Dear MCC Members, Happy New Year to all!
On behalf of all the MCC staff, THANK YOU to all the members who contributed to the Employee Christmas Fund. Your kindness is truly appreciated. As we begin the new year, so begins the pool house remodel Demolition will start early in the month with the project taking several months (we hope the entire project will be done before the season starts, but we all know how that goes…). I will keep you posted with updates. All in all, it is a very exciting and long overdue project.
Also worth noting, with the approval of five new members, that puts us almost at a waitlist for membership. Currently MCC has 878 members with a cap at 885! What a perfect position for your club to be in. It has been my experience that all clubs strive for a waitlist – it means collectively we are doing so many things right and that people want to be a part of this great club. But don’t get me wrong, we need to strive to be better every day. As I’ve stated many times: what a great time to be a member of McAllen Country Club. With that, I look forward to seeing you around your club, Jeff
Dear MCC Members,
It's that time of year again when we change our menus along with the New Year. We will be transitioning from our fall to winter seasonal vegetables and offerings The Friday lunch buffet format has changed to a different concept throughout the month, so make your plans accordingly. If you didn't know, Thursday features are an experiment for our up-and-coming menu. We test and receive feedback on what we consider for the next season's menu. Come check it out and let your service staff know what you think!
With the conclusion of 2022, I want to thank the membership for supporting us throughout this year. I truly appreciate all that you have helped us to accomplish. We continue to strive for improvement every day and each successive year with many more to come.
The successes we've enjoyed in dining and events are due to you, the members. As the club's success increases, our department expands. With that, our Food and Beverage program has evolved and continues to bust at the seams. With all this growth, we are planning more events and activities The team has put together a robust lineup for 2023. Make sure to check our calendar to save those dates!
Our success is yours, and I feel so proud to be a part of your club. Happy New Year, and thank you from the front and back of the house!
Dear MCC Members, Welcome to 2023. With a new year, comes new hope and promises. As we all age, we learn more and more from our experiences. Those experiences help to educate us on our actions and how they effect things immediately and long term One of those things that is often overlooked is how it effects those around us. Take the time this year to walk up to someone you may not know when you are on the course. Introduce yourself. Get to know your membership; McAllen Country Club is one large extended family; get out there and make some new friends, maybe you find a new group to play with… Golf, as a sport, is a solitary game. But it’s BEST played in a group. Start the new year meeting your membership and having a positive impact on someone.
We kick the year off with the All Valley Women’s Golf Association on Wednesday, January 11th. This event will kick off at 9am and be off the course by 1pm. Please plan your golf accordingly. Following the AVWGA event will be the Año Nuevo. The Año Nuevo will be played January 13th to 15th. This is by far the club’s most popular event. The event fills up the day we open registration. I have included a schedule of events to better allow you to plan your weekend golf
