Dear Members,

As we close the page on 2024, we have much to be thankful for during the past 12 months and even more to be excited about looking forward to the New Year and the 2025 golf season The professional staff has built an exciting schedule of events for the upcoming year that will create new experiences for our members, while building upon the traditions we have established.

In this season of “New Year's Resolutions,” we ask that everyone do their part to make 2025 the best year for golf course conditions in Raleigh Country Club history! This year, I challenge every member to leave the golf course and practice facilities better than they found it. This includes repairing not only your ball mark, but any others you may find on the course, properly raking every bunker you enter, and filling divots on the fairways and tee boxes

During the winter months, we will likely experience some good weather so members can continue sharpening their skills for the upcoming season. Please be mindful that we may have frost delays, and we will make the necessary adjustments to the tee sheet and tee times to maximize the course's availability for our members If you have any questions about conditions or starting times, please don’t hesitate to contact the golf shop

As we start the 77th golf season at Raleigh Country Club, I would personally like to thank the entire membership for the tremendous support the club and the golf operation have received over the past year The golf staff looks forward to the 2025 golf season, as we will continue to provide an outstanding golf experience for our members and their guests. If I can assist you, please don’t hesitate to reach out; my door is always open!

Best,

We would like to recognize our Director of Instruction, Erica Stoner, for being recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Best Young Teachers in America for 2025 and 2026. The list represents the best golf instructors in the United States under the age of 40 This is a great accomplishment, and we are proud to have Erica represent Raleigh Country Club and teach our membership. Congrats, Erica!

This year, we will continue the growth and evolution of the Operation 36 program at Raleigh Country Club. The program has been instrumental in developing golfers of all skill levels and ages. Last year, we saw tremendous strides in participation and improvement from the program's participants, and we look to continue this trend as we grow the next generation of golfers. Each semester is an 8-week program with weekly classes for an hour and four 9-hole playing events Below are the dates for this year’s Operation 36 Program at Raleigh Country Club. Please sign up through the RCC Calendar.

JANUARY COOKIE OF THE MONTH

JANUARY: COCONUT MACAROONS RECIPE BY REBECCA KEIL, EXECUTIVE PASTRY CHEF AT PORTERS NECK CC

“From a young age, I fell in love with the sweet, buttery, chewy texture of Coconut Macaroons. The simplicity of the recipe combined with the complexity of the flavor, including the toasted coconut, makes this a small bite for anyone to enjoy I find it best in the winter months, sitting by a fire, enjoying a hot cup of cocoa, snuggled up in a blanket Happy New Year!”
