CourseEtiquette

Here are a couple of items that we see happen on the course that many people seem to not follow

1 90 Degree Cart Rule – When carts are allowed on the course, players should stay on the path until they are even with the first ball in the fairway. The players should then drive out straight out to the ball. Then carts should be driven in the fairway, not the rough, to the last ball in fairway or the exit sign. Then the cart should be driven straight over to cart path and up to green.

2. When you are entering a bunker, try to enter on the low side of bunker, do not enter from the high or green side. Entering on the low side is much safer and players do not make as deep footprints that make it much easier to rake

3 Be mindful of where you stand while other players are hitting shots Safety is the number one concern here while the other concern is being in the sight of the player hitting a shot On the green, never stand close to the hole or on the extended line of the person putting on the green On full shots, it’s usually best to stand to the front side of the person playing and slightly behind the ball

4 Push/pull carts should never be taken on top of a tee box, should never be any closer than 10 yards from a green So that means they should never be on a collar or go between a greenside bunker and the green.

Always remember to fill in your divots with sand, rake your bunker and repair ball marks.

PracticeAreaHours

With the time change, we will be adjusting the hours for the practice area.

Monday: Closed All Day

Tuesday - Sunday: 7:30AM - 5:00 PM

Please remember to rake the practice bunkers after you are done and repair ball marks on the practice greens The short game tees are not meant for someone to drop a bucket of balls and hit to a green This tears up the teeing area and really leaves a lot of ball marks on the greens that are not easily repaired Please use the driving range for that type of practice We have a one-of-a-kind short game area, let’s do our part to keep it nice

Pickleball3&MeClinics

Pickleball was invented in 1965 by three fathers from Bainbridge Island, Washington to entertain their kids Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum made the equipment for the game by hand from items they had lying around the house and used rules from the games of tennis, badminton, and table tennis to create a fun new game for their families to enjoy

Despite the name, pickleball has nothing to do with actual pickles Some claim that the name “pickleball” came from Pritchard’s cocker spaniel, whose name was Pickles. However, that family dog, who made his debut two years after they invented the sport, got his name from the game.

tennis, pickleball can be played as both a singles and doubles sport and has rules that allow teams with standing players and wheelchaired players to play each other.

More than 3 million players play pickleball in the United States and that number has been growing by more than 10 percent each year over the past decade.
