design studio III [ARC 2116]
project I | spatial typologies & spatial poetics For this project we explored linear & concentric spatial typologies. By referring to case studies, we examined how architects have used the 5 senses to create poetic spaces. In a group of 4, we had to design one linear space & one concentric space based on a selected poem to communicate our understanding of spatial typologies & spatial poetics.
project II | genius loci In this design studio project, I had the chance to explore the definition of genius loci - the sense of place or being.

project I | case study paper
We chose Heeren Street, Malacca as our Historical Street. An A4, wirebound photo book was produced.
computer applications II [ARC 2713]
For this assignment I chose to model a Pikachu as my required sculpture. Careful planning of each body part helped in the making of this sculpture.
project II | still renderings with materials, lights, camera views with site context
project IIa | exterior renderings

2 1 Assign Environment background 2 Test renderings to ensure quality & pixel clarity
project IIb | inteiror renderings Using the skills learnt in the first part of the project, I produced 2 interior view renderings of the same building.

project III | animation For thefinal project, I had to produce a minimum of 60 secs animation featuring our chosen building, showcasing the exterior & the interior as well as site context. I had my first taste at the video rendering process as well as develop my own storyline in order to make the video interesting visually. It was my first time & I enjoyed it.

This subject thought me how to hold my own as a designer & that knowledge & inspiration can come from anywhere.

With the aid of a data logger, the temperature readings of a chosen site (a master bed room) was observed & recorded over a period of time. Data was tabulated & analysed in order to determine the thermal comfort level of the space.
project Ib | research paper writing Using our newfound knowledge from the first project, we produced a 4000 word research paper on the efficiency of timber as a cladding material for buildings in Malaysia. Our research led us to The Dusun, a cluster of chalets whereby one of them is chosen as our case study. A site visit was conducted to Emas House, a chalet with a Malay traditional wooden house inspired design. Interviews were conducted with the owner & manager, photos were taken with permission & data was collected in the form of research & observation. Total heat gain was calculated using the formula Qc + Qs + Qv + Qi = 0

project I | understanding forces in skeletal structure
Height Weight Load Efficiency
31cm 100g 20.5kg 6.36
At 20.5kg, the skeletal structure reached brea king point. To overcome this, additional Z braces are needed.
project II | understanding forces in solid structure & surface structure
