September Newsletter 2023

Dear MCC Members,

The club is actively searching for a Director of Tennis, in the interim, Victor Dupre will be helping oversee the tennis programming. Yes, Victor was my dining room manager who retired not long ago. His passion and background has always been very tennis focused. His duty is to help us bridge the gap until a Tennis Professional is found. Leagues and after school programs will continue as usual with the help of Hannia, Jackie, and Jeremiah.

Also, my sincerest thank you to the outgoing Board Members - Jason Leal, Jennifer Szutz and Alfredo Montanaro. Thank you for your support, expertise, and leadership over the last three years.

On the other hand, let me welcome Thomas Davidson, Tina Martin, and Brian Humphreys to the MCC Board of Directors; I am truly excited to work with/for them over the next few years.

We are trying an experiment. Typically, the Pool House closes with the end of summer on Labor Day, but since the remodel was just completed, we will continue to run the Pool House with summer hours. Weekdays will only be kitchen and dining staff, weekends we will add lifeguards, only because all of our lifeguards headed back to school and are only available weekends. Please consider dining at the pool after tennis, ordering a pizza to go, or drop by for a beverage during or after golf. Your support helps us to determine hours of operation.

Also, speaking of the pool, please know that we are working with Rainbow Play Park to replace the one we lost at the pool; we should have a replacement soon.

If you haven’t signed up for CLUBSTER, please do so. The app helps us communicate to all members, directly to your phone.

Lastly, we continue with a full membership with a waitlist. As I have stated many times: what a great time to be a member of McAllen Country Club.

With that, I look forward to seeing you around your club,

Eduardo

Dear MCC Members,

You've probably noticed that the world has become a bit of a price rollercoaster lately. Our delicious beef fajitas have been added to that list of items experiencing exponential cost increases. Due to factors beyond our control, we must increase prices accordingly.

We want to assure you that we're not compromising on quality to bring you these fajitas. Our commitment to providing you with the finest dining experience remains steadfast. We're simply adjusting to the market dynamics, and as soon as the winds of change blow in our favor, we'll happily bring those prices back down. Think of it as a temporary bump in the road to savoring those mouthwatering fajitas. We will maintain the excellence you've come to expect.

Speaking of sizzle, our recent pool house pizza party was a blazing hit! We're thrilled to share that our kitchen team was on fire, crafting a delectable pizza every 1.11 minutes.

In closing, we'd like to express our deepest gratitude to all of you for your continued support. Your unwavering commitment to your club is what makes it such a special place. We're here to make your club experience exceptional, from fajitas to fun-filled events.

So, as we navigate these price fluctuations together, remember that our commitment to quality and your satisfaction remains unchanged.

Dear MCC Members,

I would like to thank all the kids who came out and gave it their all this summer. I can’t tell you how awesome it is to work with all the kids and to see the improvements. Big thank you to all the parents for introducing your kids to this wonderful game. We ended this season with a two-kid scramble tournament on Friday, August 11th. It was a great turnout with 22 kids competing. In the end, there was a two-way tie between, Noah & Jonah Lee and John Guerra & Jake Slusher. The event went to a scorecard playoff. Winning with a par on the first playoff hole was the team of Noah and Jonah Lee. Congratulations! I hope everyone had a great time over the summer.
