GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE
It's hard to believe half of 2024 has passed, but I would say it’s been a very advantageous first half of the year for us here at Treyburn
Events and Activities
We’ve had some wonderful proceedings to kickstart spring! March consisted of Glow Golf, Cabin Fever, TMGA parties, cooking classes, and ended with some fun Easter festivities. April, as well, is where we really started rolling with TLGA Opening Day, Mediterranean Night, Masters Par 3 event, Forum Winery Trip, NC High School Invitational, Women’s Wellness, Couple’s Golf, and ParentChild events, then closed out April with Ladies’ Member-Guest, which was an incredible function as always
May, believe it or not, was even busier on our calendar, but if you know my leadership team, we love being busy and filling events up. We kicked off May with a beautiful wedding, really showcasing what’s possible with our event/F&B team We hosted the U S Amateur Tour, a high school regional qualifier tournament, Ladies’ Member-Member with Men’s Spring 1-day following More TMGA events gave way to an unexpected and new tournaments for us, partnering with the Society of Seniors, where they hosted a magnificent tournament We are in this business to build lasting relationships, and Ryan and the golf team really stepped up to knock that out of the park
May wrapped up with CGA Senior Fourball and our Men’s Club Championship, as well as the opening of the pool, where we were able to get some new umbrellas and little tables for continued improvement out there Of course, Mother’s Day is always a hit and has remained the trend this year, so we will remain grateful to you all for the support on birthday nights, Sunday brunches, and any random nights we get a good crowd to come out just to have a drink and enjoy each other’s company. June was a month to catch our breath a little and enjoy the summer heat! As the pool is busier than last year, we had a couple great events as well We saw a graduation party on the first weekend, which was also host to the Super Senior Club Championship The Empower The entire outing was a huge success, and again, it couldn’t have been done without Ryan and his team firing on all cylinders. The Men’s Member-Member competition later that week is always a fun weekend, as we love to see the competition Father’s Day was busier than usual, so we appreciate everyone coming out to support the club We then hosted a Bourbon & Steak Night, which was an incredibly unique event put on by our culinary/F&B team Steaks were looking good, and the Bourbon flight was a huge success, so thank you!
Renovations and Projects
Most of the projects that my team has been working on have been behind the scenes, but as everyone already knows, the pool pump as well as new drains were installed by our new pool management company. We gave Mark and his team some updates on his pump house so he and his team may continue to be as efficient as possible We have a couple HVAC’s still being replaced that are really going to wrap up our major renovations taking place this year If you know me, you’ll still continue to see improvements as the year progresses, but all the main projects are being completed. I will still be doing little touch-ups here and there, and as always, I welcome any suggestions to help us enhance the experience here
Looking Forward
July and August are going to continue to be very busy, monumental months for us at the club Aside from the already planned 12 golf events throughout the two months, we have some great planned activities to come enjoy As always, our 4th of July cookout is where our chefs fire up the grill and get all the fixings ready for the day! We have more cooking classes, trivia nights, movies on the lawn, and our normal, monthly scheduled events.
Second Half
We have, in all transparency, had a wonderful first half of 2024 and are really optimistic about how this year will unfold. The club is doing better than it has in a very long time, and it’s all thanks to our members continuing to support our events and our vision of a blossoming club We appreciate everyone’s support more than you know, and we always welcome anyone’s input on how we can improve I continue to have countless conversations with members regarding what we can do better and continue to implement things across the board.
As I conclude this letter, I want to express, once again, our gratitude to all for their continued support of the club and the direction we’re headed. We all play a role in how this club performs, and it has been awe-inspiring to see changes unfold before our eyes. From revamping our activities and catering to new staff members and all the countless upgrades, we are committed to seeing continued success and improvement for the betterment of the club, and it's all thanks to you, our members Cheers for now and again! My office is always open if anyone cares to chat!
With gratitude, Michael Powell

TREYBURN GOLF NEWS
The summer is in full swing. June was a month with very little rain and high temperatures throughout. Mark Snell and his team did an amazing job of keeping the course not only green, but alive during this time The dryjetting process they performed on the green complexes during the second week of June was a huge success. The greens received some much-needed sand and drainage as a result Our agronomy team will now be shifting their focus to a large resodding project on Hole #6 to beautify the area where trees were removed in the spring. Over the course of the summer months, they will be watering the greens throughout the day so that the greens may survive the summer heat If you see them on the green during your round, we ask that you kindly wait until they finish. This goes a long way in helping them get around the course in a timely manner Other ways you can help would be to fill your divots in the fairway and any that you see around you, fix ball marks that you or someone in front of you made on the putting surface, and rake bunkers after use
May and June were filled with Member Golf Events Some of the major events included the Ladies’ Member-Member, the Men’s One-Day Member-Guest, the Men’s & Super Senior Club Championships, & the Men’s Member-Member. Thank you to all those who participated in these events and congratulations to our winners!
Summer for our junior program means junior golf camp! Kids enjoyed four days of instruction, games, snacks, and pool time! This is a great way for our junior stars to get introduced to the game of golf, meet other kids who are members of the Treyburn family, and have a blast while on summer vacation If your children missed the June edition of our golf camp, we will be hosting another camp in July! The next camp begins on July 25th–28th and runs from 9:00 a m –12:00 p m , with the option to add the afternoon session, which continues until 3:00 p m We would love to see your junior there!
The professional golf staff is excited to host a long list of great events coming up! There are different events for players of every skill level We are also very excited to be hosting the McConnell Golf Women’s Solheim Cup for the third year in a row, from July 12th–14th. I have listed the upcoming events below
The Treyburn Professional Staff is here to make your experience more memorable Please let us know if you need anything to improve your rounds with us!
Thank you for your continued support of the Treyburn Golf Operation.
Best,
Ryan Vance, PGA Director of Golf

Premier play Precise designs Pure golf
What began as the historical preservation of Donald Ross’ last golf course design in Raleigh, NC, has blossomed into a portfolio of championship courses from the mountains to the coast. Our “pure golf for the true golfer” motto transcends agronomy, sport and culinary disciplines it is a principle lived every day through exceptional facilities and service. The “Pure Golf for the True Golfer” video encapsulates this principle, made in celebration of #NationalGolfDay.

"William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all With the Padavanos, William experiences a newfound contentment; every moment in their house is filled with loving chaos.
But then darkness from William’s past surfaces, jeopardizing not only Julia’s carefully orchestrated plans for their future, but the sisters’ unshakeable devotion to one another The result is a catastrophic family rift that changes their lives for generations. Will the loyalty that once rooted them be strong enoughtodrawthembacktogetherwhenitmattersmost?
An exquisite homage to Louisa May Alcott’s timeless classic, Little Women, Hello Beautiful is a profoundly moving portrait of what is possible when we choosetolovesomeo
"A forgotten history A secret network of women A legacy of poison and revenge. Welcome to the Lost Apothecary…
Hidden in the depths of eighteenth-century London, a secret apothecary shop caters to an unusual kind of clientele. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives But the apothecary’s fate is jeopardized when her newest patron, a precocious twelve-year-old, makes a fatal mistake, sparking a string of consequences that echo through the centuries
Meanwhile in present-day London, aspiring historian Caroline Parcewell spends her tenth wedding anniversary alone, running from her own demons When she stumbles upon a clue to the unsolved apothecary murders that haunted London two hundred years ago, her life collides with the apothecary’s in a stunning twist of fate and not everyone will survive
With crackling suspense, unforgettable characters and searing insight, The Lost Apothecary is a subversive and intoxicating debut novel of secrets, vengeance and the remarkable ways women can save each other despite the barrier of time ”
