Our spring season has been busy welcoming new and returning members Over March and April, we have welcomed 17 new families and 3 returning, to the Holston Hills CC and McConnell Golf families. Thank you to the members who have referred someone to us. It always makes me smile knowing that our members are proud of their club

With the Korn Ferry Tour ~ Visit Knoxville Open about three weeks out, you will start seeing a lot of communication around that week Once I receive the Member-only passes, I’ll send out multiple emails about picking them up If you have any questions around the tournament, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us Also, please stop by the Member only tent on the 18th green, during the tournament for special member treats daily (Thursday through Sunday). Fingers cross for a great week of golf and weather!

Spring is here and we have been busy with lots of events and fun activities here at Holston Hills CC May and June are gearing up to be packed even more!

We are kicking off May with a new date for our Donald Ross Invitational Member Guest Golf Tournament. The Tournament runs May 2nd -4th. Be on the lookout for some Cinco De Mayo Specials on Sunday, May 5th

We then roll into our next couples golf event, on Friday, May 10th, followed by our Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet A full menu will be released soon, reservations are required. Seating is available from 11:00am-1:30pm, with the Brunch Buffet ending at 2:00pm The Donald Ross Dining Room and Kitchen will reopen for regularall-dayservicebeginningat3:00pm.

INGREDIENTS:

1 TBSP Unsalted Butter

3 TBSP All purpose Flour

1 CUP Chopped Bacon

1 MEDIUM Yellow Onion (diced)

3 RIBS of Celery (diced)

2 LARGE Carrots (diced)

1 LARGE Russet Potato (diced)

METHODOFPREPARATION:

3 CUPS Frozen Yellow Corn

3 QUARTS 2% Milk

½ TSP Kosher Salt

½ TSP Seasoning Salt

1 TSP Black Pepper

2 Bay Leaf

In a heavy bottomed stock pot render the fat out of the bacon, until crispy Remove Bacon from pan and set on papertowelstodrain

HHCC BUNKER PROJECT

JUNE 3rd - Early SEPTEMBER

HHCC Members,

We are very excited to undergo an extensive project of restoring our more than 100 bunkers on the golf course. This project will only enhance our beloved Donald Ross masterpiece. As the bunker project approaches we will do our best to keep all the members as informed as possible on the details of the project. We understand a 3 month project in the middle of the summer creates a hardship on your golfing routine, but we know the end result will be very much worth the inconvenience

Below are a few policy updates during the project. Please understand the tee time structure will be in place to allow groups to play 18 holes by playing the same nine holes twice as either the front nine or the back nine will be closed daily to allow the architect and his crew the space and time they need to expedite the process So you will see the tee sheets blocked in 2 hour segments to allow groups playing to play the same nine holes twice without interruption

Please closely review the other policy changes as well. If tee times become an issue there is a possibility we convert to a tee time lottery system on the weekends, so please be mindful that each person will only be allowed 1 tee time during the project as opposed to the standard rule of 2 Guest play will only be allowed Tuesday-Friday during the project

8:00-10:00am, 12:10-2:00pm, 4:10-6:00pm

Limit to 1 tee time per member

All TBD’s removed 48 hours in advance

Guest Policy:

Guests will only be allow, Tuesdays-Fridays

No guest play on Saturdays or Sundays

Family guests approved on a case by case bases, for Saturdays and Sundays

The 15/3 rule will not apply during the duration of the project

Hello, Holston Hills CC Members!

I am so excited to get things rolling this tennis season here at the club. We have so many new and exciting events this year that I can't wait to put on I have seen so many new faces out on the courts in the last few months, and I am ready to get that going! Our program is thriving here at Holston Hills and it has been amazing to be a part of it. This June marks my third year at Holston, and I could not be more thankful for the amazing membership I have been able to work with.

I have been training with her for almost a year and I can’t say enough great things Her professionalism is second to none I am continually impressed by her breadth of knowledge Each week she finds new ways to challenge me And somehow, she does it while working around a significant limitation with my foot. From the beginning she has effectively built workouts that allow me to maximize effort while avoiding any stress on the area of concern. Prior to surgery she helped prepare and strengthen other areas so that my mobility post-op was better than expected Post surgery she worked her magic again, creating fun and challenging workouts as I eased back into the gym.

Jazz is not the first trainer I have worked with, but she is certainly the most impressive During the pandemic I began working out at home almost exclusively I began to have some joint issues and found myself in a workout rut Jazz was just what I needed She pushes me, motivates me, teaches me, and keeps me coming back for more. Regardless of goal, age, experience or limitations, Jazz has the answer. She can train you like a professional athlete, or someone recovering from surgery.

An introductory yoga class that is accessible to most people, this class follows an Iyenger-style format that is focused on form, detail, precision, and alignment Class generally moves at a slower pace with controlled movements and stretches that align with the breath. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING CLASSES

Join Jazz in a new group training sessions, called FUNCTIONAL TRAINING CLASS

The classes emphasize building and maintaining components of strength, endurance, and mobility Targeting total body with a combination of weighted and body weight exercises. Meeting you at your fitness level is Jazz’s goal focusing on a functional foundation!

KIDS CLUB

MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

Hello! My name is Karlissa Kertchaval, I will be the new Activities Director here at Holston Hills CC, starting May 7th.

I come from a background of several years in the Customer Service and Hospitality industry I spent five years as a Property Management and most recently worked as a Member Experience Coordinator at one of the most private Country Clubs in North Texas In this role, I served as an advocate for the Club and helped manage the experience for Members I love being a smiling face to others, serving others, and I hope to bring a memorable experience to all of the Holston Hills CC members and my new team as well

I have a 1-year-old daughter named Kaia I am originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, but recently lived in Frisco, Texas, just 20 minutes north of Downtown Dallas, Texas. I love all things sports, with the Dallas Cowboys and Golden State Warriors being my two favorite professional sports teams. I enjoy spending time with my daughter, family, and traveling!

Kick off the summer with some fun active camps! We will be playing Tennis with Coach Jacob, Golfing with Coach Christian, Group Fitness with Coach Jazz, and having plenty of fun at the pool!

We will be splitting our time between sports, activities, games, and the Kids Club area Whether it is your first time on the courts or course, or you are a seasoned junior pro, this is a great way to stay active this summer and build your skills! Join us for any or all weeks of this fun camp and see the best of what HHCC has to offer!
