HAPPY NEW YEAR
Dear MCC Members, Happy New Year to all. As we continue implementing the new dining dress code, please make sure you and your guests are familiar and adhere to the policy. Keep in mind there are dress codes throughout the club – golf course, dining rooms (which vary by room), tennis, fitness as well. The House Committee has authored the new dining dress code and has asked that management help enforce it. Management’s directive is this: unless the member’s dress is egregiously inappropriate, the person is allowed to enjoy their club experience; however, a letter will be sent from the House Committee regarding the offense which should be the end of any more issues. A second violation will result in a letter from the GM, the third from the Board. Please know it is the last thing management wants to do is to confront and embarrass anyone about how they are dressed, but this is a country club after all. I’d like to thank everyone for their continued help and support in this manner. Please see the center section of the newsletter for further information on the dress code. Secondly, the Board continues to work towards completion of our Strategic Plan. Once finalized, I will certainly be sharing with membership and my staff alike. Lastly, if you find a golf club accidentally left on the golf course, please turn it in to the Golf Shop ASAP with details of where it was found so we can get it to its owner immediately. Imagine if it were your club, you would certainly want it back quickly. Please know that we continue with a full membership with a short waitlist. As I have stated many times: what a great time to be a member of McAllen Country Club. If you haven’t signed up for CLUBSTER, please do so. The app helps us communicate directly with you. With that, I look forward to seeing you around your club,
Jeff

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow!
Dear Members, Our latest menu reflects this season’s charm. From hearty Veal Osso Bucco to savory and sweet Baked Brie Encroute, each dish has an element of winter, from locally grown mushrooms and vegetables to the herbs we grow on site. We have some exciting upcoming events: Valentine’s Day Dinner: Join us February 14th for a night of romance featuring a specially curated menu that transcends the ordinary. Lantern Festival for the Chinese New Year: Celebrate the Year of the Dragon on February 24th. This is always a fun event for me personally, and now a new club tradition 4 years running. Date with Dad: This heartwarming event on February 6th is a tribute to fathers and their daughters. This is an older club tradition that sees all generations participate every year. Share laughter and create cherished memories over a delightful meal that speaks to the warmth of familial connections. Amid these events, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Bingo Night on January 25th. A new event we sprinkled in with fun for all ages. The new year brings fresh goals and offerings, promising to elevate your member experience.

Dear Members, Game Two of the Best of Five series has come to an end with the 2023 Millennium Cup. Team Stinger had a two-point lead after day one, and although they only scored half a point more than Team Four Aces on day two, they managed to maintain their lead and secure the victory. I would like to express my gratitude to both captains. The trophy was awarded to Team Stinger’s Captain Eddie Cantu and Co-Captain Kevin Hartley, who hoisted the Stinger Flag for another year. Congratulations to all members of Team Stinger. I would also like to express my appreciation to Team Four Ace’s Captain Tony Trad and Co-Captain Brian Humphreys for their outstanding efforts. The players will surely be discussing the putts they missed and the missed opportunities. The final score was Stinger 46.25 - Four Aces 43.75.
