TEE IT UP & TURF TALK GREETINGS BVCC MEMBERS

2020 GPRO TOUR EVENT Brook Valley is still on schedule to once again host the playing professionals of the GPRO Tour in 2020. Currently all GPRO events are on hold until we get past the Covid-19 crisis. This year’s tournament is scheduled to be held July 20-23 and is a featured event on the GPRO Tour schedule – The GPRO TOUR GREENVILLE OPEN! Unfortunately the HV3/GPRO Tour Pro-Am originally planned to be held on the Sunday prior to the tournament will not be held this year but will return in 2021. At this time, player housing will remain on hold. Look for more details about the event once the GPRO Tour schedule resumes.

Spring is here and we are all grateful for the opportunity to get out on the course. However, this year is bringing some significant challenges. We all are aware of the current virus, and how golf has been modified here and around the country. We too are keeping our area disinfected, practicing cleaning recommendations and monitoring our staff. Fortunately, we are able to be here and the course is beginning to wake up rapidly. We have begun vertical cutting the greens and applying growth regulators on a regular routine. Soon we will be mowing fairways, tees, collars, approaches, step-cut and rough. I have heard some predictions that this summer will be a warm one, we will see. It’s a great time to be on a golf course and It is wonderful to see you all out, with rounds increasing in such a time of concern. We on the maintenance staff will be here and continue to keep things going in the face of these difficult times. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns about your course. Owen Legg Brook Valley Superintendant

THE VALLEY VOICE

Working in hospitality means our employees love to serve and connect with people. In these times, our staff misses these interactions dearly. The support we've received from the membership however, has been overwhelming. We just wanted to say, "Thank you." Thank you for every round of golf. Every togo order. Every email, comment, like and share. We could not do what we love to do without you, and if anything, these trying times underscore the value of community. We are so very proud to serve you, and to have built a network of clubs with your support that sustains us all in good times and bad.
