November Newsletter MCC 2024
Dear MCC Members,
As I take over the presidency of this fine club, I’d like to first thank Jeff Grossman for his two-year service as President
Secondly, I’d also like to thank the membership as a whole for joining us for the All-Member Meeting. Great information. If you did not receive the recording of the event, please call the club; they will be glad to forward it to you.
Thirdly, I’d like to take this opportunity to address ongoing rumors:
1. The Board has discussed the assessment at length for some two years. The Board realizes that the club has much deferred maintenance which includes the golf course, golf maintenance facility, kitchen and locker rooms, to name a few.
2. The Board has not determined how much money is necessary to keep MCC relevant. We are researching costs now.
3 The Board has not decided when any assessment will take place, nor additional terms of any assessment Will it be tiered for golfers vs social and younger members vs older? This is a concern that the Board continues to discuss
4 Lastly, please know that the Board does NOT want to lose a single member, every member is vital to the success of MCC
Lastly, please know that we will keep all members posted regarding the tough decisions facing MCC Together we will create a bright future for ourselves, our children, and their children
Sincerely,
Jay Cortez, MCC President

The holiday season is here, and we are gearing up for our annual Thanksgiving celebrations Whether you’re planning to dine with us or prefer the convenience of our Thanksgiving Turkey pick up, remember you can pick up just sides, or just the turkey to accent your family traditions. Check the flyers, Clubster, and postings around the club for all the details. Make your reservations or place your pickup orders early to ensure you don’t miss out!
Also, as the days get shorter and daylight savings time, please note that the Roost/Hickory Kitchen is closing earlier Keep an eye on the updated hours posted around the club
Thank you again for your continued support, and I look forward to creating more unforgettable culinary experiences together!

Dear Members,
The Tee’d off at Breast Cancer Golf Tournament was a huge success. The golf course was incredible, and we received many compliments from the competitors Thank you to everyone that came out to help support breast cancer awareness and the Reeve, Ramirez, Patterson Cancer Foundation The tournament was able to raise over $2000 for the RRP Foundation
It is that time again. The Millennium Cup is in Game Three in a Best of Five Series – Team Stinger vs Team Four Aces This marks the 26th playing of the Millennium Cup This series has seen some truly lopsided matches I feel this year will be different. This year will be a nail-biter. Both teams are stacked with studs that love to play and are very competitive
Team Stinger Captain, Kevin Hartley and Co-Captain Cameron MacDonald will be pulling out all the stops to end this series on a clean sweep Team Four Aces Captain, Brian Humphreys and Co-Captain Rogelio Garza Jr. have their own devious plans to break the “wine” curse and keep the series alive
The tournament will have dual progressive starts on hole #1 and #10 Tee-times will begin at 9:30am and end at 11:30am. The golf course will open to non-tournament play after 12:30pm. Please plan your weekend golf accordingly
I would like to introduce the membership to the McAllen Country Club Golf Hub. It will be the club’s portal to the upcoming golf tournament calendar The Golf Hub will allow the membership to see what is upcoming and sign up for the golf events they are interested in. Each event will have its own event hub/website that will provide you with a quick breakdown of the event format, tee-time, entry fee, and all other relevant information as well as access to register for the event.
The Golf Shop will still answer any of your questions and sign you up for any event; this is just a great way to see what is going on at the golf course quickly and easily. The McAllen Country Club Golf Hub –https://golfhub.golfgenius.com/clubs/f841840f-5484-4c64-b9a6-a0
