INGREDIENTS: 5 Cups AP Flour 1½ Cup of Blanched Almonds 2 Cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 TSP Vanilla Extract 2 TBSP Brandy (optional) 2 Cups Confectioners’ Sugar (divided)

DIRECTIONS 1. Place the toasted almonds in a food processor and grind until finely chopped. In a large bowl, combine the flour, chopped almonds, one cup confectioner's sugar and stir. 2. Sprinkle the vanilla extract and brandy over the dry ingredients. Add the olive oil and knead into a dough. 3. The dough should stick together when pressed but have a slight crumbly feeling, which is characteristic of a shortbread dough. If too crumbly, add olive oil one tablespoon at a time until the right consistency is achieved. 4. These traditional cookies are often shaped into crescents, buttons or balls. An easy trick is to shape them into buttons using a tablespoon measure. 5. If you want to do the same, fill a tablespoon measure with some dough, pressing the

2. Always repair your ball mark on the green. If you hit a shot of more than 10 yards, you are making a pitch mark on the green. Please take the time to repair your ball marks. An unrepaired mark takes almost 2 weeks to heal. 3. Fill in your divots in the fairway with sand. This acts like a topdressing for the grass and allows for a more uniform surface for the grass to grow in. If you are walking and do not have sand, at least try to kick in the sides of the divot as best as possible. 4. Rake the bunkers – Who gets mad when they hit in a bunker and it is unraked? Ask 'The Rule Guy'! Mr. Guy Beale | PNCC Member & CGA Rules Official Q: Q: In a stroke play event, I had marked, lifted and replaced my ball on the putting green of Hole #8, about 20 feet from the hole. A gust of wind blew the ball six feet closer to the hole. I played the ball from where it came to rest. Was that correct? A: No, starting in 2019, that was not the correct procedure. Once you have marked, lifted, and replaced a ball on a putting green, the ball "owns" that spot until it is played. If for any reason the ball moves from that spot before it is played, the ball must be replaced on the spot. If you fail to replace the ball, and make a stroke from where it came to rest, you incur 2 penalty strokes for playing from a wrong place. If you had not already lifted and replaced your ball on the putting green, and it was moved by a natural force such as wind, then you would play the hall from its new position. POST | GOLF

Porters Neck Men's Irish Open Results

The Irish Open was contested on March 19. The format was a 2 man Stableford point system with both player’s score counting. The team was given a point quota based on their handicaps and the final score was either plus or minus to their quota. Garrett Grove & Bill Miller along with John Atkinson & Joel Gordon were both tied at +6 after regulation play. We had a closest to the pin shootout on #9 to determine the winning team. Bill Miller hit the closest shot to claim the 2022 Irish Open Championship. Congratulations to Garrett Grove and Bill Miller and Jack Lehmann. We also had 3 closest to pin contests and the winners and their partners were entered in a shootout on #9 for $120.
