Golf at MCC Welcome to 2022! The McAllen Country Club Golf Shop is excited to provide our members and their guests with more product and services to enhance their experience at the club. Jonathan Gamez and Pablo Bocanegra have been with us for a few months. Both are ready to take your golf game to a new level. Stop by to set up a class for you, your kiddo(s), spouse or anyone else needing to learn this amazing game. Krista Flores and Caroly Cantu can help you with product selection, gift ideas or general help with questions. Our outside services crew is always here to help you. Whether you need to get your clubs or cart cleaned, or just looking to get your private golf cart serviced, they are here to assist you.

With the start of every year, it’s time to check your equipment. It starts by taking a good look at what you have. Are they older than two years? If so, you may be in need of some upgrades. Technology has increased so much in the last few years, it’s crazy. Manufacturers are making clubs that are easier to hit the ball further and straighter. Next, It’s always a good idea to check those grips; they are the most overlooked piece of your equipment. Don’t just check the ‘wear and tear’ of the grip, check to see if you have the correct size and material. Grips need to fit your hand. If they are too small or too big, it can cause numerous issues to your swing, hands, muscles but most importantly, your psyche. The staff can assist you with finding a solution to all these potential issues. We are here to serve YOU! Happy New Year!

TENNIS at MCC Dear Members, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the great participation throughout the year on the courts. I hope your New Year’s Resolution will include more Tennis at the club. I would also like to thank the kids for being great students all year and the parents for their continued support.

On Saturday, January 22nd, MCC is hosting The Men’s & Women’s Singles Club Championship for the right to the front Parking Spot. Men have to be on the ladder, with challenge matches completed, otherwise they will not be able to play for the parking spot. Women can enter the tournament for the first time and the winner will receive a right to the front Parking Spot. Entry deadline for the tournament is Monday, January 17th @ 5 pm at the Pro Shop. MCC will host a Professional Men’s USTA Futures event here on our courts in October 2022. It will be a great event for adults and kids to see future tennis stars. If anyone is interested in sponsorship for the Professional Tournament, please contact the Tennis Shop for further information. Our MCC Women’s Doubles League will resume play on January 4th at 8:45 am. If you are interested in playing in our MCC Women’s League or our USTA Leagues, please contact the Tennis Shop at 956-682-3459 for further information. Our after-school program for kids will restart on Monday, January 10th. Applications can be picked up at the Tennis Shop. This is for members only. Attention to all Pickleballers: Court 7 nearest to the Parking Lot has permanent Pickleball lines painted in yellow on the court. If you have any questions concerning our programs, lessons or the ball machine, please feel free to call our Tennis Shop at 956-682-3459 See you all on the courts,

Rudi
