INSTRUCTOR HIGHLIGHT
Holly Kempkes has cultivated a flourishing career in horticulture and floral design, driven by a deep-rooted passion for nature’s beauty. Her journey began in childhood, planting and nurturing vibrant annuals and enduring perennials alongside her mother. Kempkes’ professional path was transformed when she crafted her first floral arrangement for a grieving family and witnessed the power of flowers to bring comfort and joy.
Kempkes’ love for floral design has blossomed into a diverse career that includes competing in floral design competitions and a degree in horticulture from Metropolitan Community College. Driven by the philosophy that “You can always better your craft, whatever it is,” Kempkes now joins us as an instructor in both Community Education and the credit program at MCC.
With more than two decades in the floral design industry, Kempkes has created arrangements for actresses, beauty queens, brides, proms and even horses. She will encourage you to recognize the artistry within yourself.
“I thrive on teaching my students to find their unique voice in design and love watching them come into their own.” — Holly Kempkes
