Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookie
COOKIE OF THE MONTH: BY RHETT SORG, EXECUTIVE CHEF AT THE RESERVE When I was little, my mother use to make this cookie along with one that was my brother's favorite. It started to become a comfort food for me. As time passed and family started going their own way, I didn’t get a chance to have this cookie very often. Even though I had the recipe, it never turned out the way mom made it. Now, when family gets together my mother has a batch of these sitting on the counter when I get there. Boy are they good! Not very healthy, but I’ll make the sacrifice.
Porters Neck Country Club will be hosting a Fun Run for Pints & Autism

Beyond Rare Vintages THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 2022 | 6:00 PM | PORTERS NECK CC You are cordially invited to enjoy an elegant, epicurean evening with Cristie Kerr and our talented chefs from McConnell Golf. This “ultimate tasting experience” is the kick-off to our culinary season and pairs some of Cristie’s most exquisite, top-rated wines with a unique five-course dinner prepared by our chefs. Cristie had one of the most successful amateur careers in golf before joining the LPGA Tour in 1997. Since her maiden victory in 2002, she has been one of the top players in the game with more than 182 top 10 finishes and 20 victories, including the 2007 Women’s Open Championship held at Pine Needles in Pinehurst.
An Evening with Cristie Kerr
"There are many parallels between Cristie Kerr’s success in golf and in wine: The passion, tenacity and discipline that make her a champion on the course are driving her forward as a vintner" (Wine Spectator).
In 2012, Cristie launched Kerr Cellars, a limited production, fine wine collection with award-winning winemaker, Helen Keplinger. Named a “Winery to Watch” in 2016, Cristie and Kerr Cellars were also featured on the October 2021 Wine Spectator cover. It is indeed a privilege and honor to bring Cristie Kerr and Kerr Cellars to McConnell Golf for a three-day tour.
Seating is Limited Register online via the website calendar or using the McConnell Golf app. - RSVP by March 2 - The cost is $125 per person, al inclusive.

Ask 'The Rule Guy'! Mr. Guy Beale | PNCC Member & CGA Rules Official Q: I played a provisional ball into the same general location as my original tee shot. I was able to find both balls, but I could not identify which ball was which. What is the ruling? A: : If only one of the balls is in bounds, that ball is treated as the provisional ball that is now in play. The other ball is out of play. If both balls are in bounds, you may choose which ball to play. That ball is deemed to be your provisional ball, and the other ball is lost. In either of these situations, your provisional ball is in play under penalty of stroke and distance, so you are lying three. If both of the balls are out of bounds, you must either return to the tee to play your fifth stroke or you may adopt the alternative to stroke and distance Local Rule if it applies. If you use the Local Rule, it applies to the provisional ball. You must drop a ball in the relief area with 2 penalty strokes, so you will be lying five at that point. POST | GOLF

Tee it High and Let it Fly! The professional golf staff at Porters Neck Country Club would like to welcome you to the 2022 golf season. Porters Neck Country Club is dedicated to growing your child in the many aspects of this great game we call golf. Our objective is to set your child up for success and to develop character through his or her failures. “It’s not about how many times you fall, it’s about how many times you get back up.”—Perseverance We look forward to working with new and continuing students on building relationships, teaching positive values, and providing them with life experiences that will last a lifetime. Golf is more than a game; it is a lifestyle. It is my job to make sure students learn just as much on the golf course as they will off the course. We are offering many programs built for our juniors of all ages in skill level in a fun, safe, and positive environment. Jordan A. Tennent, PGA
