27 04 THE FINALISTS 2023 ROYAL LANCASTER LONDON LANCASTER TERRACE 23 #B&llas23
WELCOME
Well, hello there and welcome to the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards 2023. Now in its eighth year, the B&LLAs was launched with the remit of shining a spotlight on and rewarding the excellence in product innovation, brand licensing management and retail execution in the brand and lifestyle licensing arena.
In the years since launch, the B&LLAs team has watched the sector truly come of age – exciting, vibrant, fearless and far reaching when it comes to collaborations and product innovation, this is a business which refused to be cowed by the pandemic, finding new ways to engage with consumers – and attracting a whole swathe of new fans in the process. In 2023, the brand and lifestyle category exudes confidence – notably, this year’s awards received a record number of entries – underlined by the fact brands can now be found in more retailers than ever: from Aldi to Waitrose, B&M to Selfridges, ASOS to Anthropologie.
And just like the sector that it celebrates, the B&LLAs also continues to grow and evolve.
Not only are we being hosted by a new venue – the Royal Lancaster London – but this year we have offered a fully vegetarian menu for the first time as the event moves forward on its sustainable journey, helping
to minimise its carbon footprint.
We’re also celebrating new talent, too, with the introduction of a Rising Star award – sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe’s Retail Mentoring Programme - to honour young professionals who are building awareness for brands and driving innovation across both retail and product … and judging by the quality of the nominations we received, the future of the sector is in safe hands.
A big thank you also has to go to Brand Licensing Europe as our headline sponsor, and to trade body, Licensing International, for their continuous support.
All that’s left is to wish all of this year’s finalists the best of luck and raise our glasses in celebration of you all.
Ian
Matt

The National Gallery is one of the greatest art galleries in the world. Founded by Parliament in 1824, the Gallery houses the nation’s collection of paintings in the Western European tradition from the late 13th to the early 20th century. The collection of over 2,300 paintings includes works by Artemisia Gentileschi, Bellini, Cézanne, Degas, Leonardo, Monet, Raphael, Rembrandt, Renoir, Rubens, Titian, Turner, Van Dyck, Van Gogh and Velázquez. On May 10th, 2024, we come together to start celebrations of the National Gallery’s Bicentenary –marking 200 years of bringing people and paintings together. We’ll celebrate our past and look forward to our future with a year-long festival of art, creativity and imagination as we enter our third century. We invite everyone to join the celebration as part of an ambitious programme of events and exhibitions that extends from the Gallery into Trafalgar Square, across the nation, and to the world. From seeing a real work in the context of local museums or galleries to enjoying a dive into the virtual history of the nation’s collection, everyone can find new ways to connect with art. Join us as we mark this milestone occasion by becoming part of our licensing programme. With multiple opportunities to access and apply images of some of the best-loved paintings ever created, across all major products categories, services, and experiences.

PG Live is fantastic. It is so great to catch up with new and current designers.
I was really impressed with variety, many of which will form part of our future offer and help lift ATV across our ranges.
LICENSING IS AT HOME HERE
Of the 200 exhibitors at PG Live, many have licensing connections, both licensing in as well as licensing out!
Abacus Cards, ArtPress, Brainbox Candy, Cardology, Carousel Calendars, Cath Tate, Danilo, GBCC, Glick, Hallmark, Hooli Mooli, Hype, Ling Design, Mint, Museums & Galleries, Penny Kennedy, Pigment, The Art File, Widdop & Co, Woodmansterne and UK Greetings are just a handful of the licensees that will be exhibiting.
Everyone from the licensing community will receive a warm welcome, with a free lunch, opening night party and free tea and coffee (in proper cups) throughout the show!
Lots of fabulous newness
