TEE IT UP

Dear Raleigh Country Club Members, I would like to thank you for continuing to do your part in making our course and Club the best in McConnell Golf. Please continue to be diligent in repairing balls marks, refilling your divots and raking bunkers. We continue to ask that Members and their invited Guests utilize the bag drop, change shoes inside the locker rooms, and adhere to the RCC dress code while on the golf course and using our practice facilities. It will be exciting in the upcoming months as we slowly, yet cautiously, return to pre-COVID norms, especially when it comes to holding our major golf championships on our new design. I cannot wait until our course is all green again, as it has been awesome to watch Billy Cole and his Staff work their magic in the upkeep of our Ross design. Congratulations are in order for RCC Member Mr. Bo Pulley! On Sunday March 28th, Mr. Pulley holed his 2nd shot on the Par 5 first hole to record the rarest of golf feats – the Albatross (or double eagle). Golf odds makers agree that making a Hole-In-One is somewhere around 13,000 to 1, but recording a 2 on a Par 5 has been posted as high as 6 million to 1!!!! Witnessing Mr. Pulley hole a 4 iron from approximately 195 yards were playing partners Mr. Peck Chay and Mr. Andrew Bullard. We can safely say that Mr. Pulley has the record for the first albatross on our new design.

Paul Dickens, Director of Golf

HOLE IN ONE! Congratulations to Fred Gahl on getting the first holein-one on the new course! Mr. Gahl holed a 5-iron from the burgundy tees on hole 14 with a back pin. Nice shooting Fred!

8 WEEK FALL SEMESTER I SEPTEMBER 7 – NOVEMBER 3 Operation 36 is the most effective program to teach our beginning golfers and our established junior players who enjoy competition and personal game growth. It is a clear blueprint to go from complete novice to par golfer. The lessons are based on playing on the course right away and moving up in divisions. Lastly, the technology that they provide in the app is cutting-edge. Each semester is an 8 week program that has weekly classes for an hour and four 9 hole playing sessions.
