La parola che ci manca: equilibrio Appena rientrato nella mia città natale, dopo lo sfollamento imposto dalla seconda guerra mondiale, negli ultimi tre anni delle scuole elementari ebbi la fortuna di avere come insegnante un reduce dalla guerra del 1518, grande invalido, con mani di legno al posto delle sue, falciate da una bomba sul Carso. Il maestro Anzola era davvero un Maestro, colto, gentile, che creò di quel gruppo di sbarbatelli un insieme che si amava e che cantava in coro “Va pensiero” senza neppure stonare troppo. Pensavo che, guidato culturalmente da una vittima della Grande Guerra, passato indenne dall’occupazione nazista della seconda guerra, io sarei stato esentato dal vivere altri conflitti. Sbagliavo.

L’uomo è troppo imperfetto per riuscire a vivere in pace.

Abbiamo imparato che sono sempre più frequenti i “momenti storici” di cui ci ricordiamo cosa stavamo facendo quando questi fatti accadevano nel mondo: tutti sappiamo dove eravamo quando venne ucciso Kennedy, quando vennero abbattute le Torri Gemelle, quando ammazzarono gli umoristi di Charlie Hebdo, quando hanno abbattuto a fucilate i ragazzi del Bataclan di Parigi.

Cosa sta accadendo al mondo? Perché dobbiamo ricordare solo stragi, sgozzamenti, bombe e attentati?

Non possiamo accettare che i modelli positivi e giusti siano abbattuti dalle follie d’invasati ispirati da un odio che scambiano per un dio.

Ci manca l’equilibrio. Stare in equilibrio non vuol dire stare immobili: lo sa il funambolo che percorre il filo tenendo in mano una lunga asta che ondeggia di qua e di là. Lo abbiamo capito anche noi quando abbiamo imparato ad andare in bicicletta. Equilibrio significa anche ondeggiare, ma non troppo, per non perdere il baricentro.

Due citazioni per aiutarci in questo momento squilibrato: la prima è di Henry Miller. “Ho scoperto presto che non si può cambiare il mondo. Il meglio che si possa fare è imparare a convivere in equilibrio con esso”. La seconda è di Haruki Murakami: “L’equilibrio in sé è il bene”.

Basterebbe che ognuno cercasse di spiegare cosa sta accadendo al mondo a un bambino di cinque anni.

Credo che saprebbe trovare le parole giuste. Ma se non trovasse le parole, perché già tante ne sono state spese, basterebbe che gli facesse una carezza e un sorriso.

THE MISSING WORD: EQUILIBRIUM As soon as I returned to my home city, after the evacuation imposed by the Second World War, during the last three years of elementary school I was lucky to have a veteran of the First World War as a teacher, an invalid with wooden hands in place of his own, destroyed by a bomb on the Karst Plateau. Master Anzola truly was a master, cultured, kind, who molded those whippersnappers into a group that loved each other and who belted out “Va pensiero” without too many off-key notes. I thought that, guided culturally by a victim of the Great War, having escaped without consequences from the Nazi occupation of the Second World War, I would be exempted from living through other conflicts. I was mistaken.

Man is too imperfect to be able to live in peace.

We’ve learned that the “historical moments” of which we remember what we were doing when these events took place in the world are all too frequent: we all know where we were when Kennedy was killed, when the Twin Towers were attacked, when the Charlie Hebdo humorists were killed, when they machine-gunned the youths at the Bataclan in Paris.

What is happening to the world? Why do we only recall massacres, slaughters, bombs and attacks?

We cannot accept that positive and just models are shot down by hordes of fanatics inspired by a hate they’ve mistaken for a god.

Equilibrium is missing. Being in equilibrium doesn’t mean staying still: a tightrope walker is able to cross the rope by holding a long pole that flexes here and there. We also understood that when we learned how to ride a bicycle. Equilibrium also means to sway, but not too much, to not lose the center of gravity.

Two quotes can help us in this unbalanced time: the first is by Henry Miller. “I soon discovered that the world can’t be changed. The best that can be done is to learn how to live in equilibrium with it”. The second is by Haruki Murakami: “Equilibrium in itself is good”.

All it takes is that each person try to explain what is happening to the world to a five-year old child. I think they would know how to find the right words. But if they don’t find the words, because so many have already been spoken, a caress and a smile for that child would be enough.

IT’S JUST SO EXCITING Il nuovo servizio fotografico di Luxury Files è una sorpresa sofisticata. Protagonisti Carolina Crescentini ed Alessandro Roja che, con i loro look so cool, ricordano due giovanissimi Mick Jagger e Jerry Hall. Un’originale cornice, il Porto Romano Yacht Club Tevere, un’esclusiva ed elegante struttura immersa nel verde, ma praticamente sul mare.

Dopo essersi diplomata al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia nel 2006, Carolina Crescentini inizia la sua carriera da attrice con piccoli ruoli in teatro, cinema e televisione, tra cui numerosi cortometraggi. Nel 2007 debutta sul grande schermo come protagonista di Notte prima degli esami - Oggi di Brizzi accanto a Nicolas Vaporidis, con il quale, nello stesso anno, recita anche in Cemento armato, opera prima di Martani. Inoltre appare sul canale Fox di Sky nella sit-com Boris, diretta da Vendruscolo.

Sempre nel 2007 partecipa al progetto teatrale Dignità Autonome di Prostituzione, nato da un’idea del regista Melchionna e di Elisabetta Cianchini, che prosegue anche l’anno seguente. Ritorna sul grande schermo con i film Parlami d’amore, tratto dall’omonimo romanzo di Carla Evangelista e Silvio Muccino e I demoni di San Pietroburgo, regia di Montaldo. Nel 2009 ritorna nelle sale cinematografiche con tre film: Due partite di Monteleone, Generazione 1000 euro di Venier e Oggi sposi di Lucini. Nel 2009 riceve il premio Giuseppe De Santis per essere stata la migliore attrice emergente dell’anno. Il 2011 la vede impegnata nelle riprese di Ti amo troppo per dirtelo di Ponti. Nel gennaio 2016 la vedremo recitare nel nuovo film della Morante Assolo.

Diplomato presso la prestigiosa Scuola Nazionale di Cinema-Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Alessandro Roja è noto al pubblico per la sua magnifca interpretazione del Dandi nella serie Romanzo Criminale di Sollima.

Una carriera all’insegna del trasformismo e versatilità la sua, Alessandro con grande naturalezza passa dalla commedia a film più impegnati. Lo abbiamo visto nel film corale Diaz - don’t clean up this blood e dar prova della sua poliedricità nei film da protagonista I più grandi di tutti di Virzì in cui interpreta un batterista e Song’e Napule dei Manetti Bros. Per la tv lo ricordiamo nel film L’olimpiade Nascosta e per il ruolo di Gigi Meroni nel film La farfalla granata. Per il teatro ha portato in tournée in tutta Italia, con splendidi risultati, il monologo Misterman di Enda Walsh per la regia di Ricci. A marzo 2015 lo abbiamo visto nella serie Sky 1992 per la regia di Gagliardi e presto sarà al cinema tra i protagonisti di Solo per il weekend di Director Kobayashi. Attualmente Alessandro è su RaiUno con la serie È arrivata la felicità per la regia di Milani.

Protagonists are Carolina Crescentini and Alessandro Roja who, with their so cool look, call to mind two very young Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. An original setting, the Porto Romano Yacht Club Tevere, an exclusive and elegant structure surrounded by greenery but practically on the seaside.

After earning her diploma from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 2006, Carolina Crescentini began her acting career in small roles in theater, movies and TV, including numerous shorts.

In 2007 her debut in the movies as leading actress in Notte prima degli esami - Oggi by Brizzi alongside Nicolas Vaporidis, with whom, that same year, she acted in Cemento armato, with Martani debuting as director. In addition, she appeared on Sky Channel Fox in the sit-com Boris, directed by Vendruscolo. Still in 2007, she participated in the theater project Dignità Autonome di Prostituzione, taken from an idea by director Melchionna and Elisabetta Cianchini, which was repeated the following year too. She returned to movies with Parlami d’amore, taken from the book by the same name by Carla Evangelista and Silvio Muccino and I demoni di San Pietroburgo, directed by Montaldo. La degustazione tecnica è stata guidata da Andrea Cecchi insieme ad Alessandro Tomberli, restaurant manager e sommelier di Enoteca Pinchiorri. La cena invece è stata curata da Valeria Piccini nota chef toscana con il suo ristorante Da Caino a Montemerano in Maremma (2 stelle Michelin) e adesso, da due anni, anche a Firenze dove firma il menu del ristorante Winter Garden del St. Regis (1 stella Michelin). E la Maremma per Cecchi è importante quanto il Chianti Classico perché nella loro tenuta Val delle Rose nasce una parte importante di Coevo. Dalle vigne vengono infatti scelte le uve migliori di Merlot e Petit Verdot, le varietà che insieme al Sangiovese e al Cabernet Sauvignon compongono questo vino la cui filosofia è chiara: il massimo della qualità per ogni annata, tenendo conto che il gusto è un elemento dinamico che si evolve e varia nel tempo così che l’uvaggio varia a seconda della vendemmia mantenendo la base che lega la famiglia Cecchi al proprio territorio, il Sangiovese.

For Cecchi, the wine, born six years ago, continues to represent the synthesis of a very profound and important path in the history of the family and the business. Andrea and Cesare, the fourth generation to lead the hundred-year old wine cellar, were strongly behind this wine to signal a turning point in their wine-making experience. This is why they wanted to create a new significant occasion to present to the press the five vintages produced:2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011.

They thus brought to Milan a touch of Tuscan culture for good eating and drinking. The technical tasting was led by Andrea Cecchi together with Alessandro Tomberli, restaurant manager and sommelier for Enoteca Pinchiorri. Dinner instead was supervised by Valeria Piccini, well-known Tuscan chef with her restaurant Da Caino in Montemerano in Maremma (2 Michelin stars) and now, for the past two years, also in Florence where she prepares the menu for the St. Regis Winter Garden restaurant (1 Michelin star). And the Maremma area for Cecchi is as important as the Chianti Classico since an important part of the Coevo comes from their Val delle Rose property. The best Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes are selected from these vines, the varieties that together with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon comprise this wine, whose philosophy is quite clear: the highest quality for each vintage year, bearing in mind that taste is a dynamic element that evolves and modifies over time so that the grapes vary according to the harvest, maintaining the base that links the Cecchi family to its lands, the Sangiovese.

The Russian Federation Ambassador to Italy Sergey Razov visiting Calvisius facilities

During the autumn, Calvisius renewed its partnership with Singapore Airlines until 2018 to enrich the gourmet choices in First Class and at the same time launched the new Collection 2016, a vertical of variegated and complete caviar which as always complies with the criteria for excellence: quality, traceability and sustainability.

In conclusion, the Russian Federation Ambassador to Italy Sergey Razov recently visited the Calvisano facilities, which today represent the largest existing reserve of sturgeons.

Razov and his wife visited the production facilities and watched the caviar being extracted and the subsequent malossol salting (low salt content) typical of Calvisius Caviar. Ambassador Razov expressed the desire to visit the important center in Lombardy after having personally tasted the caviar from Brescia, immediately acknowledging its powerful taste and elegant qualities, which have always been the result of an expert mixture of craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technologies. Today Calvisius Caviar is the leading Italian caviar and represents more than 20% of the world fish breeding production, with over 25 tons of sturgeon eggs produced, of which a fair amount, since 2013, is also exported to the Russian Federation

A ottobre, il caviale italiano è volato in America, a New York e Chicago con Identità Golose, in compagnia di chef come Heinz Beck e Massimo Bottura, grandi estimatori di un prodotto che sul mercato non ha eguali. Sempre in autunno, Calvisius ha rinnovato la sua partnership fino al 2018 con Singapore Airlines per arricchire l’offerta gourmet della First Class e contestualmente ha lanciato la nuova Collection 2016, una verticale di caviali variegata e completa che come sempre rispetta i criteri di eccellenza, qualità, tracciabilità e sostenibilità.

Infine, si è svolta da poco la visita dell'Ambasciatore della Federazione Russa in Italia Sergey Razov agli stabilimenti di Calvisano che rappresentano oggi la più grande riserva di storioni esistente. Razov e la moglie hanno visitato il reparto produttivo assistendo all’estrazione del caviale e alla successiva salatura malossol (con basso contenuto di sale) tipica del Caviale Calvisius. L’Ambasciatore Razov ha espresso il desiderio di visitare l’importante polo lombardo dopo aver degustato in prima persona il caviale bresciano, riconoscendone da subito le potenti qualità di gusto ed eleganza, fin da sempre frutto di un sapiente mix tra tecnologie all’avanguardia e lavorazione artigianale. Oggi Calvisius Caviar è il caviale italiano per eccellenza e rappresenta oltre il 20% della produzione mondiale del caviale d’allevamento, con oltre 25 tonnellate annue di uova di storione prodotte, di cui buona parte è, dal 2013, esportata anche nella Federazione Russa.

Così dopo i primi successi fu notato e gli fu proposto di par parte della sit com Il Principe di Bel Air, dove sostanzialmente doveva interpretare se stesso, un ragazzo di strada di Filadelfia, trapiantato a Bel Air. Fu un successo incredibile, una delle serie TV più amate negli States e poi anche all’estero, in onda per anni.

For me luxury isn’t just in the appearance, in the choice of what makes us feel good or look better and more confident of ourselves, but also the possibility of starting over when we feel the need, catching a flight at the last minute after having touched a map with a finger.

The shooting day was a wonderful winter’s day, amidst fabulous clothes, heart-stopping high heels, jewelry to die for and good conversation with friends, with music that rocked us and the crew that coddled us.

Il mio rapporto con la moda è soprattutto lavorativo, caratterizzato cioè dalle collaborazioni dovute alle continue contaminazioni tra il mondo del cinema e quello della moda, ma mi reputo un attento osservatore.

Il lusso lo concepisco come eccellenza, non credo in tutto il lusso che ci viene proposto nella versione “sfarzo” e credo che spesso ci sia un equivoco tra il lusso ed il pacchiano.

KATE, ULTIMA (VERA) DIVA Che fosse tra le attrici dal più alto tasso di Qi e di bellezza messi insieme, era indiscusso. Ma dopo averla vista, al Torino Film Festival, nell’ultima interpretazione, quella della ragazza che, in The dressmaker, il diavolo è tornato, crea abiti meravigliosi e se ne serve per vendicarsi dei suoi ottusi e ipocriti compaesani, Kate Winslet vince a man bassa anche la palma per lo charme, la classe, il fascino. Inconfondibile, meravigliosa, unica, porta gli spettatori a fare il tifo per lei a prescindere. Figurarsi se nel corso del film si scopre che di ragione ne ha da vendere. Non sveleremo di più: sappiate solo che gli stratosferici abiti creati da Tilly (e dalla strepitosa Judy Davis, nel ruolo della madre fuori dagli schemi), fanno venire voglia di mettere la moviola e tornare al 1957, anno in cui è ambientato il film (ispirato dal libro di Rosalie Ham). E se non volete attendere l’uscita in primavera, le anteprime a Parigi sono particolarmente indicate per calarsi nell’atmosfera del film.

KATE, THE LAST (REAL) STAR That she was among the most intelligent and beautiful actresses was indisputable. But after having seen her, at the Torino Film Festival, in her latest role, that of the woman who, in The dressmaker, the devil is back, creates wonderful clothes and uses them to take revenge on her obtuse and hypocritical townsfolk, Kate Winslet wins hands down as well for her charm, class and allure. Unmistakable, marvelous, unique, she brings the audience over to her side no matter what. Just imagine if during the course of the movie it comes to light that she is undoubtedly right. We won’t give away more details: suffice it to say that the over-the-top clothes created by Tilly (and by the fantastic Judy Davis, in the role of the outside-the-box mother), make you want to stop time and go back to 1957, the year in which the movie is set (inspired by the book by Rosalie Ham). And if you don’t want to wait for it to come out next spring, the premier showings in Paris are especially indicated to get into the mood of the film.

La massima cura dell’imbarcazione è garantita da un cantiere d’assistenza recentemente rinnovato ma che affonda le proprie radici in un passato laborioso e di successo con le sue quasi 40 candeline: travel lift fino a 70 tonnellate, hangar dedicato per le verniciature, parcheggio a terra al coperto, carpenteria, motoristica, assistenza elettrica, strumentistica permettono interventi e risoluzioni di problematiche tout court.

Ma il fiore all’occhiello che eleva per bellezza questo luogo rispetto al contesto italiano e senza azzardo anche alle più importanti marine internazionali, è lo yacht club, un’oasi rigenerante ad uso esclusivo degli armatori, 4000mq di parco popolati di palme, ulivi e oleandri, una grande piscina esagonale, un caratteristico e stuzzicante chiosco bar, spaziosi spogliatoi uomini e donne, un’elegante sala soci.

The basin can harbor vessels up to 35mt, while the external pier is used to dock the larger yachts; the structure provides the highest service standards qualifying itself as a marina resort, which means that it can apply the VAT tax rate of 10% for transiting vessels and seasonal docking.

Each docking point has water, 220v and 380v electricity, parking, free-Wi-Fi, docking assistance, closed circuit video surveillance and 24-hour watchman service.

The utmost care for each vessel is guaranteed by the renovated dry dock services but the roots go back to a successful and hard-working past with its nearly 40 candles on the cake: travel lift up to 70 tons, dedicated hangar for paint jobs, covered land parking, carpentry, motor and electrical assistance, specialized instruments that are used to resolve any problems that may arise.

Forse non tutti sanno che Lisbona e le sue atmosfere speciali sono state rese immortali da pagine e pagine di scrittori che la amarono, quali Fernando Pessoa o Antonio Tabucchi e José Saramago. Molte le pellicole che hanno tratto ispirazione da tali pagine e dalla magia di questa città. Marcello Mastroianni, Jeremy Irons, Winona Ryder, John Malkovich, Sean Connery. Solo alcuni dei nomi blasonati che hanno girato in questa terra carismatica. Forse la pellicola più famosa è Lisbon Story di Wim Wenders, del '94, con la meravigliosa colonna sonora dei Madredeus, altro simbolo emblematico del Portogallo.

Dunque letteratura e cinema diventano delle esclusive guide per apprezzare la suggestiva Lisboa. Nel centro della città si trovano 3 dei 5 hotel del gruppo, ciascuno caratterizzato da un’attenta opera di ristrutturazione e conservazione.

L’Hotel Heritage Av. Liberdade, con la sua facciata settecentesca, la porta in legno, le guarnizioni originali e gli azulejos, ha visto per esempio l’intervento di design contemporaneo di Miguel Câncio Martins che ha saputo però mantenere minuziosamente il disegno architettonico esterno.

Opera di Cassiano Branco è il progetto sull’Hotel Britania, dove gli appassionati degli anni ‘40 potranno rivivere quell’epoca in ampie camere dall’originale pavimento in sughero.

Poi, dal 1954 gestito sempre dalla stessa famiglia, c’è l’Hotel Lisboa Plaza, nato su progetto di Lucìnio Cruz e riqualificato dall’Atelier Graça Viterbo che ha lasciato intatta la sensazione di trovarsi in una antica casa signorile di Lisbona.

Allo stesso modo l’Hotel As Janelas Verdes (le finestre verdi) è un vero e proprio scenario di un romanzo: un hotel in riva al fiume Tago installato in un palazzetto del XVIII secolo, a due passi dal Museo Nazionale di Arte Antica. Qui soggiornò lo scrittore Eça de Queirós, quando scrisse il suo libro Os Majas.

E non a caso As Janelas Verdes è dotato di un’affascinante biblioteca con una terrazza che affaccia sul fiume, luogo ideale per leggere alcune delle pagine più belle proprio dove il romanzo è nato.

Of 5 hotels of the group, three are located in the center. are all located in the center of the city, each distinguished by attentive renovation and conservation.

The Hotel Heritage Av. Liberdade, with its façade from the 1700’s, the wood doors, the original decorations and the azulejos, was renovated with contemporary designs by Miguel Câncio Martins who carefully maintained all the designs of the external architecture.

The work by Cassiano Branco was lavished on the project for the Hotel Britania, where fans of the 1940’s can relive that epoca in spacious rooms with the original cork flooring.

Then, since 1954 managed by the same family, there’s the Hotel Lisboa Plaza, fruit of a project signed by Lucìnio Cruz and renovated by the Atelier Graça Viterbo that left intact the sensation of being in a stately Lisbon home.

In the same way the Hotel As Janelas Verdes (and the green windows) is a true and proper set for a novel: a hotel on the banks of the Tago installed in an 18th century building, just a few steps from the Museo Nazionale di Arte Antica. Author Eça de Queirós stayed here when he wrote his book Os Majas. It goes without saying that As Janelas Verdes has a well-furnished library with a terrace that overlooks the river, the ideal setting to read some of the best pages right where the novel took shape.

Infine è impossibile non prendere il famoso tram 28 per arrampicarsi verso l’Alfama, l’unico quartiere non distrutto dal terremoto del 1755, che conserva intatto il labirinto di vicoli e piazzette tipiche di una cittadella medievale. Da lì si gode di una vista mozzafiato, come quella che offre il quinto hotel Heritage che è situato proprio nella cittadella: l’Hotel Solar Do Castelo.

Un gioiello unico, luogo ideale per chi cerca qualcosa di romantico e particolare, composto di una mansarda e due piani, giardino e patio nobile, che sorge dove un tempo si trovavano le antiche cucine del Paço das Alcàçovas e ancora oggi protagonista di intriganti e misteriose leggende.

In conclusion how could you not take the famous tram 28 that climbs towards Alfama, the only neighborhood not destroyed by the 1755 earthquake, that to this day conserves intact the labyrinth of alleyways and small squares typical of a medieval citadel. A breathtaking view, such as that provided by the fifth Heritage hotel, that it located right in the citadel: the Hotel Solar Do Castelo. A unique gem, the ideal place for romantics, composed of an attic and two floors, garden and patio, on the site of the ancient kitchens of the Paço das Alcàçovas and still today protagonist of mysterious legends and intrigue. A must!

WINTER EXHIBITIONS TOULOUSE-LAUTREC A ROME Un grande evento d’arte contemporanea Toulouse-Lautrec, con circa 170 opere provenienti dal Museo di Belle Arti di Budapest, arriva al Museo dell’Ara Pacis di Roma. Una grande mostra sul pittore bohémien della Parigi di fine Ottocento, che ripercorre la vita dell’artista dal 1891 al 1900, poco prima della sua morte avvenuta a soli 36 anni.

Dal 4 dicembre 2015 fino all’ 8 maggio 2016. La mostra consentirà di visionare il fiore della raccolta di opere di Toulouse-Lautrec conservata al Museo di Belle Arti di Budapest (Szépmı vészeti Múzeum), uno dei più importanti in Europa, con capolavori che vanno dal Medioevo al Novecento.

TOULOUSE-LAUTREC GOES TO ROME An important contemporary exhibition dedicated to Toulouse-Lautrec, with approximately 170 works from the Museo di Belle Arti of Budapest, are on display at the Museo dell’Ara Pacis of Rome.

An exhibition dedicated to the great Parisian bohemian painter from the end of the 1800’s, which covers the artist’s life between 1891 and 1900, shortly before his demise at just 36 years of age.

From December 4, 2015 through May 8, 2016. The exhibit concentrates on the best of ToulouseLatrec’s works conserved at the Museo di Belle Arti of Budapest (Szépmı vészeti Múzeum),one of the most important in Europe, with masterpieces that range from the Middle Ages to the 1900’s.

In occasione dell’esposizione romana, curata da Zsuzsa Gonda e Kata Bodor, dunque circa 170 litografie della collezione (tra cui otto affiches di grande formato e due cover degli album della cantante, attrice e scrittrice francese Yvette Guilbert con circa 10 litografie) lasceranno Budapest per essere esposte all’Ara Pacis fino all’8 maggio 2016. Attraverso questa esposizione sarà quindi possibile conoscere a tutto tondo l’opera grafica di Toulouse-Lautrec: manifesti, illustrazioni, copertine di spartiti e locandine, alcune delle quali sono autentiche rarità perché stampate in tirature limitate, firmate e numerate e corredate dalla dedica dell’artista.

For the Roman exhibition, curated by Zsuzsa Gonda and Kata Bodor, consequently, approximately 170 lithographs from the collection (including eight large affiches and two album covers of French singer, actress and authoress Yvette Guilbert with about 10 lithographs) will leave Budapest and go on display at the Ara Pacis through May 8, 2016. Through this exhibition the entire graphic works of Toulouse-Lautrec can be viewed: posters, illustrations, music covers and flyers, some of which are authentic rarities inasmuch as printed in limited editions, signed, numbered and complete with the artist’s dedication.

HERITAGE. HISTORY OF FABRICS AND FASHION A rich display on exhibition until April 30, 2016 at the Prato Textile Museum shows a wealth of subjects, which from the 16th century reaches to the 1960’s, fabrics and clothing continuously merge, underlining the reciprocal interconnections and inviting visitors to read fabrics in the function of their end use.

Displayed next to fabrics, garments and accessories, a selection of sample books, paper models and antique fashion newspapers, original designs for clothes and rare editions. From the garments for underneath from the 1500’s, rare examples of period underwear for men, women and children, part of a trousseau made for the aristocracy, still today miraculously intact.

HERITAGE. STORIE DI TESSUTI E DI MODA Al Museo del Tessuto di Prato in mostra fino al 30 Aprile 2016, un ricco percorso espositivo, che dal XVI secolo giunge fino agli anni Sessanta del Novecento, tessuti ed abiti dialogano continuamente, sottolineando le reciproche interconnessioni ed invitando il visitatore a leggere il tessuto in funzione del suo utilizzo finale.

Accanto a tessuti, abiti ed accessori, una selezione di libri campionario, figurini e giornali antichi di moda, bozzetti originali per abiti e rare edizioni. Dai vesti per sotto del Cinquecento, esempi rarissimi di intimo dell’epoca per uomo, donna e bambino, che fanno parte di un corredo prodotto per l’aristocrazia, giunto miracolosamente fino a noi.

A preziosi esemplari seicenteschi in stile bizarre che rappresentano l’influsso delle arti e della cultura orientali.

Passando per gli abiti di corte, con una veste realizzata per la corte borbonica - testimoniata anche da altri esemplari tra i quali uno conservato al Metropolitan Museum di New York - ed una uniforme della guardia marinara dei Cavalieri di Santo Stefano, entrambe del XIX secolo. I preziosi scialli Cashmere, realizzati in lana cashmere nell’omonima regione dell’India e ampiamente importati nell’Europa del XIX secolo, presenti in mostra sia nella versione originale, che in un pregevole riadattamento come veste da passeggio. Oltre ad essi uno spettacolare tessuto in stile art nouveau progettato dal celebre Silver Studio in Inghilterra alla fine del XIX secolo. Per finire con cinque straordinari abiti femminili sartoriali del Novecento - emblematici dell’ampliamento di interessi del Museo verso il tema della moda - che raccontano per episodi l’evoluzione dello stile e dell’eleganza, scandendo quasi al decennio sessanta anni di cambiamenti sociali e di gusto.

Precious examples from the 1600’s in bizarre style represent the influx of oriental arts and culture. Next are court clothes, with a garment made for the Bourbon Court (there are also other pieces including one conserved at the Metropolitan Museum of New York) and a uniform from the naval guard of the Knights of Saint Stephen, from the 19th century. The precious cashmere shawls, made in cashmere from the region of the same name in India and introduced to Europe in the 19th century on a large scale, on display both in their original version as well as in the noteworthy adaptation as outdoor dress. In addition to these items, a spectacular art nouveau fabric designed by the famous Silver Studio in England at the end of the 19th century. Winding up with five extraordinary women’s’ tailor-made dresses from the 1900’s emblematic of the Museum’s extensive interests in fashion, that tell of the evolution of style and elegance, marking nearly each decade of the sixty years of social and cultural changes.

A TORINO GIO PONTI E LA RICHARD GINORI In esposizione a Palazzo Madama dal 4 dicembre al 29 febbraio, le creazioni di due eccellenze italiane. Un evento straordinario. Ponti creò varie opere nel decennio 1923-1933 per la fabbrica di Sesto Fiorentino, di cui divenne direttore artistico all’età di 31 anni, dopo essere stato notato da Augusto Richard all’esposizione di Monza del 1922.

L’esposizione comprende un’ampia selezione di lettere e disegni di Gio Ponti, provenienti dall’Archivio del Museo Richard-Ginori, e settanta opere in porcellana, anch’esse dal Museo di Sesto Fiorentino, tra cui capolavori come l’orcio “Le mie donne”, l’urna con decoro a serliana, la cista nera con decori in oro agatato, il vaso con coperchio raffigurante i ballerini, la celebre urna con “Passeggiata Archeologica”, che evidenziano la profondità del linguaggio pontiano, le sue riflessioni sulla classicità, i riferimenti al movimento futurista.

The exhibition includes a broad selection of Gio Ponti’s letters and designs, conserved at the Archivio del Museo Richard-Ginori, and seventy works in porcelain, also taken from the Museo di Sesto Fiorentino, including masterpieces such as Le mie donne jar, the urn with serliana decorations, the black cista with gold decorations, the covered vase depicting dancers, the famous urn with Passeggiata Archeologica, which shows the depth of Ponti’s language, his reflections on the classics, the references to the futuristic movement.
