DINING EVENTS Happy
Valentine's Day
SEAFOOD EXTRAVAGANZA FRIDAY, JANUARY 26 I 6:00PM-9:00PM I $50 PER PERSON CHILDCARE AVAILABLE Come and enjoy the Taste of the Sea as Chef John collaborates with Lowcountry Shellfish out of Charleston, SC to highlight the freshest seafood this family-run business has to offer. The menu will include starters, salads, and entrees all created to showcase the talents of the RCC Culinary Staff and the high quality of seafood from Lowcountry Shellfish.
VALENTINE LA CREMA WINE DINNER SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10 I RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED $100 PER PERSON I DRINKS & HORS D’OEUVRES AT 6:30PM FIRST COURSE SERVED AT 7:00PM Indulge in a wine dinner with your sweetheart for a great cause. A portion of the proceeds will go to our Footprints on the Green charity, Shield NC. Their vision is believing ending Human Trafficking begins with everyone doing their part to shield their community. What better way to give back to our local community as we partner with La Crema winery for a four-course meal prepared by Chef John. When La Crema was founded in 1979 as La Crema Viñera, meaning the “Best of the Vine,” the name was intended as an unabashed boast: These vineyards produced the very best grapes in the region. Today, the name has been shortened to mean “simply the best,” and La Crema’s wines represent the best grapes from preeminent cool-climate regions in California and Oregon. La Crema wines—inspired by Burgundian-style Chardonnay and Pinot Noir—are made in small lots that nurture distinct flavors and balance. The end result is elegant wines that are unswerving in quality over time.
SUSHI NIGHT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2 I 6:00PM-9:00PM Sushi is a very healthy meal! It's a good source of heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids thanks to the fish it's made with. Sushi is also low in calories. This event will kick off our HEART HEALTHY WEAR RED DAY!

TEE IT UP - A YEAR IN REVIEW Happy New Year! As we close out an exciting 2023 for Raleigh Country Club, we look forward to the upcoming 2024 golf season! The professional staff has worked hard on the event schedule for the upcoming season. The golf schedule will create new excitement for our members and build upon the traditions we have established in the past. As we move into the heart of the winter months, there will likely be some mild days to keep our games sharp for the upcoming season. Please be mindful that we may have frost delays, and we will make the necessary adjustments to maximize our members’ ability to play during these winter months. Please get in touch with the golf shop if you have questions about start times or conditions.

This year, we will continue to grow and evolve our Operation 36 program for juniors and ladies. This program is instrumental in developing golfers of all ages and skill levels. During the upcoming months, we will send out information on the schedule for Operation 36 at Raleigh Country Club in 2024. As we start a new golf year, I would like to thank the entire membership for supporting the club and the golf operation over the past year. The 2023 golf season at Raleigh Country Club celebrated the 75th anniversary of our club and the 20th anniversary of McConnell Golf. Raleigh Country Club hosted the UNC Health Korn Ferry Golf Tournament to rave reviews from the players, PGA Tour staff, fans, and our membership. The golf staff looks forward to the 2024 golf season as we continue to grow our member events while providing an outstanding golf experience. If I can assist you, please don’t hesitate to reach out; my door is always open!

JUNIOR GOLFER SPOTLIGHT
Kinsley Smith has accepted a scholarship to Creighton University. Kinsley has steadily risen to become one of the best girls junior golfers in our state. Kinsley is graduating from St. Mary’s School in May and will attend Creighton in the fall of 2024. Kinsley is the definition of what a Student-Athlete should be, as she is a member of the National Honor Society, President of the St. Mary’s Athletic Council and is a leader in the community through her work with the National Charity League and the Wee Care fundraiser at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church. On the golf course, Kinsley was the Most Valuable Player on her team the past four years and was selected to the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association All-State the past five years. She won the TISAC Conference Championship and finished 5th in the CGA NC Junior Girls Championship over the past year. Her scholarship proves that hard work and determination can allow junior golfers to achieve their goals and dreams. We wish Kinsley the best of luck and will be keeping an eye on her as she begins her collegiate career at Creighton University.
