive to social and environmental sustainability policies adopted by the fashion industry. Therefore, with respect to the past, today it is "good sense" to guide purchases that become an instrument to express consensus towards those companies guided by ethics and to prefer brands that respect the environment (63% rather than 58% in 2008, source Consumers Forum 2014). The digital world of the social media also seems to confirm the same trends of the physical world.

In una recente ricerca promossa dalla IBM su circa 65 milioni di post in lingua italiana inerenti fashion brand e pubblicati sui principali social network è stato dimostrato che gli snippet1 sul tema della sostenibilità costituiscono il 7% del totale e sono strettamente connessi a contenuti inerenti gli acquisti e il fatturato. Questo dato attesta il contributo determinante del tema della “sostenibilità” alla percezione positiva del brand e alla costruzione della brand reputation.

Se nei mercati emergenti valori quali fashion, lusso e made in Italy riescono da soli a rassicurare i consumatori, nei mercati europei, Italia compresa, il binomio sostenibilità e fashion può essere considerato un valore decisivo nell’influenzare la scelta dei prodotti del settore moda.

La presa di coscienza delle crescenti preoccupazioni di sostenibilità ecologica e sociale deve stimolare l’individuazione di nuovi spazi per la definizione non soltanto di nuove proposte di offerta, ma anche in termine di strategie di branding. La struttura a cluster geograficamente localizzati del sistema produttivo italiano sembra avere in sé le potenzialità per costituire una sorta di solidarietà di filiera in cui coinvolgere stakeholder, istituzioni e, naturalmente, consumatori. In tal senso, il green supply chain management è un modello a cui guardare per individuare nuovi percorsi di definizione del vantaggio competitivo, ispirati ai principi del Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle, Remanufactured.

A recent survey promoted by IBM on approximately 65 million posts in the Italian language concerning fashion brands and published on the principal social networks showed that snippets1 on the subject of sustainability constitute 7% of the total and are strictly linked to contents concerning purchases and turnover. This data attests the determining contribution on the subject of “sustainability” to the positive perception of the brand and to the building of brand reputation.

If in emerging markets values such as fashion, luxury and made in Italy succeed by themselves in reassuring consumers, in European markets, including Italy, the binomial sustainability and fashion can be considered a decisive value in influencing the choice of products in the fashion field.

Awareness of the growing ecological and social sustainability considerations must stimulate the identification of new areas for the definition of not just new offers but also in terms of branding strategy. The geographically localized cluster structure of the Italian productive system seems to contain the potential for building a sort of supply chain solidarity in which to involve stakeholders, institutions and, of course, consumers. In that sense, green supply chain management is a model to be taken as an example to identify new paths for defining competitive advantage, inspired by the principles of Reduce, ReUse, Recycle, Re-manufacture.

Among the refined dishes on the menu created especially for the event: Calvisius smoked white sturgeon, chiodini mushrooms and blueberries, the Mini Mac by Vittorio or a sublime ravioli filled with sturgeon and Calvisius caviar with fondue of robiola di Roccaverano DOP. Superb the risotto with Champagne Boizel and Lingotto Calvisius.

And last but surely not least: Amedei chocolate lollipops and fruit. Delightful chocolates. Morsels of the noted masterpieces: Nove, il Blanco de Criollo, il Porcelana.

Qualcuno recitava: “L’eleganza non è farsi notare, ma farsi ricordare”. Credo che in assoluto questa frase rappresenti al meglio il mio rapporto con la moda: amo le cose semplici, portate con sobrietà.

Non amo il lusso nella sua accezione del termine, amo però la ricerca del design e dell’estetica.

L’unico lusso che potrei concedermi è una barca a vela con cui poter girare il mondo e arricchire la mia vita di esperienze ed incontri.

Someone said: “Elegance is not to be noticed, but to be remembered”. I think this idea represents in the best way my relationship with fashion, I love the simple things, worn with subtlety.

I don’t like luxury in the sense of the term, but I love the research of design and aesthetics.

The only luxury that I could allow myself is a sailboat to travel around the world and enrich my life with experiences and encounters.

È stata una bella giornata, non conoscevo né la location né il fotografo e avevo incontrato Roberta solo una volta, eppure tutto ha funzionato alla perfezione. C’è stata fin da subito una bella sintonia tra tutti, abbiamo lavorato seguendo l’istinto, ognuno proponeva qualcosa e credo sia venuto fuori un bel lavoro, anche grazie alle persone che sono dietro le immagini che vedete.

Mi hanno insegnato che il lusso è qualcosa di più profondo di un ornamento estetico o di una bella macchina. Fare il lavoro che ci piace è un lusso, essere amati e amare è un lusso, respirare a fondo e imparare a surfare sulla vita è un lusso. Interpretare una donna di alta classe non mi era ancora capitato ed essere immortalata da Fulvio è stato bellissimo.

Lo staff mi ha messa a mio agio con gentilezza e professionalità. Gli abiti erano splendidi!

Doing the work we love is a luxury, to be loved and to love is a luxury, to breath deeply and learn to surf on life is a luxury. Not allowing a label to declare your status is a luxury. But they also taught how to recognize the quality in objects, fabrics or jewels that are the expression of man's capacity to create something of high quality. Nature and ingenuity can create beautiful things... that do not require a price to expresses their value. Luxury is a game... nothing more.

I had not yet played the role of a high-class woman and to be immortalized by Fulvio was amazing.

The staff made me feel comfortable with kindness and professionalism. The clothes were simply beautiful!

Quando e come è nata l’esigenza di riunirvi in una rete d’imprese?

Nel 2012. Sette aziende, che perlopiù non si conoscevano tra loro, ma animate da una forte volontà di accedere a nuovi mercati, hanno scelto di partecipare alla fiera “Hotel show” di Dubai, col patrocinio della regione Lazio. Visitata da professionisti provenienti da tutta l’area del Medio Oriente e Nord Africa, la manifestazione costituisce un punto di riferimento per il mercato dei prodotti e dei servizi dedicati alle strutture ricettive.

Da subito c’è stato un vivo interesse, da parte dei visitatori, per l’alta gamma dell’offerta esposta. Tuttavia le potenziali controparti davano per scontata la presenza di un singolo interlocutore, che potesse rispondere a richieste inerenti una vasta gamma di prodotti e servizi, proponendo soluzioni in tempi rapidi. Per tutte le aziende era necessario intraprendere un nuovo percorso, che non fosse più quello del piccolo imprenditore che sfida il mondo in solitaria, pur avendo dalla sua l’esperienza e la conoscenza del saper fare. Era necessario fare gruppo per organizzare una strategia, condividendo spese e speranze. Si è scelto di unire alle aziende più rappresentative della manifattura “tradizionale” quali falegnameria, tappezzeria e lavorazione dei marmi, altre aziende operanti nei settori degli allestimenti archigrafici, del branding/digital signage e della progettazione di soluzioni per l’integrazione dei sistemi tecnologici nel campo dell’ICT.

When and how did the need to form a business network take shape?

In 2012. Seven companies, which for the most part didn’t know each other, but spurred by a strong desire to reach new markets,decided to participate in the Dubai “Hotel show”, with the patronage of Regione Lazio.

Visited by professionals from all over the Middle East and North Africa, the event constitutes a reference point for the market of products and services dedicated to lodging structures.

Visitors were immediately very interested in the high range of products exhibited. Nonetheless the potential counterparties took it for granted that a single interlocutor would be present, who could respond to requests concerning a wide range of products and services, suggesting solutions in a brief span of time. A new path needed to be forged for all the companies, which was not that of the small entrepreneur who takes on the world all by himself, albeit with his experience and know-how. They needed to band together to organize a strategy, sharing costs and hopes. It was decided to add other companies operating in the fields of graphical architecture, branding/digital signage and system solutions and ICT to the more “traditional” productions such as carpentry, upholstery and marble working.

Quale è l’idea proposta dal gruppo Made IT? Il gruppo possiede competenze trasversali in tutti i campi in questione, e offre il suo supporto per la ricerca di soluzioni a problemi costruttivi o progettuali, di complessità variabile.

What was the idea suggested by the MadeIT group?

In the contract sector, space becomes even more singular in aspect and at the same time it is poly-functional, multi-media and interactive: it aims more for the quality of the visitor/guest’s experience, from beginning to end, and not solely on the products and services provided therein. The project and communication pursue this objective and MadeIT wants to represent the idea of knowing how to manage a contract from design to execution,participating wherever requested. A sole reality, that realizes contexts in which to spend a complete experience, whether this be dwelling, exhibition, commercial or lodging spaces in general. The group possesses transversal expertise in all the fields in question, and offers its support to find solutions to construction, design problems of varying complexity.

Si punta ad offrire una soluzione “chiavi in mano”, letteralmente. Punto di forza di MadeIT è essere un interlocutore solo di competenze altissime ottimizzando tempi e costi per i clienti.

Nello specifico quale il processo di lavoro, c’è tra voi una figura unica che dialoga con il cliente rappresentando le peculiarità di tutte le identità che ne fanno parte?

Certamente. Una singola persona in grado di coordinare e che sappia comprendere le esigenze del committente. Lo abbiamo imparato dopo ore e ore spese per organizzarci, quando eravamo agli inizi. Le singole aziende devono concentrarsi sul lavoro vero e proprio, perchè la cura dei dettagli fa la differenza fra un prodotto di valore ed uno dozzinale. Inoltre, per il cliente è più facile avere un solo referente. Qualora però si tratti di affiancare il committente nella risoluzione di problemi progettuali o esecutivi, ad attivarsi sono i diretti interessati, singoli o in gruppi.

A nostro avviso il pubblico internazionale è più attento alla qualità e al know how italiano anche per quel che concerne l’interior design, potete confermare?

Se la qualità italiana ha fatto e farà da traino alla nostra economia, grazie all’esportazione, è perchè le aziende italiane hanno puntato sulla loro indubbia creatività arricchita da spunti di innovazione, investendovi quel che potevano, nonostante la crisi. Nei Paesi che hanno reagito positivamente alla pessima congiuntura economica, i professionisti sono sempre alla ricerca di soluzioni progettuali innovative, e di partner capaci di lavorare su materiali sia nuovi che tradizionali, con tecniche all’avanguardia.

Non di rado si tratta di persone giovani e competenti, desiderose di proporre soluzioni originali e raffinate, che strizzano l’occhio alla tecnologia. Riteniamo che “Made in Italy” significhi ancora qualcosa a cui essi possano far riferimento. Per fare un esempio, abbiamo riscontrato a New York e a Londra un grande successo per la nostra parete multimediale e multimateria “Wave screen”.

In the specific, how is the work carried out, is there among you a sole figure who communicates with the client, representing the peculiarities of all the identities in the group?

Certainly. A single person who coordinates and who knows how to understand the client’s needs. We learned that lesson after hours and hours spent on getting ourselves organized, when we first began. The individual companies must concentrate on the actual work, because attention to detail is what makes the difference between a valuable product and one that is not. In addition, it’s easier for clients to have just one contact point. When however the need arises to flank the client in solving design or executive problems, single individuals or groups come into play.

In our opinion the international public is more attentive to Italian quality and know-how also with respect to interior design, can you confirm this?

If Italian quality has been and will be the strength of our economy, thanks to exports, it’s because Italian companies have insisted on their undeniable creativity enriched by touches of innovation,investing what they could, notwithstanding the crisis. In those countries that reacted positively to the economic crisis, professionals are always seeking innovative solutions, as well as partners able to work on both new and traditional materials, with cutting edge technology. Not unusually, they are young and talented, anxious to suggest original and elegant solutions, that wink at technology. We believe that “Made in Italy” still means something that they can refer to. For example, we met with a huge success in New York and London for our multi-media and multi-matter wall known as “Wave screen”.

Con questo prototipo abbiamo voluto dare piena espressione alla nostra capacità di lavorare insieme presentando un prodotto inedito composto da un pannello in plexiglass 2m x 2,5m su cui è stata applicata una speciale pellicola che lo rende nella parte superiore un vero e proprio schermo touch videocomunicativo su cui video proiettare immagini o informazioni destinate per es. al mondo dell’hotellerie, dando all’utente la possibilità di partecipare interattivamente attivando comandi o funzioni semplicemente sfiorando la superficie; la parte inferiore invece è stata impreziosita da particolari pannelli dalle forme ondulate, tagliati molto sottili, realizzati in marmo, legno e plexiglass. Ciliegina sulla torta, l’effetto sonoro che la parete stessa diffonde, diventando essa stessa diffusore acustico grazie all’utilizzo di speciali eccitatori applicati sulla sua superficie in grado di farla vibrare e quindi suonare. Le onde fungono anche da vani per bottiglie nel caso si voglia utlizzare la parete come vineria in un negozio. In poche parole, un concept di piattaforma di comunicazione o vendita, completamente personalizzabile sia nell’aspetto che nei contenuti multimediali, pensata per essere interattiva, al bisogno.

Il ‘lusso’ è un concetto apparentemente semplice ma complesso da identificare. Cosa vuol dire per MadeIT lusso?

Per noi lusso è da intendersi in termini di eccellenza del prodotto e del servizio che offriamo, non di certo come sinonimo di un qualcosa di riservato ad una piccola e ricca elite. Il tutto edulcorato dalla facilità di utilizzo di ogni nostra realizzazione, quindi lusso si ma alla portata di tutti. È il piacere di sorprendere e sorprendersi.

With this prototype we wanted to fully express our ability to work together, presenting an unusual product composed of a Plexiglas panel 2m x 2.5m spread with a special film that in the upper part makes it a real video communication screen to project images or information, for example for use in hotels, providing users the chance to interactively participate, activating commands or functions simply by lightly touching the surface; the lower part instead is adorned with special wavy panels, cut very thin, realized in marble, woodand Plexiglas.

To top it off, the sound effect which emanates from the wall itself, become a sort of diffusor thanks to the use of special buttons applied to the surface that make it vibrate. The“waves” act as spaces for bottles should the client wish to use the wall as a wine rack in a store. In short, a concept of communication or sales platform, personalized, in aspect as well as multi-media contents, conceived to be interactive, upon need.

‘Luxury’ is an apparently simple concept but instead is difficult to identify. What does luxury mean for MadeIT? We believe luxury is to be intended in terms of excellence of the product and the service that we offer, certainly nota s a synonym of something reserved for a small and rich elite group. Everything sweetened by the ease of use of each realization, consequently yes luxury but available to all.

Ma l’inaspettata novità che conferma la stella Michelin a la Magnolia è arrivata con l’avvento ai fornelli di Cristoforo Trapani. Un grande sorriso da ‘buono’, questo giovane e talentuoso chef campano vanta già un curriculum di tutto rispetto sia per aver guidato in precedenza le cucine di due importanti ristoranti sulla costa campana, sia per aver lavorato con una nutrita schiera di grandi chef stellati e pluristellati: da Heinz Beck a Gennaro Cannavacciuolo, da Moreno Cedroni a Davide Scabin, fino a Mauro Colagreco e Giuseppe Aversa.

Questo l’ennesimo “colpo” di Salvatore Madonna, CEO del Gruppo Soft Living Places che con le sue intuizioni vincenti da vero talent scout ha scovato questa grande promessa della cucina che ha portato al Forte un tocco della migliore Campania con i suoi profumi, la sua solarità e tradizioni popolari. “Una scelta - rivela lo stesso Salvatore Madonna - della quale siamo particolarmente soddisfatti e più che mai convinti dopo i successi e gli apprezzamenti della scorsa stagione. Fra le proposte innovative di questo speciale incontro fra tradizioni partenopee e gourmet toscano c’è il ghiotto percorso “a tutta pasta”: un menu degustazione in cinque assaggi a sorpresa dall’antipasto al dolce, con pasta fresca e pasta secca. Nella Grande Carte sono entrati nuovi piatti come i tortelli ripieni di moscardini alla luciana con un infuso di alghe di mare e di limone oppure una stupefacente anguilla, sposata a sapori come la rapa rossa e la birra.

But the unexpected novelty that confirms the Michelin star at La Magnolia came with the arrival of Cristoforo Trapani. A wide smile on his face, this young and talented chef from Campania already boasts quite a résumé, both for previously heading up the kitchens of two important restaurants along the Campania coastline as well as for having worked with numerous great star chefs: from Heinz Beck to Gennaro Cannavacciuolo, from Moreno Cedroni to Davide Scabin, to Mauro Colagreco and Giuseppe Aversa.

Certainly for the personality and know-how of Cristoforo Trapani, but also because with this choice we wanted to confirm the idea of making our restaurants, and in particular La Magnolia, not just a showcase but rather a ‘gym’ and, why not, even a launching pad for young chefs, in a path to follow thanks to the experience that they mature with the expression of strong potential”.

Amongst the innovative proposals in this special meeting between Neapolitan traditions and Tuscan gourmet dishes is the delicious “all pasta” selection: a tasting menu in five surprise samplings from appetizer to dessert, with fresh pasta and regular pasta. There are many new dishes in the Grande Carte such as tortelli stuffed with moscardini alla luciana with sea algae and lemon or a surprising eel, served with flavors such as red beet and beer.

Altri percorsi esaltanti sono il “vegetariano” con l’amato carciofo, oppure il “pescando con lo chef ”: otto assaggi a mano libera.

Tra i piatti più richiesti, che ha tuttora molti consensi - ci conferma lo chef - c’è lo spaghettone al pomodoro giallo con burrata. Amata è la “mesca Francesca” con vongole, arselle e crema di fagioli schiaccioni. E poi l’intrigante “cacciucco” in un gioco di separazioni cotto-crudo /sopra-sotto. Un paradiso e inferno contrapposti da un lungo crostino di pane tostato che separa due mondi, il paradiso è caldo e l’inferno sottostante è freddo.

Tutto è una sinestesia, un incontro di opposti colorati, vere opere d’arte per i sensi: dai gamberi rossi di Mazara, sedano rapa e mela verde fino alla triglia alla brace con limone verde, cime di rapa e chips di lattuga di mare. E dulcis in fundo tra i desserts la creatività dello Chef ci stupisce per la sua semplice e geniale rivisitazione: una pasta al pomodoro, croccante e dolce al profumo di basilico.

“Continua - conclude lo chef Trapani - la mia idea di unire prodotti e ingredienti di due terre ricche e generose come la Campania, dove sono nato, e la Toscana che mi ospita e mi riempie di gioia ed entusiasmo. I nostri ospiti troveranno nel piatto quest’anno un pizzico di fantasia in più.

Che è tecnica, ma è anche concretezza di gusti e sapori. Questo è il mio lusso.”

Other tasty dishes can be found in the “vegetarian menu” with the beloved artichoke, or the “fishing with the chef ” menu: eight samples freely chosen.

Among the most ordered dishes, which even today is quite popular - confirms the chef - is spaghettone with yellow tomatoes and burrata. Much appreciated is the “mesca Francesca” with clams, shell fish and cream of beans. And let’s not forget the famous “cacciucco” in a game of separations: cooked-raw / under-over. Paradise and inferno counterpointed by toasted bread that separates two worlds, paradise is warm and the underlying inferno is cold.

It’s a symphony, a meeting of colored opposites, true masterpieces for the senses: from the red Mazara shrimp, turnips and green apple to the grilled red mullet with green lemon, broccoli and sea lettuce chips. And last but not least dessert: the creativity of the Chef surprises us for its simplicity and geniality: pasta with tomatoes, crunchy and sweet with the fragrance of basil.

Conosciuta in tutto il mondo grazie ai suoi prodotti - Antica Formula, Punt e Mes, Carpano Classico, Bianco e Dry - Carpano ha saputo continuare a crescere e innovarsi nel tempo. Il prestigioso anniversario è stato festeggiato a Torino nella sede di Eataly e del Museo Carpano, dalpresidente e ad di Fratelli Branca Distillerie, Niccolò Branca. A story of success for an Italian excellence that invented vermouth, the prestigious aromatic wine. Known all over the world thanks to its products - Antica Formula, Punt e Mes, Carpano Classico, Bianco and Dry - Carpano has continued to grow and make innovations. The prestigious anniversary was celebrated in Turin at the Eataly headquarters and the Carpano Museum, by the President and CEO of Fratelli Branca Distillerie, Niccolò Branca.

The lengthy and significant Carpano tradition, based on craftsmanship and innovation, began more than two centuries ago in Turin, when Antonio Benedetto Carpano, in his wine bar in front of the Royal Palace, invented the formula that originated the category of vermouths, mixing herbs and spices with selected Italian wines. Sure of the quality, Carpano sent a case to King Vittorio Amedeo III: thus began the success story of vermouth, which soon became the aperitif par excellence and of choice for Turin.

Amongst the fans of Carpano are statesmen such as Camillo Benso di Cavour, Massimo d’Azeglio, Urbano Rattazzi and intellectuals such as Giuseppe Verdi and Arrigo Boito. Attention to tradition and the constant search for innovation led Carpano in the 1900s to create avant garde advertising campaigns, which brought the brand to international fame and prestige: campaigns by famous artists such as Marcello Dudovich and Achille LucianoMauzan are still famous and as well as more recently by Armando Testa. In the beginning Carpano was served straight, in the “gotto”, a historical glass depicted in paintings from the 1700s, and still today many prefer it straight or with ice, but most of all it is an indispensable ingredient in the best cocktails. Fratelli Branca Distillerie, the Milanese company that became famous throughout the world thanks to the famous Fernet-Branca, has progressively acquired 100% of Carpano, faithful to excellence and to the motto “Novare Serbando”: always create the road to innovation, without losing sight of tradition. And thus, Carpano vermouth is celebrated (1 million bottles sold in 60 countries each year) with the new graphics, elegant and refined, a blend of the past and the present, which highlights the heraldic medals on the label to commemorate the fact that Carpano was the preferred vermouth of the royal family in Turin. And with the restyling of the site on which pictures and elegant settings remind us of the exclusive contexts in which the product is enjoyed.

Proprio accanto Eatalyobbligatoria la visita al Museo Carpano, sede del primo sito industriale, dove ripercorrere i momenti della produzione del vermouth attraverso l’esposizione di numerosi oggetti conservati nello stabilimento e testimonianze legate alla sua diffusione e consumo dall’Ottocento a oggi. E dove non possono mancare i barattoli di vetro con le esotiche spezie, piante fiori e radici (tra cui china e assenzio maggiore) che ne hanno ispirato la ricetta, tuttora gelosamente segreta.

COCKTAIL DELL’ESTATE Ingredienti 3 cl. di Antica Formula 3 cl. di Bitter Acqua Tonica o Seltz 1 Scorza di limone Una fetta d'arancia Ghiaccio Preparazione Riempire di ghiaccio un ampio tumbler basso. Versare quindi 3 cl. di Bitter e 3 cl. di Antica Formula e colmare con Soda Water o Seltz. Mescolare delicatamente, guarnendo con una scorza limone ed una fetta d'arancia.

SUMMER COCKTAILS Ingredients 3 cl. Antica Formula 3 cl. Bitter Tonic water or Seltzer 1 lemon rind One slice of orange Ice Procedure Fill a broad low tumbler with ice.

Then pour in 3 cl. of Bitter and 3 cl. of Antica Formula and fill with soda water or seltzer. Stir delicately, garnishing with lemon rind and a slice of orange.

Make sure you book ahead for a table, between noon and 5 pm, in the superb dining room, dated 1865, renovated in perfect original Luigi XVI, in which the great British writer used to sip his afternoon tea. One of the preferred spots for Virginia Woolf, Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Winston Churchill and George Bernard Shaw. The icing on the cake (as witnessed by the large portrait found in the hall of the Hotel Cafè Royal): it was right here that David Bowie said farewell to Ziggy Stardust, his alter ego, in 1973.

You absolutely must try the assortment of classic sandwiches and pastries, the cakes and the delicious tidbits accompanied by the best teas, and, for those who so desire, champagne. Last but certainly not least, at tea time you must try the scones, soft and round, with jam and butter.

Ideato da Sarah Barber, prima pastry chef donna dell’attiguo hotel Café Royal nella sua storia centenaria, già assistente di Heston Bluementhal, uno dei cuochi britannici più famosi. 3 i menu degustazione, ciascuno abbinato a vini diversi. Il più ambizioso? Un omaggio ad Alice nel paese delle meraviglie, conpiatti come La Regina di Cuori: lamponi, champagne e rose; La Via Lattea: formaggio di capra, miele selvatico, barbabietola; Eat me, Drink me: cocktail a base di cioccolato e arachidi. Semplicemente sublimi.

Chi invece preferisce un gin and tonic perfetto, deve solo sedersi a uno degli sgabelli del “Green bar, botanical & tonics” del Cafè Royal (sempre in Regent Street), dove ordinarne agli esperti barman il proprio, scelto tra 18 gin e 17 acque toniche.

Molto richiesto anche il rito dell’assenzio, amato dai bohémien che frequentavano il Café Royal, e oggi riscoperto dai londinesi chic. Per gli ospiti delle prestigiose suite dell’hotel, al primo piano c’è il Club riservato agli incontri con artisti, intellettuali, creativi e ad iniziative culturali che s’ispirano alla migliore tradizione di questo storico edificio.

For those instead who prefer a perfect gin and tonic, all you need do is sit yourself down on one of the stools at the “Green bar, botanical & tonics” of the Cafè Royal (we’re still in Regent Street), to order your own from the expert bartenders, choosing from 18 types of gin and 17 tonic waters. Absinthe is also much requested, a favorite with the bohemians who frequented the Café Royal, and today preferred by chic Londoners. For guests in the prestigious suites in the hotel there is an exclusive Club for meetings with artists, intellectuals, as well as cultural events that take their inspiration from the best traditions of this historical building.
