Our Members have been wonderful adjusting to the mandates put in place and supporting the staff as we had to get creative and think outside the box with providing services. As we move forward with combating COVID-19, we are hoping to bring back fun parties for the whole family.

End of the Wagon Train

More than 50 years ago a par point group called the Wagon Train was formed at CCA. The group had as many as 45 members some months when the Snowbirds from Florida returned. They usually had a shotgun start on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, followed by lunch at the Club. Les Stradley, the Club Pro who started in 1969, remembers the group and Clyde Wright as one of the first “Wagonmasters” .

The group was always active in Club affairs and six members, Earle Bensing, Lindsay Harper, Dave Hart, Oscar Maier, Jerry Miller, and Jack Woodhouse, all became Club presidents. But time has taken its toll and the group has shrunk to four players, Earle Bensing, Dan Fowler, Jerry Miller, and Dick Milholland. Two are over 90, with 92-year-old Jerry Miller still “hitting it a mile” . Dick Milholland claims to be the only Club member who has aced all four par 3's including #17 twice. Now all four have chosen to retire bringing the Wagon Train to an end. The final four with Debbie Ponder, honorary Wagon Train member.
