COLLEGE FOR KIDS: IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD College for Kids comes to you with In Your Neighborhood summer camps. Taking place at a variety of locations throughout the four counties around the Omaha metro area, we bring inclusive educational opportunities to locations convenient for you and your family. In Your Neighborhood camps are designed for children between ages 5-11. These creative and fun programs build curiosity, life skills and academic skills with topics that kids love to explore. Throughout the summer, we investigate a variety of educational pathways that will serve kids with their future goals and endeavors.
AGES In Your Neighborhood camps have activities geared toward social, fine-motor and intellectual skills of children ages 5-11. Camps are sorted by age in each location. Any 5-year-old who has completed kindergarten may be enrolled for a class for 6-year-olds. DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP INFORMATION
BUILD YOUR OWN DAY CAMP EXPERIENCE
Students enrolled in High Fives must be dropped off and picked up at their classroom each day. These classes end at 11:45 a.m. each day. A code will be given to the parent/guardian at the time of dropoff. Whoever picks up the child must have that day’s code.
In Your Neighborhood camps are designed for families to schedule up to three camp experiences at one location to enhance the summer camp experience. If your child loves entomology, strategy games like chess and LEGO® engineering challenges, we have you covered. Each child may be registered for up to three classes per week.
For an added level of security, students enrolled in classes held for ages 6-11 will be walked outside by an MCC aide for pickup each day. Parents/guardians will not need to come into the building for pick up. Staggered pickup times are below. In case of rain, students will wait inside the main entrance for pickup.
HOURS AND HOLIDAYS In Your Neighborhood camps run only in the mornings. If you would like to add more educational opportunities to your child’s summer plans, check out the College for Kids and College for Teens sections in this mailer. In Your Neighborhood classes for College for Kids are held for four days, Monday through Thursday, except the week of June 17 at Upchurch Elementary School. That session will run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in observance of Juneteenth.
