Calling all up-and-coming babysitters and teens interested in emergency services. Become CPR-certified and learn the proper procedures of first aid, tying knots and the use of an AED. Gain the basic skills necessary to effectively identify and treat emergencies in the critical first minutes of injury or illness. Learn proper fire extinguisher usage and learn sound decision-making processes on when to use an extinguisher. Learn about our high school career academy and explore different career opportunities while being challenged mentally and physically as you are introduced to your new role as an emergency care provider. Automotive collision technicians repair damaged bodies and body parts of automotive vehicles, restoring to pre-loss conditions. This hands-on camp, sponsored by Sherwood Homes and Lane Building Corp, allows you to explore the possibilities of working in the high-skilled construction trades. In this multi-sport referee camp, students will learn how to officiate and umpire softball, baseball, volleyball and basketball. Core themes of game rules, referee mechanics, and in game situations will be covered on a full-sized indoor basketball court. Through this teaching approach, students will practice their calls in front of other students gaining confidence and deeper understanding of what makes a fair and professional official. At the end of camp, students will receive a certification of camp completion, their own basketball whistle, and can use the instructor Nathan Hankenson as a reference for future jobs. (ages 14-17)
