MEMBERSHIP NOTES As is customary throughout McConnell Golf, all dues levels are reviewed annually and potentially may increase each June. This dues increase of slightly over 4 percent at Raleigh Country Club helps us to maintain the high-quality level of service our members enjoy daily. All private clubs adjust their dues at different times, some annually, and some on a more frequent basis. The good news with McConnell Golf is that there are never any assessments for capital projects or operational shortfalls. Many other clubs, even locally, are initiating dues increases in addition to assessments to all members for capital projects and/or operating shortfalls. Throughout the past year, we adhered to a policy to increase dues by CPI but not to exceed 4 percent. This allowed us to stay ahead of inflationary pressures. Although CPI increased 8.3 percent over the last 12 months, we stayed the course with 4 percent.

RCC STINGRAYS
A JOB WELL DONE: STINGRAYS SEASON RECAP The Stingrays have had a very fun and exciting season! Their swim meets have been highly competitive and fun. The first meet of the season was against Carolina Country Club. The meet started off with a bang with the 6 and under swimmers giving CCC a run for their money. Mae Rittershaus almost took the win in the 15 freestyle, just barely getting out-touched and Katie Rose Marlow took second in the 15 breaststroke. In the girls’ 7-8 medley relay, Quinn DeLeo came from behind and scored big points for the team. There were two other big wins in the 7-8 age group, with Harper DeVantier winning the 25 backstroke and Craft Baum tied for first in the 25 butterfly. In the 9-10 age group, the girls won their medley relay. Following the relay, Florence Hine won the 25 backstroke and butterfly. Aspen Graven also scored big points and took third in the 25 breaststroke. The 11-12 boys made a big splash by placing third in their freestyle relay. Maddie Behrens scored big points for the 13-14 girls, winning the 50 breaststroke and the 50 butterfly. Winnie Spencer took third in the 50 breaststroke. However, one of the most exciting races of the night was the girls 13-14 free relay. The girls beat both CCC women's and men's relays by over 3 seconds. The following week, the Stingrays raced The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation. The meet was super fun and a lot of kids stepped up to score big points for RCC. To start the meet off, the 6 and under boys went 1,2,3,4,5 in the 15 freestyle with Graham Hukill in first, Emil DeLeo second, Storm Graven third, Harrison Gard fourth, and Ward Baum fifth. Harrison Gard, Emil DeLeo, Ward Baum teamed up to make a 7-8 boys freestyle relay and killed it! In the 15 breaststroke, Mae Rittershaus and Katie Rose Marlow got second and third. In the 7-8 age group, there were lots of time drops and wins. Harper DeVantier and Avery Gard placed first and second in the 25 backstroke. Quinn DeLeo took second in the 25 breaststroke. In the 25 butterfly, Craft Baum and Brooks Hernandez placed first and second. Margot Maurer won the 25 butterfly with Quinn DeLeo in second and Avery Gard in fourth. However, one of the most exciting races of the night might have been the 7-8 girls free relay. The girls dominated the heat, winning by over 15 seconds. The 9-10 girls won their medley relay for the second week in a row and the boys placed third. Charlotte Rittershaus won the 25 breaststroke and 25 butterfly. For the 11-12 age group, Trey Spencer killed the 50 butterfly finishing third and Eliza Lindley finished second in the 50 butterfly. To finish the meet, Hannah Lawrie placed third in the 50 freestyle. Katey Lewicki, Abby Pilkenton & Thomas Hamlet RCC Swim Coaches
RCC SWIM TEAM QUICK FACTS The season thus far has been great, with every kid going faster than last summer. Throughout the dual meets we registered multiple individual event champions and top 3 finishes. As a program, we produced countless best times as well as best placings in our dual meets and championship meet for our individual races and relays. We had many new faces who were always ready to compete for the team. The Stingrays also rewrote the record books with the Coaches Relay placing 1st in the medley relay and 2nd in the freestyle relay. Our fanbase was always loud and proud throughout the season repping RCC in each of the Stingray’s events. Though not the biggest fanbase, we produced some of the biggest moments during the season as a whole.

Members,
MEN’S MEMBER-MEMBER
The 2022 golf season is flying by as it’s hard to believe we are already half way through the year! We have greatly appreciated the support from membership with several new events we’ve featured this spring and early summer: Masters Putting Contest, Thursday night Men’s League, Op 36 for Ladies, Couples Golf and Match Play. As we head into the fall, we will continue to work on fun events that we believe the entire membership will enjoy.
What a great weekend at the club as we had an awesome turnout and atmosphere for the Men's Donald Ross Classic. The pool was crowded both days and it was fun to see the young cowgirls and cowboys on the ponies Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to Noi and Pick Chay on winning their first shoot-out!
It’s great to see the tremendous job Billy Cole and his team have been doing on the course as it’s in great shape and fun to play on a daily basis. With summer now upon us and to assist Billy’s team, please continue to properly repair your ball marks, rake traps and fill in divots in addition to staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen. Have a great rest of the summer and look forward to seeing you at the Club.
